To do the calculation, you need the MSRP and the selling price and/or adjusted CAP cost

The CX-3 is an SUV, not a sedan.

And, I'll assume AWD, as you are in NY.

Both trims have the same numbers.

36/12 - 55% and .00008
39/12 - 54% and .00002

Add 1% for 10K

39 months is the sweet spot

Just wanted to follow up and give everyone an update. This forums has been of so much help and made my numbers/calculations and the following negotiations a great experience.

I ended up leasing a Mazda CX-3 Touring, AWD, 39/10 in NY for $225/mo. 0 down. Tax+DMV+1st month+Acquisition/Bank fee upfront.

I waited until the end of the month and then went between 3 dealerships and played them against each other to get this deal.

Want to know what the forum thinks. Is this a good deal I got? Just need to put it in perspective for this car and see how I did for future reference.

Yes. those are AWD numbers.

Not sure if the $950 is a dealer or customer incentive. You can be sure that any price they quote will already take it into account. It's money from Mazda.

Getting a 2017 GT CX-3 AWB at end of month. Cap cost is $26,201 and net cap cost (after $950 rebate) is $25,251. 10,000 mile lease for 36 months leaves me with monthly payments of $270. However dealer wants me to pay the $950 lease cash back up front at signing. Is this right? How can it be called lease cash if I am paying it upfront? In my mind, they are treating it like a down payment. Can you explain this?

The lease cash is shown as paid upfront, but it's likely your lease contract looks something like this:

$2450 amount due at signing.
$950 lease cash
$1500 cash from customer

That doesn't mean you are paying it, just that it's applied as though it were cash upfront. It's a rebate and taxable.
