What is the MF and Residual in Northern NJ? Also, does NJ tax on the MSRP or just the lease payment? Thank you.

.00084 MF and 63% residual for 36/10.

NJ taxes the sum of payments, but collects it all upfront. Of course, you can always roll that amount into the CAP cost and pay as you go.

I live in South Jersey and was quoted an MF and residual of 00051 and 54% for a 36/15 for a 2017 CX-5 Grand Touring with an MSRP of $33,465 and a selling price of $32,465 and a total savings & rebate of $2610. After reading a bunch of your posts, I *think* these numbers are not very favorable. Can you advise? Also, I want to thank you for all your responses to folks. Your knowledge and assistance is wonderful for us consumers!

Also, I was given the final payment of $462 with $0 down. With a gov fee of $408 and a doc fee of $289 and they gave me a capitalized taxes of $1146, I am getting around $430. Can you advise if the monthly fee is correct based on their original numbers and then advise if this is an OK deal? This is our first lease and after spending many hours on year thread, I hope to make an educated decision. Thanks again.

MF is marked up the max from .00001 base.

Are you paying the taxes and fees up front, or adding them into the selling price and monthly payment? We recommend the latter.

Read through the last page or two of this thread to see what others have been able to negotiate.

Below is the rundown and with those amounts and with the MF and residual of 00051 and 54% for a 36/15 they are getting $462. I do the calculation and I get $430. Can you advise which is correct? They are rolling the taxes into the financing. I also am going to try and negotiate the MF as my wife and I both have a credit score that hovers around 800.

If I use an adjusted cap cost of $32,699, I get a payment of $432/mo. Ask the dealer what cap cost they are using to get the $462/mo quote.

Don't negotiate the MF; simply (and politely) tell them you won't sign a deal where the MF is marked up.

$407/mo with the base MF of .00001
