I have put down multiple security deposits (10) for my last 2 BMW. BMW Finance lowers the money factor for doing so. How can I find out the current money factor for doing this before negotiating with the dealer?
Previously, you received a money factor discount of .0001 for each of the nine extra security deposits.. a total discount of .0009 in the money factor..
The new program only allows five extra deposits, and the discount is .00005 for each one.. for a total discount of .00025... Hardly worth the trouble..
I was told when I went to the dealership that BMW has added a 2% increase on all vehicles that are being ordered to customer’s specifications. Is this a true a statement?
If the cap cost is $40,145, then the payment is about $521/mo.+ tax..
If the acquisition fee is in the cap cost (resulting in a cap cost of $40,770, then the payment is about $540/mo.+tax..
Does the $1300 upfront include the $625 acquisition fee? If not, then $730, over and above the first payment, seems like a lot for tags, title, doc fee, etc..
As far as 2%? There is no 2% charge for ordered vehicles, but it is possible that BMW has announced a price increase effective January 1st... If so, any vehicle ordered now would have the price increase..
I haven't heard that.. but, at least that would make sense..
I bought my car off Route 17 in Bergen County,NJ from Prestige BMW. Out of the 9 dealers in NJ, they were the only one, willing to come down 2300 off MSRP.
The $1300 includes everything. The amount due at signing is $1035.00. (Ordering the car requires a $1000 refundable deposit.) The dealer gave me two options, either they will cut me a check for $265 (the remainder) or apply it to the car, which would make my payments lower. The tax is 7%.
So, what do you think? Should I take it or keep negotiating? Thanks in advanced!
I think you found a pretty desperate dealer (or for what its worth a pretty stupid one). He is giving you the car bfor $ 1,000 over dealer cost which will not even cover his sales expenses ( prep, mats, commission, fixed costs). So go and buy the car and run. Don't hope for any extras , because they gave you all of the money. Be careful that they do not get you on the back-end ( accessoirs, aftermarket stuff, finance or warranties). Good luck!
Hey, my advice is to make sure the car is BMW certified and you are buying it from a reputable dealership. Every deal which looks extremely good from the price side has hair on it. Meaning something is the reason for the low price. No free lunches my friend. You get what you pay for and all those smart asses who brag about the incredible deals they got disappear from this forum immediately after they bought the car because they are too embarrassed to admit that they bought a sub-par car, or service or both. So buy this great sports coupe. You should have plenty of warranty and free maintainence left. The price you mentioned is in line with what I see on the market here in the midwest for a certified car. I know about 04 models, BMW certified for slightly below 32G. Post a message if you want more info.
I have been browsing several BMW message boards and found a funny fact. Some people brag with the fact that they pressed their dealers to sell them a BMW for $ 500 over invoice. The same folks post on other boards complaints about the quality of service, personnel and friendliness they received. What's wrong with those guys? How can they expect to get a good sales experience or service or even a half-[non-permissible content removed] knowledgeable sales person, if they are not letting them make a reasonable profit? I am not saying I would pay sticker price but but lets get real. Who would want to work for an rude, ignorant or respectless grinder for $ 100 per transaction? Only someone who would otherwise apply at Home Depot, Best Buy or such, where product knowledge and sales skills are ranked on the lowest level. Just look what you get when you buy a GM, Ford or any other mass market vehicle. You get what you pay for. So bless you, who ground out that terrific deal, but stop complaining about the person you dealt with or about the absence of free-bees (such as key chains, floor mats or plate frames). If you cannot afford to pay for good car or service, don't ask for it.
I am not affiliated, related nor friendly with any of the BMW franchises or other manufacturers. Just observing the ignorance of consumers who could not pay for their vehicles if the businesses they work in would not make any reasonable profits. I cannot wait for all the responses of upset readers who think they were born to run somebody elses business. LOL
You should pay based upon to main facts: what is the the car worth to you and how much is the dealer service/sales person/covenience of loaner cars aso. worth to you. If you just want to get the car for the lowest price , don;t bother going to your dealership. You can buy the car for invoice ( I know how and where), if you don't want to pay for anything but the car ( I mean literally no service at all). If you want all the other stuff which comes with a highline car such as the BMW you should put a value to that and then see if you can afford to pay the price for good service and professionalism. Nobody can tell you what is a good deal for you or not because they don't know your needs. If you buy the new plasma TV for the lowest price, you wont have delivery and installation with it. So what good is that if you dont have transportation nor you have a clue how to hook that baby up?

Give me a break! Just because people want the best possible price doesn't mean that they have to be rude. Smart shoppers want to pay as little as possible. And how many of those are there? Don't you think that the dealer does well for all those people who pay sticker (or more than sticker) for their cars? The dealer doesn't give them a break b/c that's what the market will bear. It's the same with buyers. The market determines what is "reasonable." If they can get a better deal, then they will.
Secondly, if a dealer doesn't give me good service, then I'm not going to recommend him/her to anyone else. I'm not going to do any repeat business. A dealer's reputation is critical. And they make a good amount of their profit off of their after-sales service and repairs. I think it's in their best interests to take care of their customers.
Few people, in my opinion, really can control their impulses when it comes to buying a car. Many will drive the car, then they buy it on the spot and get the best deal they can without doing their homework. And it's a choice on the dealer's part whether or not to make a sale to a price shopper. They don't have to. They want to. And I think that's entirely reasonable.
Give your charity to the Red Cross or your local United way, not your BMW dealer.

