The TR6 is very nice although when the owner switched to black seats and door cards he should have changed the carpet and seat belts too. The MGB will probably end up selling for half the price and deliver much the same driving experience.

These are interesting too. I know QB owned one (right?). Some needs but Nothing major. driver quality which works for me if price reflects condition.

well, not having school age kids really changes the dynamics. Pretty much the same as it was anyway. As long as our companies stay in business. Thankfully it is not anything depended on short term customers or retail/hospitality. So if this does not go on too long should be OK.

30 mins left and that wagoneer is at just $11k. Hopefully it jumps up at the end or I'll be kicking myself.

Skip that. Much cheaper Here for a “real” truck. Stick shift, manual hubs, go anywhere!

    Love that LandCruiser.

But, not a fan of neglected old cars that are fixed up to flip for profit. It’s like buying a flipped house. Who knows what was covered up, and what effects years of abuse/neglect will show up later.

Are those Duster hubcaps on the K-car?

Shame the MB is so neglected, nice color combo and leather.

Caddy needs whitewalls. The Fauxrarri is really detailed for one of those, credit where credit is due.
  • tjc78tjc78 South JerseyPosts: 10,793
I was thinking something 70s, maybe Valiant? Definitely not K-car.

I agree on the Eldo. I know lots of people hate on whitewalls, but on many cars that originally had them it looks better.

I thought it was funny that the color on the 81 Accord is very similar to the 90s Accord color that was the rage at the time.

on BAT, sometimes they list them as no reserve. I just assume if it doesn't say no, then it has one, but it may not be a given.

Someone on the main facebook fintail group uploaded the entire 985 page shop manual for fintail sedans, to give people something to do if stuck at home. Pretty cool gesture, I had to download it. Maybe I can find something to give me a hint about the turn signals.

John Hughes was a master of Car Casting.

Here is a little blurb about it: https://www.curbsideclassic.com/blog/cc-cinema/cc-cinema-the-cars-of-john-hughes-movies/

And he got his use out of K-Cars... how could we all forget about this one.

Pretty fun read. It's not news that I am a Hughes fan, and his car casting definitely wasn't accidental - he knew what he was doing, and the cars usually fit a character to a T.

That list mentions a pretty good old movie mostly forgotten these days, Mr. Mom. A Squire in blue with turbine wheels is probably the best spec. pretty sharp:

    image

Tons of period Fords in that movie, possibly product placement, although the title character also worked for a carmaker (not named).

And one didn't make the woody list, what I guess was supposed to be Sam's mom's car in Sixteen Candles, seen in a few background shots, the now-unusual LeBaron Town and Country:

You're Doing It Wrong - a number of good scenes/one liners in that one. The beer/scotch line just before 220/221 is also well played.

Scene above also is like a late malaise car show.

"So as a 1988 model it was built after AMC was shut down and the Eagle division came into being. Shouldn’t it be an Eagle Eagle?"
