Another review that raises questions on Edmunds timing of the Rogue. Car and Driver tested a 4wd Rogue SL and their times were better than edmunds see below: TEST DATA Acceleration to mph 0-60 8.8 (Edmunds= 9.2) I just know so far my 2wd Rogue has not dissapointed me.
I recently purchased a Rogue and am absolutely smitten. I've driven around with a sh*t eating grin on my face for the last 4 or so days.
Regarding the manual mode. I must admit it's going to take me a while to get used to it. Coming from a 5 speed, 98 Impreza Outback Sport, moving to an automatic has been something of a change. Fortunately the Rogue's CVT has few of auto transmission issues that have always bugged me (namely the lurching and gear searching.) However without the visceral feel of the clutch and shifter, engine/transmission noise and vibration, shifting times do not feel as instinctual. I gather that will come with time...
Many of you love your Rogues. Pls post about your prices paid and dealer discounts over in the other board so we can be sharper when we go to the dealer.
 I sat in the Rogue ;drove it about 100 yards and looked to back up;and I had to call over salesman to return it to its slot. It really needs a backup camera. As salesman said to me; " Don't ever back up" Why can't designers design cars that you can see all around;that is just common sense !
Okay so now I am in trouble. My husband will hate that. Gee whiz I agree with you. What's up with that. How can you never back up!!!! You got me thinking now.
I'm sure the salesman was kidding. Obviously, the salesman was able to back it up and park it, so it can be done. A backup camera system would make it easier to park.
This review doesn't find significant blind spots. Cars.com
Styling If I see one more SUV with sharp, upswept rear-quarter windows, I'll know it's time to start applying for jobs in automakers' design departments, seeing as they obviously can't come up with anything better. The Rogue is yet another victim of this hackneyed design, but surprisingly the generic profile glass doesn't lead to significant blind spots here like it does in some competitors. Besides the bland styling in the car's profile, the Rogue does stand out as a thoroughly Nissan product

