Hi,

Can I get the numbers for 2016 Soul Base AT and Plus. Both 36k/3 years. Car will be leased from MD dealer but registered in PA if that makes a difference.

I'll give you the PA numbers since that is the state of registration.

Base - .00143 and 55%
Plus - .00141 and 55%

I have a local dealer here in OR offering the Kia Soul Base AT for a $0 down, $189/month lease, 3yr/30k, which seems like a pretty good deal. I'd like to see what the numbers are for stepping up to the +(Plus) trim level.

I'm looking at a 2016 KIA Soul lease offer of $179, with $1999 due at signing. $1225 of that is "cap cost reduction." Does this mean they're reducing the cap cost to give me this lease payment, but then making me pay the $1225 up front? If I negotiated the price of the car down $1225 to start with, would I still pay the $1225 at signing?

I'm trying to figure out how to get a low lease payment without having to pay all that $ at signing. Would I be able to use a trade-in toward that $1225?

That means that $1225 of your $1999 is used to reduce the CAP cost, and the resulting payment. The ads already assume some sort of dealer discount. If you don't want to pay the $1225, you don't have to, but the payment will $35/mo. higher to make up for it.

I'm still confused about the cap cost reduction. Isn't paying that $1225 up front the same thing as a down payment? Also, I assume that the advertised lease deal is based on the MSRP. If I negotiate the price of the car down from that number, will my lease payments be lower? Or are those advertised lease deals non-negotiable?

Yes, the $1225 is a down payment ("cap cost reduction" is lease-speak).

The advertised deal probably includes some discount from sticker; however, with some decent negotiation, you can probably get a better price and, therefore, a lower lease payment, than the ad.

In NY.. What is the current residual values on a Kia Soul Plus 36/12k lease? What about for the same terms for the exclaim? What about lease cash? Is this similar to a down-payment to reduce cap cost? I'm planning to go to KIA today.

Exclaim: .00093 MF and 50% residual. $2400 lease cash

Yes, it's like a consumer rebate. Pretty sure that it must be applied as a CAP cost reduction (which means that it is subject to sales tax).

Credit score took a nose dive since last KIA lease 3 years ago. My best score (Experian) was 620 which is Tier 7. My current Kia lease has perfect payment history and I return it this week. Trying to get a Soul Plus. I used Truecar to try to get the best selling price plus incentives so the big factor that is driving the lease payment now is the money factor at Tier 7 at .00323 (I forget the exact number but I have it written down). Couldn't close deal because bank was closed but they said I should be okay with getting the bank approval.

I am a little bummed that they didn't want to honor the exact truecar price. The dealer added an additional $850 destination charge even though I told them it was already included in the truecar price. It was a 2016 Kia Soul plus with audio and primo package. Truecar said $20,943 but the want to add $850 to make it $21,793. Do think I should fight the $850 charge?

Does anyone know the money factor at Tier 6? Do you think it is possible to get a Tier bump due to perfect Kia lease payment history on my current lease? What about security deposit to bump Tier? Any advise.

Tier 6 money factors are about .00100 less than Tier 7, so the savings is substantial. Do you know for sure that you'll be in Tier 7? I would think a perfect record with KIA Finance would count for something, but that isn't my area of expertise.

If you don't think the dealer is sticking to the deal, then find another dealer.

Hi Thank you for the reply. No i am not sure it is Tier 7 but when i was haggling with the manager, he actually showed me the computer screen that calculates the lease to prove he was entering the correct negotiated price and showed me the money factor numbers for Tier 1 thru Tier 7, i knew my credit was low so I asked to see how the calculations looked when he entered Tier 7. I know for a fact my Experian score is 620 because he showed me but again the bank was closed. If it comes back Tier 7, i am going to press for Tier 6 due to perfect payment history. 0.001 less is a big savings!