What price (without tax, title and license) should I be looking for in Southern California (los angeles)? Any specific dealer who has a good history for low price offerings?
*ANY* reply will be appreciated.
Also, is there any other active forum/site where I can post this query?
your invoice is $ 34,250 if your region doesn't charge the dealership MACO fee ( $ 250). So if the car is in stock you should be offering the dealership $ 1,300 over that number which reflects a $ 1500 discount. You may be able to negotiate free BMW carpet mat into the price. This price offer should include meticulous service a perfect clean and ready car and good explanation of the features. If your salesman is an [non-permissible content removed], offer him les money since he/she doesn't deserve more. if you feel they are doing their job you should not ruin the sales experience yourself by trying to reach too deep into their pocket. If you want the car for invoice ( I know where) then you'll get NO service and some inconveniences, but you'll get the car guaranteed for invoice or less.
1. how do I know is my region charges the dealership MACO fee ( $ 250)
2. The car is not ready since its a manual car. I need to place an order and it will take 3 months (actually 8-10 weeks) to get it. Should the price vary in that case? If yes, how much cheaper/expensive?
Streetwise, would it be possible to lease a Bimmer for which you say that you know how and where to buy the car for invoice, or is it only for the purchase? But, anyhow, can you please let me (us) know "how and where"? Thanks.
According to those on the board here, I've apparently received a good deal from South Bay BMW. I got good service and the deal I negotiated was up front with no haggling. I was in and out in 1 hour, but this was just to order the car, negotiate price, and place my deposit. I have yet to sit down with F&I and pay my downpayment. I got a good deal on the 330i, so maybe they will give you a good deal on the 325 as well.
What I would recommend is to email a bunch of dealerships and ask them for their best quotes. Go through their internet departments because they will quote you an "internet price". You can try asking if South Bay BMW will beat the lowest quote you find. My salesperson told me they will match any quote I find. I took a quote to the salesperson that I dealt with and she accepted it (as did her sales manager) without question. Unfortunately, no free floor mats.
Oh and by they way, the second best quote was from Alexander BMW, also in L.A.
anyone knows of a dealership in NJ (preferably central NJ) that is willing to sell an '06 325xi/xit with auto transmission for close to invoice price. Thanks

My instinct is to say that prices always inevitably fall as time goes on and newer models are introduced. I believe they will be introducing the coupe soon. I've never heard newer cars going up over time, but there is a risk they will start charging a small percentage to order a car. Winter is a good time usually as dealers try to make way for newer models or to meet their sales projections for the year.
If I place an order on my car say in end January, I will get the car sometime in early to mid April. (I am ordering a manual)
In the meantime, if (in Feb-Mar) the prices of the car fall, will I be given that much discount (by the %age the prices reduce) or will I still be charged the same price I negotiated in January?
In the meantime, if (in Feb-Mar) the prices of the car fall, will I be given that much discount (by the %age the prices reduce) or will I still be charged the same price I negotiated in January?
The actual price of the car won't go down... What people are talking about is dealers selling them for lower to "move metal" at the end of the model year. If you negotiate a price in January, the actual window sticker will say the same thing as it will in April. (Actually, the price could go up a little bit, as all manufacturers increase their price by a little bit a few times per year.)
The best month I've heard is December. The price that I've negotiated in December should hold until my car comes in January. You put the deposit down to order the car, negotiate price, and then wait for the car to come. When the car arrives, this is when you'll pay for your vehicle based on the price you negotiated at the time of order.
At least this is how it worked at South Bay BMW. But bdr127 is right, the price doesn't go down on the sticker, but the price dealers are willing to sell the car will likely go down, just to move metal.
Leased a 330i (e90) in May. Now I think I got a horrible deal. ZSP, ZPP, Manual, Retail @ about $41,400. Put down about $2000 (not including Tax, Title, etc. Paying $639/month. Is there anyway to reduce this payment through BMW financial. I may even be interested in moving to a 5 series (525). Can I do this with little or no down and lower my monthly?? I now see others leasing similarly equipped 330's for almost a hundred less. According to the finance guy at the dealership, my credit was not an issue and did not increase payment. psyran
You leased the car the first month it was introduced... Selling prices were higher then... the money factor was higher, etc, etc...
You paid for being the first person on your block to get a brand new model... I don't think your lease price is out of line for the time that you bought the car...
There won't be any inexpensive way to get out of your lease.. As the year goes on, you might see even lower lease prices.. I wouldn't let it bother you... You've already been driving your car for seven months..
1. So by end December should I negotiate the price below invoice? Or its not possible to go below invoice?
2. Also, I havent followed the car prices before, as to when they increase/decrease. Do the new prices come out early in the year - say January 2006? Any idea on when BMW is increasing the price of its best selling car?
3. As I said earlier, I am ordering a manual transmission. It will take 2-3 months to get the car. Will I have to pay extra for getting the car built? Someone had raised this point earlier too. But still confirming.
I kind of feel the same way, but I don't let it get me down. I ordered my e90 when it was only out for 3 weeks. There will always be a better deal, so you just have to realize that you made the best decision at the time with the information you had available.
1. Below invoice will not work. They will decline your offer and it will probably be hard to work with them as your expectations and the dealer's will be so far apart. If it were me, I would shoot for 1k over invoice. 2. Your guess is as good as mine. 3. I had my 325 manual ordered custom (required as I did European Delivery) and they did not charge any fees.
Good Luck.
