Problems arise when you get people who don't care about anyone else but themselves. Keys are not put back, drawers not closed gently but slammed thereby shaking the keys out of the slots and causing unneccessary work for everyone else.

    Like ya read about

Then you have the "superstars", these guys think they own the dealership and have keys laying around their desk all the time and when you ask for the key they say they don't have it even though it's staring you in the face.

    LOL....

Depends on who the person is if I give the key back ;)

We have all worked together for so long that we know who did what before they did it. :D If there are keys missing on a hot used car we normally know where to look. :D

I have been here about 15 years and that is the least amount of time of any of the MGR's and out of our current staff of 18 sales people 12 of them have been here at least 7 years some 20+.

I take that back, I am no longer the Green Pea on the management staff. We hired a new UCM a few months ago because we will need him at the new store.

    "...others only care about themselves..."

How do those jokers treat their customers?

we use the key trac drawers too. they can be a PITA when the key fob doesn't read the key and tells you jim bob has the keys, even though they were in the machine the whole time.

I like it that it tells you who took the keys...

The funny part is you ussually have to read it...

Meaning when I first started looking for the salesperson they would be like " No, I haven't driven that for month"

Than you look at the small print and see that the key was taken on Jan. 11, 2006...

Or the salesperson doesn't work here anymore either...

So I guess you will need two peg boards, two sheets of paper each day and a larger box screwed to the counter for the new dealership you guys are building :P

The peg board can go next to the new self grind mocha latte expresso machine in the customer waiting lounge ;)

Do you really think we can talk him into that? No, I’m not talking about the key thing. I’m sorry I ask about that damn thing. What a diatribe we’ve gotten about that thing.

I’m talking about getting a group together and going down there for some free mocha latte espresso when the new store opens. You know, like “hi, the gangs all here happy open house” thing. :D

Luckily there appear to be two different blueprints:

For the Patriots opponents: How to defense the Pats
For the Patriots: How to win against the other teams blueprint!

From the Auto Show, cars I want:
    Audi S5
    Jaguar XK, maybe XF
    Maserati Gran Turismo!!!

But, of course, the best looking model was the lovely young woman presenting the new Saturn (Opel) Astra!

I think we will have to go see Jescue for any mocha lattes. Maybe Joel will give us some Folger's drip coffee. :D

We have a coffee bar in the Audi showroom. It is called the quattro cafe, complete with barstools and..no coffee. We havent gotten around to it yet. We do have regular coffee, but no mocha lattes. Good thing as I would never sleep if we did. :surprise:

Maybe at the next place you will have fios, comcast or whatever other high speed servers there are.

To tell you the truth I don't know what I have.

Those are great commercials. While I generally put Comcast in my least liked corporate entities file they have great commercials.

Much in the same way I have noticed for a long time the law of inverse beer commercials, which is to say that the worse the beer, the better the commercials. You get a nice beer like Beck's or Sam Adams and the ads are pretty straightforward - "hey we make a great beer. Try it." Bud Light, on the other hand, has good, funny commercials. That said, I don't think I'd drink their product if the alternative was dying of thirst.

It depends on the Management and how they set the rules. I work at the 3rd Largest lexus store in the country and we put out 728 cars last december and were slated for 800 this month. we use the key track machine and have no problems. It's about being professional and corteous to your fellow co workers. If I demo a car and I'm not spotting It I put the key back in the machine & thats It. If the salespeople can't be big boys and girls and be held accountable for their actions then hit them in the pocket. I used to work at a nissan store that would charge you $250 for a lost key and $1000 for a lost plate. How many keys and plates do you think you found laying around THAT dealership. If you are reading this and think that thats a little too much then you are probably "THAT GUY" You know... the one that takes the demo to your #1 selling car out to lunch for two hours. :P

While I’d like to see them make that deal, I think the competition is too tough. You should know it’s just too difficult to take a deal away from the toughest competition twice in such a short period of time.

Since both dealerships are probably going to survive the other competition (one has already ensured that) I’d prefer to see it happen in the new year when the manufacture increases the incentives; when there will be no rebates and you get to keep all of the holdbacks. :D

We probably have. I know a lot of the JM&A guys and gals.
Congrats on the little desk guy, you'll have lots of fun with him. I have three all grown up and one grandkid. They are even more fun to play with cause once you're done you just give them back to their parents.! lol
Thanks for the encouraging words. I had my quarterly PET scan this morning. The guys in the scan booth let me look at my pictures. WOW! The human body is amazing! I looked at my actual scans but since I don't know how to interpret them I'll have to wait until next Thursday to go over the results with my doc.
The amazing thing is they had them on an lcd screen and first they showed me the color scans, full beautiful detailed scans, I actually saw my lungs, liver, kidneys, heart, you name it. Looked even better than an anatomy book. Then they switched to the more conventional pictures like you see on tv shows and such. The grayscale sectioned scans. Those were not that interesting. Next time I'll ask for a photocopy or maybe I can access them at home. :)

Yep, we do JM&A service contracts and extended warranties. Right now we have a full F$I staff but when we run one or two short we get JM&A folks to come up and help out.

ALG gives the Outback 4 stars:

    https://www.alg.com/deprratings.aspx

The Pat is not rated yet, but the Compass gets 3 stars.

I think it's pretty safe to say the OB will hold its value a bit better, plus it's proven so likely it'll have fewer problems as well. It came out in 2005 so they've had time to iron out the kinds. The Patriot is still relatively new.

chrysler just allocated me 4 challengers. 2 will go on ebay and 2 to my 20 grand over msrp russian exporter.

i did deals with this guy on vipers and grand cherokees to russia.the first time was in 1992 i had to fly to moscow to do the deal.if a russian mafia type wants to take you out for dinner and drinks go.the hostesess in russia make sure you have a great dinner and include a doggie bag for later. or should i say hostess bag;-)
  • british_roverbritish_rover Member Posts: 8,502
Ahh the russian exporters. We get them all the time too. Whenever we get a Black on Black Range Rover Sport or Range Rover used they are all over it. They also like Black on Black Infiniti FXs and Escalades.
  • deskmandeskman Member Posts: 485
back in 92 i sold him 2 vipers for 50k over msrp after that i would send him 20 to 30 cars a month at msrp inc delivery to the port.
Now the Export market consist of just the models that are N.A spec srt,sti ,viper, rams, tribeca and korean mini vans( we need diesels while the dollar is weak)

Back to my volvo c70 questions.dealercash, res% volvo money factor?