I find myself having to rely on the side view mirrors much more when backing up. I have not parallel parked yet so I cannot comment in that regard.
The side mirror are quite large and give a good sight picture. While I would like a larger rear aperture, I didn't and don't find it to be enough of an issue to find fault with the car.
I'm loving my Rogue, but damn it I'm afraid of getting it dirty! Being a hiker, kayaker, fisherman and all around dirty person I really need a rear cargo mat. Unfortunately I did not wrangle one in my negotiations with the dealer. Does anyone know of an after market source for something like this? So far all internet searches have been a bust.
Also has anyone tried to fit any of the aftermarket Yakima crossbar assemblies onto the rogue? I've been looking at the "Low Rider" mount but have yet to go to the store to try a fit...
I'm really suprised Nissan would put out a car this UGLY! Did they hire the designers of Hyundai or Daewoo??? Man, Nissan is really desperate I guess. lol Funny thing is people will still buy it haha
you call the Rogue UGLY!! I would call the honda crv UGLY now that is an ugly car looks like a shovel good thing more Rogue's for us if you don't go looking for one. UGLY is on the eye of the beholder..i find the Rogue to be sexy, sporty.
Yeah, one has to wonder why someone would come onto a car specific forum to say the car in question is ugly. A bit bush-league/Jr. High sort of Mentality. Ahh the internet...
Spot on though; beauty is truly in the eye of beholder. I agree the Rogue has a sporty look. It also has a practical look in my opinion. Trimmed of all fat.
But sure there are those who won't like the look of the car. Hence the fierce and somewhat varied automobile market.
"Does anyone know of an after market source for something like this?"
There's at least one company selling lots of after-market Rogue parts on Ebay. I found it when I was looking for an Iridium spoiler. (In the event I ever find my Iridium Rogue!)
I found a couple of mats, but I don't get the idea that they incorporate with the horizontal cargo hatch at the very back. Has anyone seen the cargo mat (factory or aftermarket) in action? I gather one will just have to forgo that hatch when using a mat, as I really can't see how you'd be able to incorporate it with a mat...
My accessory guy tells me that I'll need to give it about six months after the release of the new model to give the aftermarket vendors a chance to catch up. We too, are in need of a cargo mat but would still like access the undercarpet storage. We're Geo-Cachers and took the Rogue out this weekend and it was great!
:shades: Hello all, I took my 2003 Nissan 350z in for a oil change and left with a Phantom White 2008 Rogue on Oct 20th. Can we all say, "Impulse Buyer". I really like this vehicle, got the total package upgrade. Looking forward to the journey with this vehicle. OKC, OK
I bought my Rogue last Oct 6th and I love it...I test drove other SUVs, for instance, Murano, CX7, CX9 and Rav4 among others before I decided to buy this amazing vehicle and I am very sure I made the right decision. It rides really smoothly, the fuel economy is pretty good, powerfull, very spacious and my bose is exceptional. The best vehicle out ther for the $$$.
Great looking miniute compared to the others out there. Prefer the Rogue to even the CR-V which is a very nice package. Wondering if they are close price wise. I've seen prices for the whole CR-V lineup which seem very reasonable actually. And there seems to be more of an availability to find a CR-V over the Rogue. I guess in a few more months the availability of the different trim levels will increase as I predict this will be a great seller for Nissan. Always liked the Murano but it is pricey. Size wise and price wise, the Rogue seems to be the complete package. Still haven't seen many on the road though.
I bought a AWD Rogue with all the features you can imagine and it was still almost 10K less than a Murano with the same kind of features, beter MPG, Rogue is a new vehicle and of course not as common as Murano, also, I'm not going to tow cars or attach a boat to it so I don't need more power and last but no less, I don't like to go out and see everybody driving the same vehicle that I have (I know.. that means that it is a very good car, I just don't like that)... And I think those are enough reasons to buy a Rogue over a Murano!
Just saw a blue Rogue while driving home and it looked sweet...a very nice color for this car. Luckily I was at a stop light saw I got a really nice view of it. Saw a new CR-V at the next light and I'm starting to like the looks of the Rogue more now. Who'd of thought that!
Just realized I didn't even show the Paddle Shifters and some of the other cool features. But hey it was just a quickie. I didnt even think about what I was going to say, just whipped out my little "Flip" and started talking.
My "cute-ute" came in at 24,600. In addition to having the AWD Premium Package it had a bunch of other little options too.
I saw a White Rogue yesterday while I was at the stop light, it has a nice shape although i'm not a fan of the recent Nissan grills. Whomever was driving it was trying to gun it down the road, a pot hole infested road at that. Not the smartest move, but understandable if they were test driving it since the Nissan dealership was two blocks away.
Just like rental cars, folks just drive the hell out of 'em. Haven't seen a white Rogue yet but the blue looked real sharp and I've seen a bunch down here in South Florida. Wonder if the rental companies have bought any for their fleets yet? Seen a bunch of Hyundai sport utes at the local Enterprise lot and even saw a '07 Accord there also. Hardly ever see Honda's at most rental companies, had heard that Honda's not into fleet sales as much as the other brands. Do think that the Rogue will steal some sales from the CR-V and if Nissan can keep the price a bit lower, that'll help seal the deal.
Of course it will steal "some" sales of the CR-V. It is a newly created model that is in the same general size and price range. Some people who were going to buy a CR-V if the Rogue didn't exist will stop by a Nissan dealer and look at the Rogue and some of those end up buying a Rogue.
Great video. I'm sat here in UK thinking "Nissan Rogue ? What's that look like ?". Now I know. We have it in Europe but it's called the Nissan Qashqai - honest, no spelling mistake. Variants are FWD or 4WD. 1.6 and 2.0 gasoline or 1.5 diesel and the 2.0 gasoline has an Auto 'box option. 4WD is for 2.0 gas only; others are only FWD. Prices range from - in USD equiv - 29,700 to 43,900 before you add any options. They are getting some very good reviews and are credited with identifying a new niche market, here in UK at least.
Naming is weird. Here in UK we have the Nissan Note. Same car in Ireland is the Nissan Tiida. It's a 5-door subcompact, (I guess), with 1.4 and 1.6 gasoline and the 1.5 diesel.
As you probably know, if you want to sell in Europe you have to have a diesel available; although the Honda Jazz (Fit) gets away without one and is still very popular.
If I'm not mistaken, Isn't the qashqai selling very well in europe? I seem to remember reading a lot about the big plant in england (sunderland?) having trouble keeping up. I thought i read that they had to expand it, and are now manufacturing it in japan and exporting to europe to meet demand.
Hi Linda, I watched your video and am thinking different about the Iridium color now. At first, I didn't think it looked masculine (kind of "girly"), but like it now. Great job with the video, by the way.
I was wondering if the floor mat in the video, with the Rogue logo, was purchased or came with your Rogue. If purchased, where from and how much? It's hard to tell if it's a carpeted floor mat or all weather (rubber) mat.
Hello there. Well, I am a new Rogue convert! I have been in the market for a new car for some time, but really take a slow approach. I have been a loyal Subaru Outback owner for two different cars now. I was looking at the 2008 Outback, but really wanted Bluetooth, and some other "creature comforts".
We test drove the Rogue this weekend and it was much better than we ever thought. There is enough power, and cargo room for all of my needs. I am a 36 y/o with no kids in the future. The height, driving dynamics and options are perfectly in line with what I was looking for. After driving the RAV4 V6, I realized Toyota has only the engine going for it. The RAV4 just felt cheaper to me.
I am going back this week to see what I can get for pricing/options on the Rogue. I have viewed only one leather SL but drove the cloth. I am going to order (if all goes well) an SL AWD with the Premium and Moonroof and Leather options in the VENOM RED. Great color!
I just had a quick question and I think that someone mentioned it before. I was looking for the Kick Plates but only see them available on the S model. Has anyone tried for the Kick Plates on the SL ???? Odd that it is not offered on the high-end line.
Thanks to everyone for their great posts with the reviewer links.
Ya I don't think the Iridium is too feminine at all. In fact it looks more purple in the video than it does most of the time in real life. Most of the time it looks more cocoa/platinum.
Floor mats came with the car from the dealer so they were added to the price. They are carpeted and very nice quality.
Enjoy your new Rogue when you get it. It's a great ride!
Thanks for the video! I'm considering the rogue more seriously after test driving it recently, but I didn't like the color choices until I saw Linda's video with the iridium graphite.
I still have some concerns about the rogue versus the murano, as I'm looking for a "primary baby mobile" type car. I'm not sure how much room I really will need for our new family addition.
Has anyone tested car seats in the rogue? There's plenty of info on the family friendliness of the Murano, less so on the rogue. THen again, the rogue isn't aimed at families I guess.
I sent for a brochure recently, and it came in the mail. And recently another ad came in offering a $50 gift card if I took the paperwork to a local dealer and verified that I test drove the car{Rogue}. If you haven't yet , send in for a brochure. Not sure if it is being offered only in S.Calif.
I'm in N. Calif. and received the same offer after my brochure arrived. I may test drive over the weekend. There's an auto show up here this weekend with the '08 models, and I want to look at the Rogue without a sales person looking over my shoulder.

Got it for $1,000 off MSRP.
Did a REAL QUICK video. The sun is shining through the trees which makes it look like I have an uneven paint job,
but it's just the light.
So here's my Rogue Video. :shades:
I also showed how the Intelligent Key works and a couple other things.
Enjoy!

It seems to me Nissan put a great deal of thought and planning into this area when designing the Rogue ....
