Gap insurance covers the "gap" between what your insurance company will pay for your vehicle if it is totaled in an accident or stolen and what you still owe on your lease. Some banks automatically include gap insurance in their leases, while others do not. If this is something that you are interested in, make sure to check to see if the bank that you are planning on leasing through includes it or if it will cost extra.

What is a good price for Gap Insurance when you
lease a Toyota Camry LE from the Dealer?
I am interested in 12K & 15K miles for 36 months. Honda includes Gap but Toyota Dealers have a separate individual selling the insurance.
Just wondering what are the April figures for the Buick RDV. I am looking for residual and moeny factor for 36 and 48 month programs (12k miles/yr). Also, is there any dealer or consumer lease cash available?
Finally, what does GM charge for the aquisition fee for leases?
Thanks - Damon
Thank you so much for the information. I definitely will go with 15K/yr. 36 month lease. NJ sale tax is 6%, so my monthly payment should be around $308 X 1.06 = $326.48. Is this correct? Also you mentioned the MO for 36 month lease is .00096, is this good only for April? What is the residual for 15K/yr. 36 month?
I'll work with some local Honda dealers to get the deal and will keep you updated.
Thanks again for your great help!

Great thread, I appreciate the opportunity you give to all of us potential leasees to level the playing ground w/ dealers. I am looking at leasing a S60R. I haven't negotiated a price with a dealer yet (I live in Terre Haute, Indiana and I'll have to travel a ways to the nearest Volvo dealers), so I can't run specific numbers by you. But I would like to know what the manufacturer leasing numbers are for the S60R, money factor and residual. I am looking at 36 months and 12K/15K miles/year. If I elected to order a vehicle through the overseas delivery program, would I be able to lock in a lease deal now or would I have to wait until I actually take possession of the vehicle. You mentioned in a previous message that the dealers can survey non-captive lease deals for specific vehicles with much greater ease, would they get a better deal if I leased through Volvo than a third party bank? I ask because it seems that w/ the 4K lease cash available for non-captive leases, I should be able to get a better deal through a third party, maybe by using leasecompare.com.
Thanks in advance,
mabubba
The special lease money factor that Honda is providing on the '04 Odyssey is scheduled to run through May 3rd. However, given the fact that Honda has been providing support on this van for the past several months I would not be surprised if it was continued or even enhanced after that date. AHFC's current 3 year, 15,000 miles per residual value for the 2004 Honda Odyssey EX w/rear entertainment is 59%.
Make sure to come back and let us know how everything turns out.

Can you provide me the APril lease data for an A4 3.0 Quattro Cabriolet in Virginia for 36 months at 12,000 miles? Also, do you know if Audi is requiring a lease acquisition fee for current Audi owners? Many thanks!!
John

Audi Financial Services' current base lease acquisition fee is $575 in most states. I do not positive, but I do not believe that it waives this fee for returning lessees.

24 months/30K miles and 36 months/45K miles?
$0 down payment.
Thanks.
If you could give me the MF and residuals in effect for April on the Murano, I'd be grateful. I'm primarily looking at the 4WD SL for 36 or 39 months, at 12k/year, in NJ. What sort of fees apply on these leases?
If there are any differences between the SE and SL, or if the selected options are a factor, I'd like to know that as well.
Fantastic service you're providing! Thanks!
- Doug
CAR_MAN, any insight into the Volvo Finance numbers on a OSD vehicle?--do you have access to these? If so, specifically I'm looking for a 48 mon@12 miles/yr lease. Although, according to mabubba, I won't be able to even order until July--I would still like to know what sort of differential there is between dealer inventory/custom orders and OSD vehicles.
mabubba, any word on when the Grand Prix incentive starts?
Thanks again!!
Any changes on the BMW 330xi lease programs for April? (12K/36months - last month was 60%, .001)
Thanks.
I need your advise. In my first negotiation salvo with a local dealer, I have the following offer. MSRP $43,520, selling price $40,000 for a silver automatic, w/ premium & touring package & 18" wheels S60R that is on the dealer's lot. The lease quote was $680-690 for 36 month and 12K miles/year or $690-700 and 15K miles/ year with no money down. These numbers seem totally out of line to me. I don't have a residual or money factor information to tell if this is a decent offer. Can you help?
Thanks,
John

