Just wait 'til the time change. Though you may be able to snap a pic in the AM.

If you're in B-town we should ask if Loosh will be performing live. I'd be up for that.

to help with my point total. How about if we get 10 points for every pound our dogs weigh over Hadji's weight? Let's see, that would mean that my Maggie would bring me about 500 points! Looks fair to me??

  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
What about how high they can jump, instead? Hadji can clear a 4 foot fence, even though he's only about a foot tall at the shoulder.

I knew CATS could jump high!!! (ha ha ha)
Two other words on this day
    GO YANKEES !!!
  • nygregnygreg Member Posts: 1,936
Can this be like golf? The lower score the better? I should win then.

I can now officially guarantee no snow this year. After buying my OB, new tires on the Sienna and now a new snow blower - it ain't gunna snooooow!

GO YANKEES is right. Tell me we New Yorker's don't have soul. Not biased of course. :)

anybody have a good ISP...our AOL account is going the way of the Mariners in about a month (sorry, Stephen...) and I am starting to look into something more reliable. Any suggestions?
  • bluesubiebluesubie Member Posts: 3,497
I use CompuServe, which is now owned by AOL. I don't think AOL has bled over too much into CS. I'm on-line very little at home so I have the 20 hrs/$9.95 plan.

is a small ISP I have been using. My demands are not high so I couldn't give you a solid recommendation. But, it has worked OK for me.

I have used earthlink from the beginning of their existence and they rock, no downtime ever (and I have/had a dedicated line for it.)

    Ed - Very nice :-o

The Forester compliments the foliage very very well.

and yes, where the frontal shots?

I play the 2nd and 3rd, not the 4th. That is a Sunday. I think the 4th would be a fine time to have a local meet though!! ;-)

OK I am now up to 250 points with these additions.
  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
how about 100 points for the now 'classic' winestone color? :)

    -Brian
  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
Hmm I should get at least 500 for driving around in a Wedge! Another 500 for the Atari 5600 Joystick that is my gear selector, and heck another 500 for having to change over my air-suspension to non-air! :)

If I only had the battle star galactica guages that the XT and XTturbo had.

is incomplete unless one gets points for having a name for your Subie (50 seems about right) and 25 points for each name suggested to and adopted by another member.

Hmm, this points thing is easy. 2 subarus, two dogs (one over 140 lbs.), 6 cats, a plate that says TWRX, two WRX shirts from LL, 3 Macs at home and 6 of my older ones at school. Start counting....

I will be coming into town on the evening of the 3rd. I just have to be perky in the AM on the 4th as we go 9 to 5 with the pre-conference roundtable workshop. We can see you play.

Does anyone know why this message center does not have a "search function" which allows users to look for keywords...to avoid posting the same questions?
  • grahampetersgrahampeters Member Posts: 1,786
    G'day

I win! So far, the only point I have scored on is the Subaru ownership so I low score at 20.

Now if you count non pet wildlife around the place, I may score better as I have about ten possums dancing on the cables out the front. We refer to them as Possum Highways here as they would rather run along the cables than through the trees. Where they are strung onto the house, it twangs like a guitar string and the metal roof deck resonates like a guitar.

As to snow, we are just into a warmish start to summer. The kids have been in the pool although I reckon they have pushed icebergs aside to do so. It has been so hot these past few days that the Outback AirCon is working overtime

Not sure whether that will make you feel envious.

    Cheers

Galactica gauges would make you a shoe-in. Plus you get points if you've been to the real Outback. :-) All the other point bonuses mentioned are also valid.

We are your search function. Fire off any questions and we'll help you find the answer.

But Tom wins, easily, because he earned 1000 bonus points for this Ford Exploder photo he took in Canada:

    image

You can clearly see his non-burning Outback in the first photo, along with a call to 911 for assistance. Though it looks like he actually used the cell phone as a trigger to blow up the car. Maybe the Ford owner bought a Subaru and didn't want to see the Ford ever again?

Anthony- We lost the option to search when Edmund's switched over to the new format (last Spring?). Prior to that you could download an entire topic and use your browser's search feature to look for keywords. My understanding is that users were straining the server resources by doing this. Edmund's is aware of the problem and hopefully will come up with a solution one of these days.

