I'm looking at a 2016 BMW X5 xdrive35i. Will you tell me what you think of the following?

Location: IL

Lease Miles = 12K/Year

Lease Term = 36 Months

MSRP = 71,029

Net cap cost = 69657 (tax capped)

Residual = 41,908

MF = .00168

Down = 0

Monthly Payment including tax = 960 per month

At inception pay = first payment, 169.27 doc fee, 221 for license plates.

I'm at $958/mo with those numbers, so pretty close to your quote.

However, the MF is marked up from the base of .00138 - that is adding about $30-35/mo to your payment.

1. Do you think I am getting a good deal (% off msrp)
2. The net cap cost has 925 of acquisition fee in it. Is this typical?
3. Do dealers ever give the base mf?

1. We don't track selling prices, but for BMW, 5-7% off sticker is a decent discount
2. $925 acquisition fee is standard with all BMW leases
3. Yes, we have folks posting their deal details all the time where the base MF is used

Okay, so $67,182 is the adjusted CAP cost.

Using an MF of .00089 (.00138 - .00049) = $845/mo.

I assume you are at $915/mo.?

There must be some other charges involved.. because even a maximum MF markup of .00040 only gets you to $888/mo.

So, something is off.. way off.

Also, MSD amounts are rounded up to the next $50 increment. So at $915/mo, it would be 7 X $950.

Got it , thank you. It's interesting. If you go to the BMW website lease calculator and adjust the numbers so it is based on around 67000, it comes out to 953/mo. I wonder if the MSD brings it to 914/mo

No. BMW reset the acquisition fee earlier this year. Now $925, and the dealer is not allowed to mark it up.
