    Now that I can zoom in, I agree on the 170. The rear window is very MB, along with the proportions of the trunk/boot. Not a Morris Minor as I previously guessed, it is a different slightly larger car.

    Late run 170s were sold in the US, too.

    Yes I have a Ferrari book that shows "your" amber marker lights AND the original photo's round parking lights. You know Ferrari back then--they made 36 of something and they'd all be a bit different.

    It looks as if y'all are clueless as to the identity of the blue Jeepy-thing. Here's another look
    and you can see that it lacks the trademark 7 grille slots but otherwise resembles earlier versions of the YJ/CJ Jeeps.



    If you are sharp-eyed you'll notice a brand name.

    Pretty sure India. Even has some parts interchangeable with old Jeeps. Mahindra is grandfathered with old licenses from when they produced Jeeps after WWII. Not sure I'd spend that kind of money on a Jeep that I could drive on-road.

    Tex you are correct, it's the new Mahindra Roxor which will be made at their plant in Michigan and aimed at the North American ATV side x side market since it is not street legal.

    Mahindra (a major tractor maker worldwide) has been making Jeeps for some time under license in India and I believe still is. They've been making them longer than anyone since
    Jeep has changed hands so often.

    As for the "not street legal", I think it depends on local/state regulations. Here in AZ it's not uncommon to see Dune Buggies and other ATVs driven on local roads (not highways). You even see some golf carts out there

    I suspect that is (maybe) a '64 Mercury Monterey convertible. These are tricky, because there are so many trim lines. It could be a subset, too, like a Parklane Marauder or a Montclair Marauder. I don't really know the subtleties of trim pieces that might tip us off.

    Yep, that's a 1964 Mercury Park Lane wearing Marauder wheel covers.
    Top o' the line for that yr IIRC.

    Those Mercs look rather bizarre today but I always liked them. A local fellow has a 4-door hardtop with the unusual rear door side window line that was used in '64 and I really find the car attractive. One thing that jumps out every time I see it is the very wide "shoulder" the body design has between the door/fender and the roof structure.

    My '65 Mustang had them, they're in the '66 brochure, but not the '67 brochure, so I'll guess '67.

    That sounds about right. Most real knock-off hubs had two ears but these wheels had three-eared knock-offs, recognize them?

    That side trim is all wrong for a '64 Park Lane.
    Its side strip varies in thickness and there are 3 side horizontals which shouldn't be there.

    I'm no expert in old Mercs but I went by the Hemmings ad https://hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/mercury/park-lane/1998599.html?refer=blog

    I did some poking around online images and the side trim doesn't appear when you look at images for "1964 Mercury Park Lane" but does appear on "1964 Mercury Montereys" and "Montclairs".

    That lower chrome strip that is narrower in front than back shows up on some but not others.

    The 64 Mercury and Pontiac were both a little different. Not necessarily bad, just stood out compared to some of their competitors.

    yup. I didn't actually look at the picture closely until you mentioned it, but def. Black Tie, with the Echelon Ford sign in the background. I could walk there if I felt like it.

    Pass it all the time (just today actually) after coming from a viewing for a team member’s husband. Decided to finish the day from home, good thing. I got home right when the white stuff was sticking.

    yeah, went from barely covered grass and a little slush in the road, to 8" on the pavement, in the space of a couple hours. then we lost power for about 2.5 hours (and given how many outages still in town, we were lucky it wasn't longer).

    Interesting, let me guess: they changed the ratios in fifth gear so you wouldn't be screaming along at almost 4000 rpm @ 70MPH

    I had an '83 and I thought it was the best car in the world for the cut and thrust of rush hour commuting. I flipped it after a few years because it was all wound up in highway cruising and I was going back and forth to NYC a lot.

    Nice looking car on the outside, semi-crappy inside despite Recaro seats. It was my last car w anything like full instrumentation. Great handling/braking.

    I had a similar car in appearance, a 1980 diesel Rabbit. What MPG! All my trips from New London, Ct. to Washington, D.C. AND BACK always used fewer than 14 gallons of fuel. Every one of them. I got 289,000 miles out of that car which I purchased new.

    Those early '80s Rabbits were great cars, in theory.

    My girlfriend had two of them, and I loved to drive them, but she was always broke, trying to keep them up (and her father worked for a VW dealership).

    Well, her unemployed boyfriend was a cash drain, as well. ;)

    I must have been real lucky with my '83 GTI, no major problems. 13 years, almost all in Anchorage. Most fun car I've had.

    I'll leave the year to the Corvette experts, but two observations: are those 'air scoops' on either side of the real grill the first instance of the fake grills that so many cars have today? And I remember those gas pumps, with the glass bubble containing balls that spun around as the gas was pumped. My understanding was they were there to assure the customer that gas was really going into their car, which the (real) old pump, with the glass container holding all the gas that was dispensed, didn't need:
