    That's interesting in that it looks exactly like the '53 Town&Country I posted. Did Chrysler simply rename it a "New Yorker" for 1954?

    In those days MoPars often used East Coast place names. It's been a long time since anyone used one on a model. With the current rage for Western names will we see a model named "Butte" or "Tucumcari"?

    What's next, Canadian place names like "Winnipeg", Saskatoon" or "Moose Jaw"?

    In 1954 Chrysler had the Windsor Town and Country and the New Yorker Town and Country.
    Both had the Town and Country badge on the lower right of the tailgate.
    I know it is difficult to read on the New Yorker shown but it's there.

    I blew it up and I can see it under the dealer sticker on the right. Curious that "New Yorker" appears on both sides of the tailgate, as well as the rear fender, they really didn't want you to forget. Those luggage style chromed hinges are odd too.

    I'll pick off some 'furrin cars - the 58 Chevy wagon in the middle of the pic has a Fiat 600 and MGA beside it.

    1960 cars: in the next row, far left, facing away from the camera, is a 60 Chevy wagon and a Ford Falcon. Further back in that row I spot a 55 Olds convertible that appears to have a flat tire.

    That 58 Chevy wagon makes the Fiat look like Ed Sullivan show's Topo Gigio B) I like the upper trim early V200 Valiant on the other side of the Chev wagon (and it was a Detroit compact back then!).

    not sure what the white wagon at the left of the rear lot is, bet definitely the 60s. And I think in the middle front of that lot is a 61 Impala?

    Andys - I can't make out the purplish car by the 56 Olds a couple up from the Chevy wagon , but it looks in the 60's and a few cars further up is a white 62 Rambler. Also in the front corner of the picture appears to be a purplish 61 or 62 Mercury.

    Stick, I'm thinking that wagon is some kind of full sized 61-64 GM (and given the picture, probably a 61 or 62). On the left front of the lower lot, I think the back of that white wagon is a 59 Chevy, but it might be a 60?

    Oops, I missed the Falcon. My first thought on the black sports was the same but at The Old Motor they say big Healey and I think they're wrong, and you're right.
    Good eye on the Fiat 600, which has a different hood than the Fiat 500.

    You missed a couple of 1960 cars in that first row: there's a 1960 Mercury Monterey or Montclair on the extreme left lower. On the far side of that black sportscar is a Plymouth Valiant/Dodge Lancer. There might be a 1960 Pontiac Tempest a coupla cars further down the row.

    At far left in the distant lot, as was mentioned appears to be a 62 Chevy wagon. Then the 61 Chevy you mention. Two cars over from the 61 is another early 60s looking car, maybe a Dodge? A row to the right from that, beside what looks like a two tone ~55 Chevy 210, looks like the rear of a Corvair or 61 Impala (hard to tell scale at this distance), and in the distant lot in far right row beside a two tone ~55 Pontiac looks like the front trim of another 61 Chevy or similar.

    Looking far up the row nearest the camera, beside a white Rambler, appears to be another foreign car, possibly a Dauphine. Across from it, near a box looking thing, looks like a dark colored Beetle convertible with a white top.

    A weird thing is in the background lot, behind the 62 Chevy, near a fire hydrant. A wagon, what is it?

    I'm taking a flyer here, but I will hazard a guess that the wagon by the hydrant is a Peugeot 403. Has anyone opined on the green wagon next to the 62 Chevy wagon?

    Yep, that could be a Pug 403 Break (wagon) up by the white hydrant. As for the white Chevy wagon, it's more likely it's a '61 and I think that green car is a Dodge or Plymouth wagon ca. 1960.

    You have to look hard between the white late 60s Rambler and a mid-50s Pontiac but there is the nose of a tannish Dauphine there. As for the alleged Beetle convertible... I don't see it.

    You have very sharp eyes Fin! It's hiding behind a small structure or sign in the upper right of the pic.

    That certainly looks like a VW Cabrio. There weren't a lot of white convertible roofs ca. 1960.

    In truth it was common in the late 50s and the 60s to see suburban driveways parking a combination of full-size Yank Iron and a little import. It's no coincidence that sales of Volkswagen and other small imports took off in the same decade that saw a mass migration from urban areas to outlying areas not well served by mass transit.

    Many families used their VW, Renault or MG as a "station car" and parked it for the day while the breadwinner took the train or bus to the city. Stay-at-home moms would use the big car for shopping and other errands. Baby-boomers and war babies came of age in the 1960s
    creating households w three or more drivers.

    My first car was a '65 Beetle shared w my brothers while my folks had a '64 Catalina. As time went on variations on the big/small theme occurred.

    The photo shows a couple of cars which appear contemporaneous, the MY of the Ford Starliner is easy (1960) the Veedub is post-1958 (bigger, more rectangular rear glass).
    I note that both cars are 2-doors, something pretty rare now.

    I like the white VW Bug, but of all the years that the Bug was built, I prefer the '67. Wonder where that one there is now.

    Yup, it's the new 2019 Ford Ranger it's amazing how big small trucks are now. It looks almost as big as full-sizers were before they went nuts.

    That must be it. I've never seen tinted glass like that on a period Ford, or any similar car for that matter.

    In the 60s, MB had optional green tinted glass, but it is pretty rare and I think was mainly a euro thing. In the 90s and early 00s, they had blue tint on some models.

    Ferrari Mondial, assume a late run car due to the body color front trim, but I don't know how to discern year on these. I know it most from "Weird Science".
