You'll also severely reduce your tire choices and increase your tire costs.
My advice is to stick with the 17" tires - even if you change wheels. If you think you still want the 18s - go price the same tire in both sizes just so you know what you're facing when it's time to buy new ones.
One other question, I have the brushed aluminum wheel, what does everyone think about changing out the wheels to the to the bullet chrome's?

At highway speeds, I occasionally drop down to 4th if I want to take off.
Overall, I'd rather get the Mustang, which is why I was hoping people would tell me I'm crazy and that the pony is plenty fast.
GET A Manual 5 Speed!
Thanks.
If you visited a PA dealer, everything you saw should have had CA emissions.

I'm curious because I've not heard anything about this and am wondering if it's going to raise the price of our yearly required emissions test again. :surprise:
Apparently, Ford and Shelby are getting together (again) to bring a GT350H to Hertz. A limited run of 200 black w/gold stripe Mustang GT's, with mild intake/exhaust upgrades (around 320hp) will be available from select Hertz dealers this summer.
sweeeeeeet....

GTO is blindingly fast, no question. But it is 'butt ugly' and not at all 'user friendly' as far as interior room. And it has those damned red gagues!
We compared the pony against the GTO and the Hemi Charger. Rulled out the GTO in about five minutes. Charger took a little longer. But in the end, the librarian said it all - 'it won't be nearly as much fun writing a check for anything less than the Mustang'!!
Silver premium GT convertible is on the truck now and should be in our hot little hands very soon!!
Good luck!
As for shiny chrome wheels, could you possibly shout "Pimp!" any louder? :shades:

Ford has 9 inch Lemans strips. I Understand that Ford stripes are PAPER backed and as such they are kind of hard to install.
The GT500 will have strips from the factory.
Mark.
I'll be ordering mine in December or January and am going crazy waiting for that day to come!
now has 30500 mlies on it.
By the way did you get 5 spd?

Ford is making a terrible mistake breaking up a team which has been around for decades, just when the muscle car is making a comeback.
High-end, refined versions of the Mustang are just what the public is ready to pay for, viz the frenzy over the Cobra Mustang, and the heady prices paid at Barrett-Jackson for a Ford factory racing Mustang and Cobra Mustang GT500.
The American public is ripe for a hot car in the less than $40k range, and the Mustang is the only platform for it at present. :shades:
Look at Dodge's SRT program and Chevy's SS program. You don't need 500 hp to be high performance.
And who said anything about getting rid of hi-po mustangs? You'll still have the GT500 mustang but instead of it taking 2 years to debut after the base mustang it will only take 1 year or less because it will be engineered in parallel instead of waiting until after the base mustang is finished. That will also make it cheaper.
Can't wait till Thursday! ">
The Mustang isn't a "sports car." It's an American muscle car, not a BMW roadster or Miata.
The Dodge's suck. Chevy's are even worse, 'cept the Vette.
The SVT did nothing to slow down the development of the GT 500.
Ford is making a colossal mistake. It screwed up the Thunderbird, putting out a car for grandfathers. Now it's totally abandonning the in-your-face guts of the SVT for middle-aged family-man transportation with a little extra kick. Screw that.
