2015 Ford Explorer XLT lease questions

Can anyone help me with a 2015 lease on an explorer XLT with an msrp of 43615.00? I am looking for 36 months or more, and 12 to 15k per year. I have never leased anything not sure exactly how it works. How do I calculate the monthly payment? And how much is typical in fees upfront?

To calculate the lease, you need the MSRP (which you have) and a selling price. You negotiate the selling price, just like you would if you were buying the car. There is a $1250 lease cash incentive from Ford on this model.

Here are the other variables you'll need from the lease program on this model.
0.75% APR. 53% residual for 36mo, 15K/yr.
You can convert the APR to a money factor by dividing by 2400 (.00031, in this case).

Leasing is pretty much like buying from a fee standpoint, except the leasing bank charges an acquisition fee. It's around $600-$700. Other than that, just title/license/doc fees. The only fees you need pay upfront are the government fees and the 1st payment. Everything else can be rolled into the CAP cost (amount financed).

Taxation varies, depending on state. Some states tax the monthly payment, which is collected each month. Others charge tax upfront.

The 36mo, 12K/yr residual is 2% higher than the 15K/yr residual.

24mo, 10.5K/yr = 0.25% APR and 65% residual.

FWD residuals:

36/15 - XLT - 52%

36/15 - Limited - 49%

Subtract 2% for 39 months. Add 2% for 12K miles per year.

.75% MF with $1750 lease cash.

51% residual for 36/13.5K

If you are getting A-plan pricing, not sure that the lease cash would also apply. Check with your dealer for details.

If this is X-plan (suppliers, etc.) then I think the lease cash is available.

Then add GA Ad Velorum Tax $2,918 + Acquisition $645 minus Ford Incentive $1,500 for a Net Cap Cost of $45,294.
What is the current RV and MF for a 36mo/12k lease? What is the monthly payment amount you come up with?

With your numbers, I'm showing a payment of $629.42. That ad valorem tax really hurts.

Thanks Michaell! I had seen a 0.6% lease rate on Motortrend but didn't notice that it is for the base trim until now. Appreciate your help in getting the right values for this trim. Is there a big difference in February residuals between 10.5, 12, and 13.5K on this trim?

Subtract 1% to go from 10.5K to 12K, and 2% to go from 10.5k to 13.5k.
