    Hi Guys,

    What money factor should I bargain for leasing the IS350 2007 (36 months & 15K miles) if I have only 650 FICO credit score? I see that the 0.00175 was listed for those who have 730+ FICO. But, what about 650? Any idea?

    I'm having considerable vibration with my rearview mirror when the sunroof is open and driving over 50mph. So much so that you really can't use the mirror.
    I think that I read about a similar complaint several months ago on this site, but I can't locate the entry.
    I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is a service bulletin about this issue.
    I've discussed it with the Lexus dealer but they don't know how to fix it.

    apparently the seats have been altered to increase rear leg room for the '08s, has anyone compared the 07 to see if the rear leg room has improved significantly?

    I've been calling a few dealerships in the SF Bay Area (California) and have been told that the only available Lexus IS 250s are equipped with Luxury Pkg + 18" wheels w/ Nav or Luxury Pkg + 18" wheels w/o Nav.

    I'm new to the car buying experience, and am wondering, if this is true for all of California, what are my options (besides biting the bullet and purchasing the upgrades)? I looked on carsdirect.com, and the price that popped up is a few bucks below invoice for a baseline model (for my zipcode). Does this mean that there's a dealership semi-close that can sell me the baseline model?

    Based upon my recent buying experience in the Bay Area, the vast majority have RWD, auto, "Premium Pkg" with 18 inch Summer tires, heated and ventilated seats, etc and HID headlamps. This is not the same as the Luxury pkg which has memory seats, tilt down right side mirror, sunshade and more. I could not locate a Luxury pkg on a 250 anyplace in the area and the $ deals were much better on the premium pkg. Got a very good deal at Colliseum in Oakland.

    I'm trying to decide weather or not to lease the IS. I think it's a great automobile. I'm sercure in masculinity but am curious what the general consensus is on this car.

    Certainly it appeals to both men and women but generally speaking is this more of a 'chick' car??

    How does anyone know that you have a 250 RWD unless they are close enough to read the back of it. Strange question to ask: if you really like the car and are secure, do you really care what somebody else will think?? Not trying to incite but I had a BMW before and those folks think anyone driving a Lexus is a retiree and/or cannot be a true car enthusiast!

    I've tried the search function, but I can't seem to find any non-2005-2006 posts on this subject. Does anyone have any information on if/when the IS coupe is coming out? Edmunds' Inside Line Future Vehicle List states that an IS 350 Coupe is slated for release in the summer of 2008. Here is what they said:

    What Edmunds.com Says:With a coupe and convertible in the IS lineup, Lexus will finally have some leverage against the almighty BMW 3 Series.

    What We Know: The 2009 Lexus IS 350 coupe is one of those cars that we expected to show up years ago. It's no secret that Lexus was targeting the BMW 3 Series with the IS lineup, so the lack of a coupe variant has been a little surprising. Although no prototypes have been spotted yet, a report in the trade publication Automotive News says to expect to see the IS 350 coupe by mid-2008. A hardtop convertible is expected to follow a year later.

    I am 6'1 with super long thighs and I can find a comfortable driving position in my IS350. However, if you are planning on putting people behind the driver seat in a regular basis then my suggestion is to look else where.

    I'm 5-11 and find the leg room marginal. I'd strongly suggest you see your dealer for an extensive road test.

    I love manuals and I saw that Lexus offers one in the base. I haven't started cruising dealer lots yet but was wondering people encountered them on the lots and if anyone here has one.

    There are only automatic transmissions. I tried asking Lexus about the coupe version and they said something like "we have not publicized anything about a coupe version for 2009"

    I can't seem to find any information about the release date and expected changes for the 2009 IS 250 / 350. I'm currently looking for a new 2008 but I was curious about the 2009 refresh.

    Does anybody have any details to share? I'm surprised that this late there hasn't been any reviews or sneak pictures.

    I live in New Jersey and find it impossible to get a IS250 RWD with a automatic in this state. How far do you have to go to get one? I even called Lexus of Silver Spring's in Maryland and cannot get one there. Have people in Virginia gotten one? North Carolina?

    They have the ability to look at what is coming into port directly, and if not pre-sold, get a particular car diverted for you. You may be limited with some options, but this is one way to get a car close to what you may want.

    I have a G35 and was thinking of getting the IS this lease-go-round, but I've been just completely baffled by the lack of 350s with luxury package availability. It seems all I can find is one or two pieces of the packages, and I'm rather loath to buy a $40K car that lacks something as basic as memory seats.

    At any rate, dealer thinks he's found a 2008 with luxury that he can get (500 miles away). Not sure I should gamble and hope for a 2009 with such options. Anyone who's been through this before, what do you think? Am I dreaming to think there might actually be a 2009 350 w/ luxury pkg AND nav when they're released?

    I was just in to the dealer today for service and chatted with the sales guy .... and was amazed to find out that all their 2008 350's, and their allotments of ISF's, where sold out long ago. I think the power plant in the 350 is far more in demand than Lexus has planned for.

