2016 Impala - Engine Power is Reduced Message

I have a 2016 Impala LTZ with less then 7k miles on the car. This morning on my commute to work, I got 2 message pop up on the car "engine power is reduced" and "Stabilltrak". The car started slowing down noticeably but I was in bumper to bumper traffic so the deceased speed was not an issue. I pulled over and shut the car off and on to see if anything needed to be "reset". I started the car and the warnings went away. As I was merging onto the interstate, the warning popped back up and the car slowed down to below 20 MPG's. I was unable to accelerate to properly merge onto a busy interstate. Then the car started jerking back and forth before shutting off!! This was a VERY frightening experience. I called and GM roadside assistance towed the vehicle to the dealership where they are telling me the computer is reading something about my fuel injection system. This is very concerning to me due to the age and low mileage on the car. Has anyone else experienced this issue??

    Hello amargolis1,

We're very sorry to hear about this experience with your Impala, as this is certainly something we don't like to hear. We would welcome the opportunity to provide an extra layer of assistance as you work with your dealership to resolve this. If interested, please send us a private message with your VIN, full contact information, and the name of your involved dealership.

We look forward to your response,

Yeah, lots of GM owners of various makes are struggling with this. The remedy is some dogged detective work, since "Stabilitrak" isn't actually a thing--it's a system of interconnected parts, modules and sensors. So the issue could be throttle body, accelerator pedal sensor, wiring issues, steering angle sensor, etc etc. There's no one answer here.

I as well own a newer chevrolet impala and Is experienced these same frightening car problems with my children in the vehicle. I understand your situation while on a freeway. My car is currently at the shop, but what concerns me the most is I was experiencing reduced power way before the car even gave me a check engine light or code.  I'm scared to drive the vehicle after its given back. Because I went to the dealership and told them what happened before it happened again. Only to not have the issue fixed is disappointing
