The concentration of Subes got higher the closer you to got to the Alps. They're probably one of the most popular vehicles up there, from what I saw...
Bob
It's a dangerous thing to drive the WRX when you have no intentions of getting a new car for a year or so. Could lead to bad financial decisions. I must resist the urge.
Or maybe I should just apply for a job at SoA. :-)
Dennis
You need to auto-x!!!! Come on down to E-town.
-mike
That's dangerous, Dennis. I've wanted one since I got the chance to drive Hutch's car.

I looked at http://www.subaru.ch/ (in French and German, neither of which I speak); doesn't look like they have a GT per se; it's called a "Limited" (I think). Swiss models have Contrôle automatique de l'assiette et antipatinage (Vehicle Dynamics Control), Assistance en côte (Hill Holder), and Boîte de réduction 2x5 vitesses (Dual Range).
Dennis, Your wife's got the track bug? That's cool.
..Mike (who occasionally drives his wife's GT)

Subies are supposed to be a bit off center.

Also would like to get onto a track. I'll probably ask you some questions in Cape May.
Dennis

Actually, I bet they work for SoA.

Speaking of which, it's way outdated. It still has the older-look Forester and Impreza. Anyone have a link to the newer screen saver? Or should I keep it vintage since I own a '98?

Bob: you'll love this - it's rated to tow 704 lbs. I bet Don's bikes add up to more than that. ;-)

Car Magazine sez:
"Nearly pointless exercise in stretching brand values beyond their breaking point....a 4X4 version of the Swift built under license in Hungary. Who needs a 4X4 supermini, especially one this old? Don't bother.
TRIM LEVEL RECOMMENDATION: "Polo? Yaris? 206?"
No question, the Justy has long outlived its usefulness. Anybody ever read UK's "CAR" magazine? In the back they have a section called "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly," in which they comment on every vehicle sold in England. The comments are often cruel and biting. Let's just say they don't care much for the Justy, and leave it at that...
Bob
Oh, and the best braking in snow? Snow Vehicle Xtraordinaire (SVX), of course.

The photos do not do them justice you have to see them in the flesh to believe how ugly they are.
When I visited my baby sister (RIP) last year she had just bought a new mini toyota I forget the model name but I honest to God would take the bus before I would be caught dead in it.
Cheers Pat.

<<< It's good to be home!
Marianne's surgery went well.... the surgeon said the chemotherapy is doing its job. As previously planned, Marianne will start chemotherapy again next week for another two-three times and then begin six weeks of daily radiation. This will be done here in Boynton Beach.
We are managing and in pretty good spirits. Marainne still gets tired easily and needs rest several times a day. We're told this may continue for another six months to a year.
We have our fingers crossed and aren't afraid to say a prayer or two.
Your interest is greatly appreciated and means a lot to both of us. It's wonderful how supportive the Subaru Crew is in matters other than vehicles!
Thanks for being so thoughtful.
Don>>>
Please keep Marianne in your thoughts for a speedy recovery

Who said AWD is not needed in Florida? I was driving in heavy rain, and that Malibu thing was all over the place. Tires (Firestone) were hydroplaning like crazy, and overall handling was so subpar, I really wished I was in my Forester.
Saw a horrible accident in FL: when rain started, an old Cherokee a few cars ahead of me lost control (when trying to change lanes on the curve) and flipped over, smashing the roof so badly, it looked like someone pressed the car for scrap metal. At least all of us behind him were able to stop in time, so it ended up being one-car accident, but still a horrible memory. And I thought Cherokees are sort of sturdy.
Dennis
I offer sincere thanks to all of you for your good thoughts and prayers. You guys are the best.

Welcome back, Kate. You missed the Ford Car-B-Q we had! Quick, go back a few posts and check it out.

Cheers Pat.
He got on the boards to say he was back from vacation and the dropped off the face of the earth.
Cheers Pat.
To give you an example, we had a quadraplegic from Ottawa just completed driving around the world for spinal cord research.
He was giving an interview and said his most expensive fillup was in the UK. $ 340 canadian. his cheapest fillup was in Iran $7 canadian, now obviously he had extra tanks but $ 340 thats a lot for a fillup.
BTW. he drives a full size Chevy. Blazer, but you can see why the puddle jumpers are so popular.
Cheers Pat.
