    Hahaha! That is funny.
I do the same thing anytime I see an Azera owner. They always seem to love hearing it.

yahoo autos on their discussions of the Azera state
that the 2007 limited as well as the 2007 se have
been"discontinued"; their reviews are now directed
    at the GLS and the limited XM as well as the Se XM;
does Edmunds have any information concerning this
    matter,if,in fact,their statements are correct?

    RE:510
I believe that all of the new production Azera models are coming with XM radio. That is the reason the non XM models are indicated as discontinued.

    Same car, new radio.

While killing time waiting for a routine service on my '07 Azera I was walking the new car lot and noticed a new '07 with a backup camera, 2 lenses mounted on the rear bumper. A dealer option with an added price window sticker...$895.00.

    FYI
  • dborthdborth Member Posts: 474
RE 513: It was not visible inside the car. Only a guess, but probably is mounted somehow at the time of sale / customer acceptance.
  • hjc1hjc1 Member Posts: 183
Guy's I'll bet it not a camera. Those two spots in the back are the sensors not a camera. Probably emits a tone or flashing light to warn you that you are too close to the car in back of you. $600 buck is a rip off

    RE: 516
I have never seen a back up camera with two lenses.
My back up system has 4 sensors and cost about $350.00 installed
  • gamlegedgamleged Member Posts: 442
Don't know how well it might work, but the car wash I use sells a small, battery-powered backup beeper that sticks to one of your backup light lens covers and beeps away when its photosensor detects that the backup light has turned on...about $6... :shades:
  • floridabob1floridabob1 Member Posts: 1,190
    RE;
What you are referring to is a back up alarm which emits a sound outside of the car warning people that the car is backing up.
The back up sensor is to alert the driver that the vehicle is approaching an obstacle when backing up.
Mine emits a beeping sound which gets louder the closer you are to the obstacle.
The sound becomes constant when about 1-2 feet from that obstacle.

For the month of October, $2,000 rebate for "all '07 Azera trims". No additional "loyalty" inentive. :(

I have a 2007 Azera Limited with the 3.8 V6.It has 6000 miles on it and has been back to the dealer three times for an annoying engine skip.
At any given time the check engine light comes on and the car starts bucking and skipping. The first two times the dealer said it was coil failure and this last time he said I need to use premium gasoline. I'm really convinced they do not know what the problem is.Has anyone else had a simular problem?
  • dborthdborth Member Posts: 474
Two coil failures, and a dealer takes exception to Hyundai's position of grade of fuel recommended for YOUR '07?

Have you filed a claim, requested a factory rep, started a paper trail?

    Don't tolerate it.

The dealer is an idiot if he's going to tell you that you need to use premium gas in your Azera. ALL Hyundai engines are designed to run using 87 octane gas. You have an option of going with a higher octane, but it's not required. I've been running 87 octane in my Azera for over 1.5 years and NEVER had a problem such as that. It sounds more like the dealer is being lazy and putting the problem on you. Now if you come back and say you're not using premium gas, then he'll say it's your fault. Contact the Hyundai Customer Service department and lodge a complaint. If you can, take your car to another Hyundai dealership and have them take a look at it. Explain to them the hose job the other dealer is trying to get you with so that they'll feel inclined to win your business (if they are on the up and up themselves). Please trust your gut feeling in believing they don't know what the problem is.

From the sounds of it, there are a quite a few possibilities that it could be. Maybe a bad spark plug, bad spark plug wire, could be a clog in the fuel system somewhere, could be water/moisture in your gas. There are a few things you can do yourself to cover some of those problems. There is a product I use in my gas tank with every oil change that keeps the fuel system clean and moisture free as well. It's called Berryman's Chemtool B-12.

    image
B-12 CHEMTOOL® CARBURETOR CLEANER / POUR INCleans petroleum residue and disperses moisture from fuel system, fuel injector, valves, rings, pistons, oil returns, lifters, PCV valve, and oil pump screen with High Energy Solvent Technology (H.E.S.T.). Regular use ensures higher compression, fewer repairs, lower operation costs and increased spark plug and injector life.