Just remember, in spite of this shortcoming, Edmund's Town Hall is still a wonderful resource that is totally free (and will hopefully remain that way).

Are the larger models the Explosion and the Explosive?
  • bluesubiebluesubie Member Posts: 3,497
Graham, you get 100 points for living in Oz.:-)

    Wow, amazing exploder photos.

Ok folks I need to buy/get donated a set of front 2.5rs or WRX Struts, springs and Top mounting brackets (hopefully all 3 intact together) to mount in my new XT6 to replace the air-suspension.

So if any of you are upgrading let me know.

According to Tom the Exploder was one day old when it blew and it was replaced with ... wait for it ... another Exploder! Some people never learn.

Thanks for posting the pictures juice.

I only learned of the details regarding this fire several days later. A young couple and their 4 yr. old son took their one day old Ford Exploder for a drive up our local ski hill. After smelling something burning, they stopped on the side of the road. They just had just enough time to remove their son from his car seat in the rear before the car became totally involved. They then hitched a ride up the mountain with the next passing car and were gone when I arrived. It was a relief to discover that no one was inside!

and.... as Ross said, believe it or not, they replaced the Exploder with another one!

    Tom

    (p.s. - I won, I won, I won!!!!) :~}

The same thing happened to my dad in a fairly new Camry. It was in Belize a couple of years ago, though I suspect that perhaps a recall had not been fixed on it (not sure).

    Wow, graphic photos!

A local radio DJ often calls those "vehicular flambes".

Cool pics! That's what we call a "working fire". Fun to put out, too!

I had two Explorers back-to-back... traded the '91 for a '96 - loved 'em both, but still glad I have the OB now. Would I have another? Maybe - but the 02's area a bit ugly, IMHO.

    Cheers!

    I thought it was a Car-B-Q!
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
The real question is, what wine would go well at that Car-B-Q? ;-)

  • paisanpaisan Member Posts: 21,181
Yeah the 2nd one doesn't include the top mounting brackets. I have about 10 people on there who have the springs and struts. I'm looking for them to come complete with the top plates, assembled etc. That way it's more of a bolt in mod rather than a hassle. I still need to spread the lower bracket at a welder, and drill out the top of the wheel well to fit em.

juice - since this was a Canadian owned vehicle, might I suggest a bottle of Chardonn-eh?

Ross, no problem, I always appreciate your input...:~)

    as always, Cheers

    for grilling turbot.

    Ross
  • hypovhypov Member Posts: 3,068
the "grill" had handled the heat better.
It would had been perfect for grilling turbot.
    How 'bout smoked turbot? ;-)

    -Dave
  • armac13armac13 Member Posts: 1,129
Even better. Smoked turbut on rally bread could replace lox on bagels. :~)

What are the most important factors in your car-buying decisions? The Chicago Tribune is looking for a ranking of concerns such as safety, price, monthly payment, styling, quality, etc.

Please send your response to jfallon@edmunds.com, or post in Talk to the Press.

    Thanks!

paisan: is that for XT6 #2? So now you have, what, about 16 cars in your driveway? ;-)

Smoked turbot on rally bread, yum! We could even make s'mores for dessert! I'm hungry now. Again.

Let's see, my key factors for buying my next car will be:

    1. A "Blitzen" badge
    2. AWD
    3. 200+hp
    4. Price under $30k
    5. A balance of all the other stuff

    '01 Trooper LS
    '88 XT6-4EAT

    Sold: '88 MX6
    Buying: '89 XT6-5MT

Yeah the air suspension works on the '89, but I want to convert it over as one of the first mods. Although I'm considering making it into a TT now, so I may forget the suspension for now. We are gonna shoot for the 250hp range on the 2.7L H6 :)

    -mike
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Cool, so you did find a buyer for the MX6. You never even registered it, did you?

The suspension's still good, eh? Why not leave it, then? Don't you need some work on the heads?

Sorry - but I probably won't be able to make the chat tonight. I don't think I will be free until too late. I'll try though!
