one bad thing about washing your truck in the driveway when its below freezing is your driveway turning into a skating pond. Just pulled my truck in the driveway and i went for a nice slide. Damn near killed myself.

I knew that someone would know and be able to tell me about the Vent Shades. You guys really get with the answers most of the time. What is the big deal about the carmine colored trucks? Around here the big color is Puker (oh thats what the wife calls it) Pewter, in one 80 mile trip on Interstate counted 35 Puker colored ones most were 1500's Z71's not many real trucks like my 2500!! Maybe that will get something going and you can forget about the salt on the roads and the cold weather. It gets cold here but not much of the winter liquid, thank goodness because no on can drive on it.
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
Back awhile ago i made a comment that only old people drive carmine colored trucks. It was something i noticed around here. It caught on and is a huge joke now.

Yes Ryan I know what you mean. I've got a friend with a carmine truck. He's almost thirty six. LOL

I'v been lurking here for about a year. So I know about the carmine joke and flares. FYI. My truck is white. So unlike you, I can get away with washing it a few times a year. It always "looks" clean but almost never is.

    Jim

My thinking is "if its not a 2500, why bother?"
That should get thing going for you!

damn 36??? thats over the hill hehe its good to be young.

my truck from a distance always looks clean but the closer you get its always dirty.

Scooter you have flares on your truck? Theres a guy that goes into my work alot with a white Z71 with the shiny black flares. Doesnt look bad.

Oh yea friday night i went to the mall (one in ilinois i havent been to in awhile (lincoln mall)) well kinda got lost drove around for 2 hrs. Ended up in southern illinois. Ok to finish my story seen a new 3500 Dually dmax at a rest stop. Very nice truck. It was white.

  • scootter31scootter31 Member Posts: 31
Black flares on a white truck, no thank you.Black on a dark blue truck, OK. Before anyone asks, I'm to cheap to get flares and paint them white.

3500 Dually dmax at a rest stop? I don't see it? If I were driving it, I'd explode before stopping to wee.

    JED:
    36 ain't that old......35 in 7 days.
and I would try viagra, but they can't keep up with me without it.
    No sense getting anyone hurt!

four hours today... what a waste of time....well, at least I got to frag a couple of ford owners...

Man, this Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo really grows old fast. I'm starting to hate this thing. Only truck that they had available was a '01 Dakota Quad cab....and I didn't know which was worst so I kept the Jeep. Those parts had better get here quick....or I might end up with a Ford F150.
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
Im sure the dmax guy was eating. There was a 1500 silverado and a vette parked by him i was guessing they were together. He had a large 5th wheel trailer. Id say 28-36ft

anyone have a solution for getting the trim panel that goes around the front edge of the dash to quit making noise? Not sure if it's due to the colder weather here in Wisconsin, but seems to be constant, if you apply pressure to the part it goes away. Thanks.
  • ryanbabryanbab Member Posts: 7,240
Take the dash apart and above the instrument cluster and below the actual dash put a bunch of foam in there. That stopped my rattle all together

Hasnt come back in a month and a half

    for the floor mat info/pics.

Sounds like us Carmine 'rado guys may be outnumbering the Indigo's. Might have to choose up sides and play some football for best color.

Tim, congradulations on the hunt they look like good ones. I leave for my first deer hunt in three years on Sunday.

Floor mats; i agree the stock mats leave something to be desired. I believe somebody said something about floor mats that actually drained toward the door. The others I've seen are better than stock but look like they would just create puddles.

Liner: my preference would be for a spray in. I'm currently deferring until I get my cap paid for and to see what I really need. For now I'm going to go with a rubber mat.

    Indigo rules!

I use those rectangular carpet samples from the local carpet shop-.50 each, toss 'em when they get too dirty-keeps from having water running onto the carpeting.

drive line clunk, rattling / wind noise from the rear windows, and the wind shield weatherstrip noise?