I totally agree with you guys. I filled up with premium today $40.25. This whole story their giving me is nothing short of a scam. I have saved all paperwork and will contact a customer rep.If this doesn't work, I'm going for the Lemon Law.
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
Has that tank of premium gas done anything for you yet?
  • dfenn1dfenn1 Member Posts: 7
Car runs the same. Its only been three days. Will keep everyone posted.
  • floridabob1floridabob1 Member Posts: 1,190
    Re: 526
Premium gas is not the problem, since almost all owners use regular with non of the problems that you are experiencing.
Perhaps you got a bad tank of gas and the problem will correct itself when it runs through. If in fact it does start to run better, it might be wise to have the gas filter changed.
A computer diagnosis should display the cause.

ok, i know this is going to sound crazy, but do you live in CT? I use to know a dfenn. I was looing up car reviews and your name looked fimiliar........

    Yes.

Ok, well I would like to catch up, if you would like to catch up send me your email address.
  • patpat Member Posts: 10,421
Actually, you may each contact each other using your carspace email accounts. That would be your username@carspace.com and then retrieved through the Mailbox link at the top of the page.

Otherwise, the best way for either of you to make another email address available is to go into your profile and make your address public. That will make it available only to logged in users, the spambots can't get it there. ;)

You don't compromise your privacy with either of these methods the way you would if you posted an address, a practice which we strongly discourage for your own safety.

It sounds like an electrical issue since it happens periodically. Skip the dealer and see an expert, or find a different dealership which actually employs a mechanic.
  • floridabob1floridabob1 Member Posts: 1,190
    RE: 534
The dealer should be able to plug in computer to read actual fault.
An expert should not be necessary.
The computer hold all faults, for later display.

I brought the car to another dealer with a good reputation. They found two bad O2 censors and a pinched wire that had to do with emissions. I just got the car back this morning. Will keep everyone posted. Thanks to everyone that posted.

My 07 Azera has a slight rattle near the drivers side somewhere in the Dashboard. Not noticeable with the radio on. Not very loud but annoying. Anyone else had this? I thought I would mention it when I go in for the 7500 mile service.Seems like finding a rattle in a dashboard might be a hopeless cause if they have to take the whole thing apart.
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
Well...if it's an annoyance, I would certainly have them take the dash apart and solve the problem. Even as an entry level luxury car, it shouldn't have any rattles. You paid your hard earned money for that car and the last thing you should have to accept are any rattles.

Hello to everyone from "Dixie". Bought a new 2007 Azera limited last Monday and also a 2007 Santa Fe. First Hyundai's to ever own. So far love the ride in the Azera and my wife loves her Santa Fe. Just wanted to say that I really like the info I am finding here. Thanks!

Welcome! There is a lively bunch here, as you may have seen - we're glad to have you on board! :shades:

Welcome and congratulations on you recent purchases. I think you'll be more than happy with both of the vehicles.
  • bamakenbamaken Member Posts: 14
Thanks allmet33......I just hope that the fuel mileage gets better. Went from a Pontiac Vibe that was getting 33 miles to the gallon to the Azera. So far gettting around 24 miles to to gallon., but the ride is oh so much better!!! :)
  • scbobscbob Member Posts: 167
Congratulations on your purchase. You may wish to check out the front end discussion as it may apply to your car. Even with the "wallowing," I am very happy with my car. I give it a 9.5 out of 10 and that's comparing it to Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, Avalon and so forth.
My 2007 Limited has 6,000 miles on it and I recently got 28 MPG driving 5 miles over the posted speed limits on a 600 mile trip. It was about 85% interstate, 10% city and 5% country roads. I am very pleased with that.
I get about 22 around town, but I live in a small town (pop. 4,400) and make very short trips. :)
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
I have seen an increase in my fuel economy as the car has been broken in. I currently have just over 40K miles on it now. On the highway, I've gotten up to 28 mpg and with straight city driving, it's been about 19 mpg. With an even mix of both, it hovers around 22-24 mpg. I could probably do better, but I'm a little heavy on the foot. I know other Azera owners have posted better numbers, so I know it's possible. Again, congratulations and happy motoring!!!
  • bamakenbamaken Member Posts: 14
Thank you scbob. So far no noises from the front end. Hopefully I will not have that problem. :)
  • bamakenbamaken Member Posts: 14
Thanks allmet33...I am hoping that it improves with each fill-up. :)
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
You have two options...sell it to someone that's looking or take it to Carmax and have them buy it from you with no obligation to buy a car from them. If I recall...there was someone posting the other day looking to buy a pre-owned Azera, however....I know not where he was located.

