Now that the lease information is up on the mbusa website...is there an answer to my earlier question? Thank you!

    Thank you!

    .00166 MF and 60% residual for 36mo, 12K/yr.

We would need a proposed selling price to calculate a lease payment.

Residual is set by the bank and cannot be modified.

.00166. You can use autopay to lower it to .00156.

Dealer in the Buffalo, NY area told me the auto-pay discount was no longer available (I have it on my current lease program for a C300). Has anyone been offered it recently on the GLC or other 2016 Mercedes models??

    3 year prepaid maintenance*

    3 year prepaid maintenance*

$4800 off MSRP is more than I would have thought, though giving some of that back with that monster $700 dealer fee..

But, those numbers are for a purchase, not a lease. The taxes might be different, and there is no mention of the acquisition fee. Which state do you live in? And, what is your tax rate?

Didn't say it was bad, just that they are giving you purchase information and not lease information. Some of it's valid and some isn't (like the taxes). They push a bunch of numbers at you, some of which aren't relevant, and some information missing, then give you a monthly payment, like those numbers led directly to the calculation, when they didn't.

So, here is what we have:

    $52025 MSRP
    $47222 Selling price
    $795 acquisition fee
$700 dealer fee (shew.. but, typical for Florida)
    $1600 negative equity

    Adding the four numbers:
    $50317 CAP cost

    .00166 MF and 60% residual for 36/12.

    Payment = $666/mo.+tax = $706/mo.

Due at signing = 1st payment + $335.25 title/license fees (from your worksheet).
    $1040

So, $1040 upfront and $706/mo. thereafter.

About $50/mo. of that is your negative equity.

This seems high! My sticker was $55,300 and final selling price was $51,500 or somewhere around there. Lease for 36 months and 12K miles was $648/mo. No down payment other than taxes up front.

can you tell me if the numbers change a lot??

with 10K/yr, the residual goes up 1% and the payment comes down $13-$15/mo.

A good rule of thumb, for ANY lease, is that the total payments + drive off divided by months should be in the 1% of the MSRP of the car.

For example, a car with a 50K sticker should be around $500 per month to lease. Anything less is generally a good car to lease, more than 1.2x is either a bad lease or a car you shouldn't lease.

I'm currently leasing a 2015 Ford Edge (MSRP 42K) for $392 including 9% tax. I had zero drive off - on a 36 month/10500 mile lease, I have a total of 35 payments...my monthly is effectively 381, or well under that 1% mark.

If you're flexible, and don't fall in love with a particular car, you can save a lot of money. Remember: You're just renting the car anyway!
