Thank you for posting your case number. At this point, the offer that your District Specialist made is the final offer we can make. I'm sorry that this wasn't a satisfactory resolution for you.

If that offer is the best you can do God help the rest of you poor GM customers because they will drag this out and screw you in the end like they have so many other customers.
PS. I am not going away anytime soon. So put your big girl pants on cause I'm here to stay until I see some change in how you handle this situation.
If we can check for any open recalls on your Avalanche, please email us at socialmedia@gm.com with the last 8 of your VIN and we'll go from there!
All the best,
Sarah

I understand that most new car electronics are complex and one out of several thousand relay switches in the vehicle can fail, but I'm just not keen to spend an additional 300-400 dollars on fixing something that looks like its a known issue.
Hopefully this matter can be resolved as I have seen plenty of responses from the GM reps.
Thanks
Roberto

Has anyone had any luck getting GM to help with the problem after your vehicle is out of warranty?
this seems to be a safety issue that should be looked into. Thanks for any help or advice you might have.
I'm sorry for the confusion! We can be reached at socialmedia@gm.com.

As for the electrical problems; thank goodness the random "not starting" problem has ceased miraculously on its own (after replacing a 2 1/2 year old battery on an expensive vehicle - there is a separate forum on this issue for anyone who has experienced the Tahoe acting totally dead when trying to start it after having just shut it off 5 minutes earlier (CD player cycles on and off or door locks switch up and down a few times); maybe it was around the time the door locks failed, or the backup warning beeps and door open beeps went almost silent, or the front driver's door speaker started not working and then working sporadically?
I am just thankful that now with only 2 functioning door locks, I no longer have children in car seats (and almost always drive without passengers)!!!!! I didn't even realize how lucky I was that it was the driver's door that failed until I realized it is THE ONLY DOOR THAT CAN BE OPENED WITH A KEY!!!! If you take away all the other options of opening the door you should make sure the single point of failure isn't going to fail. There I feel better now.
You are very welcome. I also sent you an email if you haven't yet received it. Thank you for the update and sharing your experience. It was my pleasure to work with you!

So both rear door actuators happen to go bad at the same time but they claim it's not an electrical issue, and they aren't covered. To the tune of $900 getting the parts at cost.
I will never buy Chevy again (told myself that last time) and will make sure I tell friends the same.
What a joke it's obvious this part should be recalled and covered for all the people with the issue on all years.
Good old american quality.
Hopefully there will be a class action lawsuit forthcoming since GM obviously won't address this obvious design flaw/issue.
If you haven't gotten in touch with us already by email (socialmedia@gm.com), please send us the following information as we would be happy to look further into this with you:

I am just really disheartened with Chevrolet. They used to be such a great company. I am all for buying American, but can now understand why people go to foreign makers. If Chevy would just recall the known issues and get it overwith. They should realize by now that saving money by not recalling and fixing the known issues is costing them return customers. I have a 2000 GMC truck that I love, it is a tank. BUT, I will never by a new Chevy product again until they make things right. I will be trading in my Tahoe next year. My extended warranty is getting ready to expire and I do not want to put the money into something that I will get no return for.
