RUG $3.41 lowest (a local Wal-Mart instigated a price war about 6 weeks ago, consistently the lowest, everyone around it is within a nickle) Local market avg. $3.61 NC avg. $3.65
Let's see... I've lost track.... there's a Volvo in there.... a BMW.... What the heck is the current line up?
I'm only one behind but A. Only one car more than actual drivers and the 16 year old is getting on to permit and B. Only one of the cars is marginally interesting. I'm almost like Andre but with more recent, Japanese cars....

actually, that reminds me ... gotta update it. Still shows the Accord instead of the G35x. Oh, and the Pacifica rather than the XC90. Geez. Well, its fixed now.

Hmmmm... I still see the Honda (I wouldn't have minded that one) and the Pacifica..... I assume the Alpha and the Mazda truck are still actually there.
I feel silly. Only two manufacturers over our cars. If VW could make a reliable car I could expand into Europe.

Put 16 gallons in Silverado Wed. Topped off 20 gallon tank in Riv and measured 23.8 mpg for last 250 miles. Why does $3.40 seem cheap? When I finally get my stimulus check for $600, it might actually be able to fill all 6 of my vehicles and still have some $ left over, if gas continues to stay down.
was for $3.87 for 87 regular octane and the local Jewel, with the upper grades 10 cents more each ($3.97, $4.07). The Mobil was at $3.89, with the Shell at $3.91.
By the job it was an additional 5 ~ 10 cents for each grade for the same stations.
Got it! Nice collection. You need something to bring up when Andre trots the DeSoto out.... Something nice mid-fifties range. Maybe a Renault Dauphin would do...
I haven't been out in two days so no gas prices. Hope to update later.

Current price for RUG is $3.31/GAL... I paid $3.29 two days ago.. On Tuesday, 08/19/08 it was $3.25/GAL.. The price has gone up a little but the last time I posted on here was 2 or 3 monhs ago and the price was $3.96/GAL here in the suburbs of Chattanooga, TN...
had to get some to drive my old astro to the old house and back twice over weekend. 240 miles total. Got in my car and saw it was still full this morning. maybe it will be back to 3.50's before car runs low again. Not suprised by the downward sticky of gas prices vs oil prices. Refiners say they have been losing money all summer. poor refiners.
for the most part, 87 octane is down in the $3.5X range. I've heard that with Gustav stirring up trouble though, prices might rise, so I just sent the roommate out to fill up the Intrepid.
was $3.859 for 87 octane, with 89 and 93 10 cents more each. Was in Alabama, Georgia and Indiana last week and over the weekend. Prices were in the $3.50 ~ $3.60 range for regular petrol. I think with the home heating gas / oil season upon us the prices may tick down to the $3.60 ~ $3.70 range (dare I say $3.50??) but not much further.
After hitting an area low of $3.51 at one station locally, the price jumped 2 cents and has stayed there. I supose it could be the hurricane season fears but oil has dropped $8-10 per barrel while gas is staying the same.
I suspect evil influences.

to $3.99 for today's fill-up. Was caught on the increase this time. Seems we cannot stay on a downward tick anymore, where other places are decreasing in petrol prices my area is going up. The Shells and BPs were running $4.10 yesterday, with one Citgo near work at $3.91 (unfortunately can't use their watered-down fuel, makes the vehicle gag and puke!!).
But I can be grateful that I don't fill-up in the city, especially downtown, since prices range from $4.20 ~ $4.60 for 87 octane.
Jersey shore broke the $3.30 mark early this week. The cheap area hit $3.25 for Lukoil with a $3.26 Hess just south. In town here it's hovering about a dime higher.
For a little bit about a week ago there was suddenly a spread of a quarter from the cheapest to the most expensive RUG. Usually it's maybe a dime.

Today in my home town near the geographic center of Texas, there were rumors started of "gas prices going to jump a dollar by tomorrow."
So, of course, everyone started heading to the gas stations. A grand total of 8 stations in the whole town of 5,000 people.
In short order, all eight stations had lines of cars and trucks down the block. One of the stations ran out of gas by 11:00 AM.
Prices were expected by today to go up about 10 cents a gallon.
Talk about a ridiculous situation !!! Glad I was not there !! I would have been arrested for public disturbance for telling all those old fools to get back home and quit following unfounded gossip !!!
Gas was $3.69 at the time at the cheapest station in town.
P.S. Googling the news shows that this phenom is going on in a LOT of small towns across the country. STUPID !!!
Due to Hurricane Ike---our gas went up 15 cents over night !!! Now it is from 3,429 to 3.459 and more in some areas. This is for the blend not pure gas !!!
I pulled into the Shell near work where RUG was $3.50. While I was waiting to fill up, one of the attendants went out to the sign to raise the prices by 20 cents.
Turns out that all local stations had raised their prices similarly in the last 24 hours.
Got mine just in time! Looks like I'll have to ride the next few weeks out without adding any more gas just like I did for Katrina.
Lucky you saved a few dollars beating the price increase. I can always tell at the local morning coffee stop quickmart UDF when the price is going to go up; the workers go out and put gas in their own car to beat the price increase the manager is going to put on the sign.
We're hearing the media propaganda about having to raise prices drastically. But they rationalize it's because 20% of the refineries are closing for a few days. But they don't mention that gasoline volume had been reduced in the last weeks because the reserve size had encouraged price drops ont he gasoline. So the result is that the gasoline reserves are lower than they could have been to help tide us through a few or several days of lower refinery output if the storm were to do lots of damage to the Texas zone refineries.
If gas only went up a nickel in Houston, any price hikes above that should be reported as gouging. Profiteering during adverse times needs to be prosecuted.
The U.S. average price for regular gasoline jumped nearly 6 cents to $3.73 a gallon Saturday, while Houston's average price spiked almost a nickel to $3.54 a gallon, according to AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
yesterday I had to run home in the middle of the day, and noticed that the local Shell jacked its prices up a bit. $3.799 for 87, $3.999 for 93. They must have done this after I had gone in to work, because they were $3.799 and $3.949 that morning.
My area for the last 48 hours is 3.99 RUG, 4.21 for 93 which I have use. In reading these last half dozen posts, it seems I somehow have moved to So. Cal. without knowing it. This is Greater Cleveland area.
We seem to have settled down after the Ike Insanity.
Local RUG avg. $3.97 (about $0.40 higher than pre-Ike) Lowest I have seen $3.79 (local Wal-Mart)
We hit our highest local daily average earlier this week at $4.10. Note: locally we never broke the $4.00 barrier during the summer run up.
Related - NC Attorney General has issued subpoenas to some 15 gas stations around the state for price gouging. Highest price for RUG I heard of was $7.99.

Oh, No, NOT YOU TOO? Gary has been saying that for a year and a half at least, much to my chagrin.
As I have told him - put this in your corb cob pipe and smoke it:
Gas (as a USA Average price) will NEVER, EVER, EVER again be as low as $2 a gallon.
By the way - Phoenix prices in the $3.43 range right now for the lowest (Costo).

For those that like high priced gas we still have one Shell station selling RUG for $4.69. The highest priced diesel is $4.39.
One station is at $3.35 A few others are at $3.44. Many are at $3.49 and more at $3.55.
Have no clue why the difference in gas prices.