    Good luck!!!

    'Even with the "wallowing" '

I though you had that taken care of? :confuse:

    If not, why not? :D

I recently tried to have a duplicate key made at a local Hyundai dealer and ran into a number of problems.
    1. I was required to have a complete set (3 keys) made.
    2. I was told by the service department that they (Hyundai) could only have a total of 4 keys made to 1 vehicle at any time.
    3. Out of a set of 3 keys, only 1 could be duplidated leaving me with 2 additional useless keys at a price of $160.00
Has anyone else had this problem in getting duplicate keys made for a 07 Azera?
  • gamlegedgamleged Member Posts: 442
In about a year, I've read about someone having a replacement key made only once before, and no reference to having to buy three. I do believe that the Azera's processor can hold data for only 4 or 5 devices, whatever combination of keys and wireless remotes...

Are Hyundai dealers still trying to charge customers to activate the door lock features, seat memories, and limp home mode defaults on the 07 Azera's....They tried to pull this trick when I purchased my '06 Azera, but backed down after I talked with the GM of the dealership....

I've recently replaced the Hyundai grille on the front with a custom grille I found on the internet ... I saw someone post about being asked if their Azera was a Bentley, since I've made the change I've had someone ask me twice ... I dunno what other car in the world you can spend mid-20's on and have it look like a $250,000 car ... haha ..

There has been plenty of time I drive past someone and I actually see them turn around from walking to see what kind of car it is ... just a great feeling
  • allmet33allmet33 Member Posts: 3,557
Congrats! Enjoy the feeling, it is fun. I haven't had anyone think mine was a Bentley, but I have had one guy swear it was a BMW 730 and it has been mistaken for a Benz S-Class too.

I have sat in an office and looked outside and watch folks walk by my car, stop and look at it, in it...shake their head and walk away, then turn around and take another look. All I can do is laugh to myself.

My service manager wanted to charge me $45.00 to activate the auto door locks. I told him I was not going to pay that since it is a feature included with the car and I had read on these forums (which he has never heard of) that this is done free by many dealers upon delivery. He had me talk to my salesmen to get them to pay for it. The salesman said it was an option that I had to pay for. I told the service manager not to do it. Later as I waited for my oil change the service manager came over and told me they were going to do it free of charge. I think he figured since the engine cover was already off it wouldn't be much labor involved to program the locks and keep a customer satisfied(sort of). Anyway the moral of the story is refuse to pay and maybe they will comply. Or tell them to do it and if they try to charge you say you thought it was free since other dealers do it for free and that they will just have to unprogram the locks. If your lucky they won't think it is worth the effort!!! :)
  • bamakenbamaken Member Posts: 14
I have not had the problem of programming the door locks at my dealer. Told the service manager what I have read here and he told me they would do it for me, so I took it in and now the doors lock at 15 miles an hour, but do not unlock until you pull on the door handle. He told me that he would try to program it where it would unlock when I put it into park the next time I brought it in for servicing. We will see if he can do it.
  • dborthdborth Member Posts: 474
Re 561 "where it would unlock when I put it into park"

There are various dealer computer settings. My locks activate when placed in park and lock when placed in gear. My steering wheel lowers (key out) raises (key in). I believe they only thing that can't be programed for key out / in is side mirrors folding / unfolding.

My dealer charged $45, but I got a refund after chatting with the business manager.