    .... a ton of miles on it, a 2007 should still be under warranty. Why not consider taking it to the dealer?

    i have a lot of wind noise - been to the dealer twice they adjusted" it - not surprisingly, the issue persists, anyone else have a similar issue?

    ..... and not being successful, try to get Lexus Corporate involved. Sometimes they will send a top tech out for a particular issue that a dealer is having a problem with.

    My 350 has higher wind noise than i would have expected, however i believe it's mostly due to the huge side mirrors. Many other cars have a smaller more streamlined design ..... however i love these large mirrors and would not trade them for a smaller, less functional, but "cool", mirror.

    mine is definitely the sunroof, when i close the hade it disappears, its night and day. debating whether to complain again (3rd time) or just learn to deal with it.

    my side mirros are quiet. i also like the size, since the visibility is very good.

    Is this still the case? I was looking to get an IS soon - pref an IS 350 - and really would like to get a manual. You're saying that there are only really Automatics around? (I'm in Laurel, MD - Baltimore/Washington DC/Northern VA area)

    No manual tranny for the IS350 and don't hold your breath for it either.

    "louiswei" is correct ... no manual for the 350 .... 250 only.

    I seem to recall one writeup on the 350 where the writer claimed he could knock a second off 0-60 by manually shifting the "tiptronic" 350 (as opposed to letting the tranny shift itself). I don't know about that as i have never bothered to compare.

    Its plenty fast as it is .... i do a lot of city driving and am happy to be clutchless.

    Thanks for getting back to me louiswei, and thanks for your feedback too kc567567. I'm not terribly familiar with the IS and have just started looking into it. Back in 2003, I bought a used Blue 2001IS 300 when I got my first job out of college and loved the car. But in early '04, someone rear ended me into the car in front of me and my car died on the spot. I just ended up buying an '04 Accord which has served me well, but I'd like to own an IS again. Let's see what I can find and for how much around the DC area. I definitely want to buy new. I'll look into specifics on how the IS 250 & 350 differ, but I'm leaning towards the IS350.

    I've been going nuts with the teases of an IS 250 coupe from various auto mags. Since it isn't here yet, and they just did a refresh for 2009, I'm thinking it isn't coming, or at most, will come with the next full redesign. Does anyone know when that is? Thanks

    The IS coupe is coming in early 2009. You can do a google search for either "IS250 Coupe" or "IS250C".

    The newsletter from our local dealer also shows the IS convertible, featuring a retractable roof like the SC. It will arrive late spring 2009.

    The Lexus site has pics of the new hardtop convertible, which is also a coupe. Don't know if it is the only version they will be offering. I have to admit that I though a coupe would be a lot cooler looking. The original 4-door looks better than the hardtop convertible coupe with the top up.

    Hardtop convertible is the only 2-door version that will be offered. No coupe.

    Did you examine how the IS 250 & 350 differ? That would make a great post here. I'm looking at 2006-07, IS 250 AWD for the Pacific Northwest. Not sure about the 300-350. Did you make a buy?

    Has anyone else heard that they might be making an IS 2-door hardtop (with sun roof) hybrid coupe? At the LA Auto Show last year, I told one of the salesmen that I would be very interest in a model with these feature (I don't want a convertible and I don't want a 4-door) and was told it might be in the works for 2010. I definitely would buy this car and was wondering if anyone knows if this is a real possibility.

    No, I always knew I wanted an IS 350. i'm pretty sure that it's mainly about performance w/ the IS 350 because of the better engine. Not sure about what else. I think you get better rims than w/ the IS 250 off the lot.. not sure about other differences. But if you want to drive, you'd go w/ the IS 350 (what I went w/ in January of this year :) ).

    Lexus dealers are modifying gas pedals and updating software for brake override for ES and IS vehicles that are in last year's recall for unintended acceleration.

    The entire 2010 lexus convertible line have rattling front windows-
    put the top down and only the front windows all the way up- a 1/4 inch gap exists between the front windows and windshield- result: rattling windows over bumpy roads- Lexus has PUT in WRITING that all their convertibles are designed to rattle and it considered NORMAL by them with NO remedy. Please visit your local dealer for a complete demonstration. My car will arbitrated through Lexus in the few days. I wonder how long it took the Lexus enginneers to complete the RATTLE design? and for what purpose?- perhaps to keep you awake during long drives- all for 50K.

    I talked to a head mechanic last night who works at the Porshe dealership and he told me mid grade would be fine. He said for "optimal" performance, use premium. I've never had one of these high end cars before. I've had nissan maximas since 2006 and wanted to try something a bit more luxurious, yet sporty. The maxima was too big for me and I love the look and size of the IS. I hope I'm going to love it, I hate that it's so pricey! ...torn...uggh

    Did you look at the newest maxima's? I have a 2006 max as well, and the new ones are a bit smaller / sportier. I'm considering either a 2012 Maxima, Lexus IS, or Infinity G37 - but the price gap of the actual purchase prices (not MSRP) is making it hard to ignore the Max.
