"The [Ford] boys will find "something" wrong with it [the Duramax or 8.1L] and will without a doubt preach to us all about how much better the [Ford 5.8L] engine [will be]. Like anyone but [Ford] boys actually believe a word of it."
sound like anyone familiar??? LOL!!!

Whats up with this 5.8? What is Ford developing it for?

I love that interpretation! I wonder of thats what GM was aiming for....

...(you'd think for a person who thinks he's God...this wouldn't effect him??)
I'd put it against a similar Ford....but the base engine in a Ford 3/4 is a 5.4....and that wouldn't be too fair...
(what would the 5.4 base engine be in a 3/4?....a 1/3 ton engine?)

mission accomplished!
...I dog Dodge the most because they are the poorest built and the oldest technology under that new body. I never said I cause no poop....I live for it..
I change my statement...I'll buy all a beer.....except you..
Better read that book some more DB...

heavy half 350-4V, Currently have a '00 C2500 5.7L
booty spanker pick-up. Don't care for styling of
'97 up F150's or new Desperado OPPS Silverado.
Never had a Dodge. Will wait for new hemi-engine
offering in Razm pick-ups before I consider buying
one. Have also owned S10's and Rangers. Liked em
all. Am loyal to none. If I like a pick-up, I will buy it, any brand....

Yes, that damn thing is in the way. Not only do you kick it, but it even looks ugly!
Also, as a personal preference thing, the interiors of the S/S (that guy's extended cab had leather) seemed very carlike, meaning the seat backs are lower like a car. It did certainly look a bit roomier than the F-150, at least front-to-back -- perhaps not in width. But the F-150 seats (I have the bench front seats and the 1999 folding down rear seat in my Supercab) seem more substantial and, well, solid looking somehow.
Again, this is all what you find attractive (and what I do differently). Enjoy....

sorry, bud...i can imagine how you feel. damn, i'd be pissed!

Swift...perhaps he was telling you to get a GM with the composite box?...LOL
....I don't think I'd be able to keep it together if that was me....although it is your own kid...and that makes it "different" as they all say...uh huh..
sorry to hear it though...

Ford was about 50K ahead of GM last month, so it lookslike they held even in August. I can't find the actual monthly figures anywhere. GM's numbers supposedly include everything, but at this point, there should hardly be any C/Ks left on the lots. I haven't seen any in months. Right now, it looks like GM's 1500 and 2500 is keeping up with Fords entire lineup.
Fords power increase on the big truck engines is good thing: there won't be nearly as big as a gap in the comparisons. I still wish GM had gone with the solid front axle on the new big rigs.
If you're going to put the meaty Allison in there, put the big front axle in there too. Might not have had room.
Dodge is really stagnating the past 2 months. Their engines are way over due an update. I really think they could put the new engines in the current Dodge body and sales would pick up big time. You test drive a Dodge and its just plain slow when compared to Ford or GM.
Who would have thought that we would ever say this year, Dodge is last in the diesel power? Still bulletproof though, and not weak by any means.
My uncle has a SC 8.1 w/Allison on order..I can't wait to test drive it for him! Surely I can find something that 'needs' to be towed....
Good luck on this one now.
the lady of the house had left a note to take out the garbage, and the chevy owner read it as take out the garage, so he hooked up the garage and pulled it down. I would think this commercial is a major slam by chevy to the owners of these trucks.
Saying they have no common sense.....like a dumb jock, if I was an owner I'd complain.

Ahhh...-sigh-...(Gore-ism).....I guess Chevy fans need these fantasies to take them away from the reality of Ford dominance.
What does parachute pants and Camaros have in common? No....actually the pants sell better....
LOL!!!!!