545i
MSRP: $62,280
Cap Cost: $59,797
Money Factor: .00215
Residual: 62%
Out of Pocket: $2400
Any help would be greatly appreciated. State of NJ.
36mon @ 12k: 456ish (before tax)
36mon @ 15k: 480ish (before tax)
To even come close to the dealer's 700 for 15k/yr I had to use a MF of .003 (7.2%!) and RV or 49%. Something's fishy with that deal.
I'm sure Car_Man will have the answer...
What is the money factor and residual on the 325i at 15K and at 12K? and is it the same for the 325 Ci?
Can you provide with a sample lease payment on the following?
Option One:
BMW 325i
My Price 29962
MSRP 31520
24 months at 12K year and at 15K year
Option Two:
BMW 325Ci
My Price 32289
MSRP 32645
24 Months at 12K and at 15K year
Thank You so much!
I'm planning to take European Delivery of a BMW 330i w/ sports package, moonroof, metallic paint, xenon lights and cold weather package. I plan to take delivery in August. Can you quote me reasonable terms for a 3 year/15,000 mile lease with no money down? Is it important to "lock in" before BMWFS lease terms change at the start of April? Should I expect to get any better than $1000 lower than European delivery MSRP with options? Thanks.

Option 1: According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2004 BMW 325i with a full MSRP of $31,520 and a selling price of $29,962 through BMW Financial Services this month for 2 years with 15,000 miles per, your zero down, pre-tax monthly lease payment should be right around $382. The payment for an otherwise identical lease with only 12,000 miles per year would drop to around $356.
Option 2: According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2004 BMW 325Ci with a full MSRP of $32,645 and a selling price of $32,289 through BMW Financial Services this month for 2 years with 15,000 miles per, your zero down, pre-tax monthly lease payment should be right around $528. The payment for an otherwise identical lease with only 12,000 miles per year should be $502.
As you can see, even if these cars' selling prices were identical the 325i would have a lower lease payment than the 325Ci because it has higher residual values. Furthermore, I don't see why you weren't able to negotiate more of a discount on the coupe.

Thanks for the information you provided. My local dealer provided me a quote on a Equinox LT for $359.44 a month including 6% sales tax and no money down. He used 54% residual and 4% money factor numbers. The MSRP of the vehicle is $28645 and GMS price is $25604. Does this sound like a good deal to you?
Thanks for your help!
Would you happen to know the lease numbers for the Saab 9-3? Here is what I'm looking for...
2004 Saab 9-3 Linear Sedan
MF and Residual for:
36,39,42 months
10,000 miles per year
I live in CT if it matters...
Thanks!!!
Do you have the money factors/ residuals for the new Toyota Solara Convertible SLE V6 for 36months/12K miles? (w/ Nav system in Washington State if it matters).
Thanks in advance.
I'm looking at a 2004 XC 70 (loaded, MSRP ~40,140). Thanks to you, I learned how to calculate all the numbers years ago, so if possible, could I get MF and residuals on 42 (which they are pushing) and 48 month leases for 10k miles/year?
I'm in San Fran, CA if this helps - any other deals I should be aware of other than that listed in Edmunds main section.
Thanks in advance! Best regards, Adam
Thank you for the sample lease payment. I have decided to go with the 325i sedan given it's higher residual.
Can you provide me the following information:
1. Current Money Factor
2. Residual for 12K and for 15K at 24 months
3. Associated Fees:
I have read about MACO and training fees--are these legitimate fees?
I am aware of a BMW acquisition fee, how much is this and possibly a security deposit (as a first time BMW leasee).
Any feedback on what fees are legitimate and what fees aren't would be greatly appreciated!
My quote:BMW 325ci coupe
Titanium silver metallic
Black Leather
Premium package
Sport package
Steptronic automatic
Heated front seats
MSRP $37,895.00
Sell price $35,900 with floor mats
Lease 15,000 miles per year
36 months, 57% residual,.00125 MF
$492.32 / month
New plates, reg , tire fee etc $167.50
Security deposit ( refundable at lease end ) $500
Taxes $1,462.19(in ny we have to pay upfront)
Total amount due at signing $2,612.01
lease acquisition was $800 rolled into cap cost.
I drove off the same day and never looked back. Thanks Car man.
