Hi,

I am leasing a new 2015 A8 NWB and hope someone here can help.

I was given a MF of .00131 for 36 month lease
Residual of 49% for 12K and 47% for 15K

Does this seem right?

If this is the 3.0T engine, then I show .00097 MF and 49% residual for 36mo, 15K/yr, and 51% for 12K/yr.

However... those are current numbers through July 1st. I don't have any information on a July program, after that.

Doc fee is based on where you live. Standard acquisition fee from Audi is $695.

Could you please comment on the MF and residual on a gas powered 2015 A8L 4.0T for 36mos/15K miles?

Current offer on above vehicle is MSRP 103,875; sales price after rebates $92529; payment of $1639/month. The dealership has to bring in the vehicle from another state (1500 miles away) and will cover the cost of transportation. Is this a reasonable deal?

Could you please comment on the best way to negotiate once knowing the real MF and residual? Thanks.

.00014 and 44% for 36/15. With your MSRP and sale price, I get a pre-tax payment of $1320.02. You want to ensure the dealer is using the base MF, then negotiate the lowest sale price.

Dealer is saying they don't do MSDs anymore but I figure I can deal with that by being informed and working with finance manager. How much is each security deposit, and the max is 9? And each drops money factor by .00005? I'm assuming there is a floor as well?

I suppose the minimum on the MSD is 1 - and yes, maximum is 9 @ .00005 each.

If your dealer is in NY State then MSD's are not allowed by NY law.

I'm not aware of any state restrictions against MSDs in Florida - this may be a dealer choice. If you want to do MSD (and I recommend that you do, if you can afford the up front cash), you might want to find another dealer.

To go from 36/10 to 42/10, add .0002 to the MF and subtract 4% from the residual.

Yes, subtract 1% to go from 10K to 12K and 3% to go from 10K to 15K.

These are going to be expensive to lease, any way you look at it.

Can I please get 15k/36 month MF and residuals for the following:

    1. 2015 A8 3.0T Quattro
    2. 2015 A8 3.0T Quattro LWB
    3. 2015 A8 4.0T Quattro LWB

Also, when I configure a car on audiusa.com and then use their lease payment calculator it takes the $2000 new owner acquisition incentive off the MSRP of the car. I don't think this makes sense as I would think the $2000 would reduce the capitalized cost instead. If the $2000 truly does reduce the MSRP it changes the payments quite a bit vs the alternative.

You are right... if the calculator takes the $2000 incentive off the MSRP, for the purposes of calculating the residual, then that's wrong. The only way to know if that's correct, is to take the residual (if given) and compare it to the original MSRP.

Manufacturer website calculators aren't reliable, either way. Sometimes they use the "standard" money factor, rather than the one that is applicable to the particular model. The only way to be sure, is to do the calculations, yourself.

Well the calculator on audiusa.com worked when I leased my last car although there wasn't a situation with this sort of incentive. The reason I use it is to try and double-check or reverse-engineer the money factor and residual when used in conjunction with my own lease calculator.

Not certain you can reverse engineer the MF, but if it's worked for you in the past ....
Well they usually give you the residual, MSRP, selling price, and monthly payment without tax so just 1 unknown there.
