But it is possible for the Italians to make an ugly production car. Not usual, but possible. Some designs from Frua and Ghia have not been...swell....
Was something put in the water in Detroit in 1958-62? Design people must have been having bad dreams.
I was ten years old when the 57 Plymouth was introduced with the hige tailfins, and all the billboards touted it as "The car of 1962 -- TODAY!"
Ironically, by 1962, all vestiges of tailfins were gone (may they rest in eternal torment).

The sad thing about the '61 Plymouth is that just about all of it's ugliness resides up front in its "face". Otherwise, the body's actually not that bad. Just reinforces my theory though, that they started making Plymouths look ugly on purpose so that people would spend a few more bucks on a Coronet or Dart!
