Windows were stained so they all had to be sanded down and took three coats to get right. All the trim etc etc.
Running to Home Depot now to get 2 of the 7 blinds I need as I don’t feel like finishing the paint on the bow window tonight. I would get all 7 but don’t think I’d be back in time (they have to be cut) for the Eagles game on my new 65” Sony.
My 14 year old Sony gave up the ghost. It’s a low end Sony but it is still leaps and bounds over what I had.
If I didn’t have two young ones with an appetite to hurt TVs I would love the set that @roadburner posted.

My son takes thyroid medicine. Without it he’d die. We got a solicitation from a lawyer who was suing the company who developed this life saving medicine because they didn’t voluntarily tell every patient that generic medicine was just as good.
All I could think about is what if fear of lawsuits prevented some other drug company from introducing the next life saving drug. I wanted no part of it.

Well, all that changed in December of last year. I ended up being referred to a urologist, their CT scan outsourced facility, staying overnight in a first-rate hospital for exploratory surgery (non-invasive) to evaluate bladder or kidney cancer (negative, BTW). That was followed with a long term relationship with a kidney specialist. Then, for fun, I had a serious ankle sprain on my drive to AK last summer, so visited a podiatrist. That was followed by a trip to the ER a month or so ago for what turned out to be pulmonary embolisms which came from a clot in the leg with the sprained ankle. I had a follow-up with my Cigna Dr. (who I've had for the past 15+ years) and then a visit to a pulmonologist last week. None of this has cost me more than a $30 co-pay, and my routine BP and cholesterol meds don't cost me anything.
I couldn't be happier, though it appears I could certainly be healthier. YMMV
It ain't for me...................I like the way gassers give me more freedom.

i think the acid test for going full electric is how you gas up. if you start planning it when you drop below 1/2 a tank, and get the sweats when you drop below 1/4, not for you. If you don't think about it until the light goes on, then try to go as long as possible until RTE is in the single digits, then go for it!

As for paint. I usually use Behr from Home Depot as it is typically highly rated. This time I used Benjamin Moore from the paint store (I'm sure you know the place on the WHP). Wow, expensive stuff ($40, gallon) but really nice to work with.
I miss Finnaren and Haley, that was the best paint you could get and made in PA. They were bought by BM years ago.

I received a text alert from my credit card company asking if a charge for $132.00 was made by me. I had to respond by texting back YES or NO. I texted back NO. I immediately received another text telling me that my credit card account had been closed and that I was to call a telephone number. I also received, at the same time, an email advising me to make a call to that same phone number. Rather than call the number provided, I called the phone number on the credit card and selected the Fraud Option. I spoke with a representative of the Fraud Team and they confirmed the texts and email I had received. They had declined the charge based upon the fact that the security code was provided incorrectly. So I didn't have to deal with that issue of trying to get the charge removed. One of the questions they asked me was if I had the credit card in my possession. I responded that I did and they wanted me to give them the credit card number, expiration date and security code on the back of the car. They also asked me several security questions.
I just received my new credit card (they UPS'ed it overnight) and had to start notifying all my insurance companies, mobile phone, cable TV and internet companies that the credit card they had on file for auto-pay had to be updated. I just finished with the last company - 8 in total - to put the new credit card on file. I also had to notify Trans-Union, Equifax and Experian of the fraud attempt and they each placed a fraud alert on my credit bureau file.
This stuff is so time consuming and so nerve racking. I just hope I got all the auto-pay companies contacted. I even had to contact my pharmacy to have them change the credit card on my account for "quick-pay". This type of fraud is so rampant and frustrating. It happened to me on my AMEX card two years ago when someone tried to charge $85.00 in gas at a Shell Station 12 miles from me. Lucky for me that the card reader on the pump picked up the fact that it was a bogus credit card.
I wonder how much it costs these credit card companies to maintain the types of security and fraud prevention departments. It must cost them a fortune in fraudulant card usage. These security patches on the front of the new cards seems to have reduced some of the fraud, but probably other approaches will be necessary to reduce this fraud.

One interesting thing with Chase was that they did not make me update my autopay settings for any routine vendors - they said I could just update them when the old number was originally set to expire. Pretty nifty.
Also, I highly recommend freezing all 3 credit bureaus with a PIN, not just a fraud alert. That way, only you can unfreeze them when you seek credit and otherwise there is virtually no chance of someone making a fraudulent inquiry.

I can’t see where they thought it was a good idea.
Then again.... this is the same manufacturer that turned the Thunderbird from a two seat convertible to a bloated 4 door cruiser back in the day.
Also the same manufacturer that took the best selling car in America, let it die a slow death in rental fleets and eventually brought back as a rebadged Volvo
And since I’m snarky this morning.... they also took the most robust, tested, bulletproof sedan ever made and allowed that to go away as well losing millions of dollars in fleet sales.
But... they still make great trucks and SUVs.

That’s a long way to travel so people won’t recognize you.
Seriously though, that’s why I don’t use credit cards if I can avoid it. Too many ways they can steal your information. Especially gas stations. I’m constantly hearing stories about skimmers on the pumps.

If I get a text message for anything I know it’s a fake because my Trac phone is only used for work and no business or bank would even know it was mine. Also I don’t text. All my routine calls are on a land line.
Again my tech phobia comes to my rescue.

When I first heard that they were making an electric “Mustang” I was interested because of the thought of Tesla S type acceleration. What a disappointment to see it in a 4 door boat.
Just an abuse of an iconic name IMO.

But I did see this...16 second video...Hillsborough County needs 120 School Bus Drivers immediately! Heres your chance,
https://youtu.be/phCV3-Dg9R8
Out of curiosity, how does driving rental cars around compare with driving a school bus?
I drove taxis when I was going to Teachers College. I really got tired of people telling me where they wanted to go all the time.
2017 MB E400 , 2015 MB GLK350, 2014 MB C250
Back in 2011 I contacted the Pinellas county school district to inquire about jobs. The pay was about 50% less than I was making in NY so it went nowhere. You will find those “bus drivers needed” signs in front of every school in the country as there has been a terrific shortage of school bus drivers for over 30 years. The trouble is that the job is part time pay for full time responsibility. Hard to convince a person with a CDL to give up other opportunities for $10k a year.
Bus vs cars? Well, you still have to deal with all the idiots on the road but other than that it’s like comparing hell to heaven. In the car the boss isn’t breathing down your neck and filming your every move. No drug tests, no parents making up lies about how you disrespected their darlings, no crazy regulations and at worst only 5 crying children in the van compared with 66 in the bus.

I can get a comparable new fridge for $900. Would you gamble the fridge will last, or buy one now....or possibly on Black Friday if the prices drop?
2017 MB E400 , 2015 MB GLK350, 2014 MB C250
It's not like something you buy today would be any better quality, it will just look new and maybe save a few bucks on electricity.
Our kitchen appliances are all at 9 years old now. They are all working well (except a finicky ice maker) but starting to show a bit of wear.
Once the first one goes I'm thinking I'll replace all four but not doing a thing until that time.

Wasn't the floor above the joist nailed to the joist?
Hope this helps. Most joists or beams run north and south and they are about a foot apart. This is a cross joist that runs East and West and they are about 20 feet apart. Yest, the floor could be nailed to them. Some of these are steel beams. This one is 3 thicknesses of wood, each is about an inch thick. Even with the 4 1/4 inch pipe running through it, there is maybe almost 3 inches of wood below and 1 1/2 to 2" of wood above it.
I doubt it would compromise the strength at all....all looks pretty solid.”
