Mine was special ordered and built in Arlington, Tx 3 day before I told deliverary,I took delivery about April 3rd. It should have had the latest upgrade.
I would like to start some discussion on the Yukon Hybrid. Does anyone have any information on this vehicle? I live in the St. Paul area (Minnesota) and have recently been depressed by calling local GM dealerships and have them say "Yukon hybrid?" These dealerships have NO IDEA that the GMC website has the Yukon Hybrid and this truck has been on the internet for over a year.
Does anyone have a realistic date for release and any pricing information?
Not fantastic mileage, but I'm pleased considering the size and weight of the vehicle. So far mine has been trouble free.
Glad to hear you are enjoying your vehicle.
"I test drove the '07 with the four speed really did not feel it was adequate. "
If you thought the 5.3L wasn't adequate, I don't know if a 6spd is going to change your opinion. The six speed will have one gear lower than the current four and one more OD gear. It will be a little quicker off the line but it will still be a mid-range dog as the middle gears will essentially be unchanged. If you want more power, get a suburban and order the 6.0L

Count yourself lucky with 19mpg. Not many are getting anywhere close to that.

Assuming your '96 Yukon had a 40 gallon gas tank like a Suburban, you were averaging about 15 mpg to go 600 miles.
But you've made extremely good points muskyhunter.
Saratogalake- If you could've bought the same drivetrain we have now in that Yukon as an option back in 96, I'd bet that it would be better for overall fuel efficiency than the 5.7l. The fuels we use now combined with the extra weight of the new generation of these vehicles usually means that most of us are just seeing break-even numbers for economy, if that. Chop the extra weight out and get back to completely non-ethanol gasoline blends and things improve quite a bit. I've actually seen at least a 2mpg difference in mileage just between pure gas versus 10% ethanol blend gas with the one vehicle I owned and was able to use both in back to back.
But as a final note- it's not the midrange where the 5.3l suffers against the 5.7l, as the mid and high end is where the 5.3l makes the most power (and why it is rated as much stronger than the 5.7l for both horsepower and torque numbers). It's the low end, where the 5.7l would gladly leave the line carrying twice the payload without a single groan, the new generation of smaller displacement engines needs extra-low gearing and a heap of throttle to even come close. Our new engines need to spin at a higher rpm to make the same torque and horsepower, while the 5.7l could be geared higher (and spin slower) at just about any speed and load. I'd personally like to see a real successor to the 5.7l available with some of the updates that the 5.3l has, though maybe that's what the 6.0 is now?
PS- I have the 2007 LT3 model, Dark Blue.
I am thinking about getting a new PCM for my 5.3L. Many appear to be happy with the programmed PCM from wait4meperformance dot com Very inexpensive for the results some are posting.
Are you talking about the silver/gray pin that holds the attachment thingy to the blade? :confuse:
I was thinking that after I get a new set, trying to press the pin out and attaching it to a set of normal blades. There are several blades out now that have the same configuration as the Valeo but with standard attachment.
My parts guy will sell them to me for $20 ea. Not bad for a $5 blade.
Does the nav unit only handle double-sided DVD's? Thanks.
Also, there is no such thing as double sided DVDs in the sense I think you mean. Double sided DVD's are typically used for different film formats. DVDs you burn are either single layer or dual layer, giving you 4.7GB or 8.5GB of storage, but layers are only on one side. They don't come 2 sided... at least that I've ever seen.

1) VHS VCR connected to a Plextor ConvertX hardware MPEG2 converter connected to the PC by USB2 port. This and the included software lets me create DVD compliant video data that I use a separate software package (Nero) to burn onto the discs.
2) VHS VCR connected directly to a standalone Philips DVDR 3400 DVD recorder. This recorder works a whole lot like a regular VCR. So it's pretty simple- select the input source, set the recording quality (analogous to setting the recording speed for VHS to get more / less on a tape- does the same thing for the DVD+R discs), start the source, hit record, finalize the disc when done.
Number 2 is my current method, because it's just so much easier and less time consuming than using the PC path, with far fewer variables involved. If I have something that I want much greater creative control over (menu structures, home video editing, etc.) I'll still use the PC though.
So far all the discs I've attempted to play back in the Avalanche were created using the Philips recorder. I have no reason to doubt that the PC created discs will work just as well though- my wife's Terraza plays discs from either equally well. Also, the discs themselves seem to make more of a difference than the tool used to make them (as long as the tool is making DVD compliant discs). For example, I started out the whole DVD-backup thing by experimenting with different types of media. I've used -R, -RW, +R, and +RW, and tried different brands of each. The brand sometimes has made a difference, but far less than the type of disc itself. In my own experience the -R and -RW discs haven't played as well in the van (again, haven't repeated this test with the Av since I settled on +R discs). +RW discs worked fine, but since I wanted to make permanent copies I've reserved the rewritables for use as data discs for my computers.
I have been a Subaru owner for some years now due to my long commutes. I will be working from home full time now and have always had my eye on the Tahoe. There are some good used deals here in NH as I am only looking to spend AT MOST $30k. This would be my first ever American car/truck purchase so I need to start off slowly
I just want to get people's idea of something like a 2004 Z71 for around $26,000.
Also, is Chevy REALLY DISCOUNTING the 2007's lately?
