my DC snow story. I find their reaction to snow very amusing. I flew into Dulles a couple of years ago to find about an inch of snow on the ground. On the drive out the access road, (about 10-15 miles I think) there had to be at least a dozen cars off the road. It appears to be absolute panic. I had a rental with all-seasons and as long as I went at a reasonable pace the traction was fine. By the end of the day there was about 8" and the traffic was totally gridlocked. On the way back that evening, I was smart enough to believe the airline that they were flying and ended up sleeping in the airport.

With the opportunity to meet with the Rally Team, it was all about Edmunds and the folks here. They were very interested and pleased how you follow them on speed vision. I just wanted you all to see that you do rate with us, even if we don't quite meet all of your needs (a meet with product planning???!!!)

Anyway, we all think very highly of you. I was told that someone from here was recently invited to a "focus group". It was commented on that Subaru participates here and other folks at the group meeting were encouraged to stop into Edmunds. Very cool and from one of you!! I don't know who, but thanks. It makes what I do a bit more rewarding!

I know he said that he was going to the focus group. I heard the Philly SCCA had a big presence @ the Rally Team event.

If the focus group that you were referring to was the one by JD Power about the Subaru web site then that would be me Patti. I signed up for their online chat focus that was the hour before the usual crew chat. One of the ideas proposed about the site was to put in a forum and I mentioned the link that already existed to Edmunds and how we had a Subie rep here. I'm afraid I was not too complementary about the site though (everyone else seemed to gush how wonderful it was). Don't get me wrong, the content is fine but in the time I was on the chat the site crashed my browser on my laptop 3 times. In fact that is why i elected to run it on a second internet computer so that I would not get booted from the chat room if the Subaru site crashed me. BTW: in 1997 I had only had a computer connected to the internet for a year and i discovered Subaru.com. The site was the first place I read the details on the Forester and by Aug. 1997 I owned a Forester L. Need I mention that I got the details and price of the WRX from Subaru.com in January and quickly discovered that the dream car I did not think I could afford would be affordable? The rest is as we say history.

I lucked out. Phone tag to blame, mainly me not there or on another line. But glad that
Bruce [TWRX] made it for us. :-)

besides me, having trouble with the Edmunds site?

This just cropped up this afternoon: After reading a tread, I go down to hit "Subaru Crew" at the bottom of the page—and it's no longer a link. I can't click on it. In order for me to get to the "Subaru Crew" I have to either A) hit the back button, or, B) Hit "Owner's Clubs," and then find the "Subaru Crew."

    Arrrrugh!!

    Bob
  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
it's still a link at the top of this page though. maybe just some screwy html code at the bottom is affecting the bottom link.

hadn't noticed it until you pointed it out. (I've been using the message center again)

  • hypovhypov Member Posts: 3,068
Scroll right back up to hit "Subaru Crew".
    Ya, I'm having trouble too.

I never even noticed the link at the top before.

Poster! Mebbe we can get someone to print us color copies.......

Thanks for the support, Patti. We all enjoy this community, and I am glad to hear it means something to SoA too.

BTW, Q has really come around to the Outback. I don't think she has it in for a Mini as much now. The OB is so useful, and is still pretty tossable. Only thing is I think she is getting into track school a little more, and the raised ride is a liability. Oh well.....if it weren't for this, our 1st Soob, we wouldn't have even KNOWN what track school was. I suppose I will put 215/65/15s on the car next, since 70-series tires have all but gone the way of the Dodo, and Outbacks look terrible in AmeriStar whitewalls. :)

Loosh, great idea on the copies!

  • thecatthecat Member Posts: 535
    Patti, thanks for the pic.

I have a large format (24"x36") printer. If Juice emails me the file, I can print large copies.

On an unrelated issue, I've been pursuing refinancing of my mortgage. Banks are really busy and the treatment you receive is indicative of it. Would you go to jail for killing a banker? Juice, you have any inside info on that?

Popular Mechanics has a small article on "mud slinging" in the Northwest with a number of 4WD/AWD vehicles. In the end: Highest rated = BWM X5, Most bang for buck = Jeep Liberty, Most fun = Subaru Impreza and Outback! Also, finally got pics of my OB, rear diffy protector and bug deflector on CD. Now just need to figure out how to share them here.

  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
OK with me as long as Patti gives us the permission to make copies.

Hey, the World Bank is not even considered US soil. We even fall outside of the jurisdiction of US courts. So I can get away with anything as long as I never leave my building!

Greg: I'll host any "mod" photos you have. E-mail to me.

    let's reinvent Subaru.

    Patti is CEO, no question.

We'll put paisan in charge of Powertrain Development, so no engine makes any less than 500 lb-ft of torque. We'll make Colin the Chassis and Suspension Chief so they can handle.

Bob will head up Product Planning, to get us all those desirable features, while Mike Smith takes over for Ergonomics and Interior Design. For the 7 department chiefs, we'll get Dave, Mike, Dave, Mike, Dave, Mike, and Dave.

Ross could head up Personnel and use his Psych experience. Kate can run Marketing, while Hutch can run the SPT division, which has now expanded to include forced induction for every single model ever sold by Subaru.

Lucien will run the internal autocross school, so that every employee knows exactly how each of the cars they sell handles at the limit and beyond. Dennis will design dealerships with a Rally theme, while Greg takes charge of the publication Drive. Ken will run the West Coast events while Brian handles the East (of course events now include staff rallies).

Bruce takes charge of the US Rally team, while Kevin acquired Prodrive and runs that unit. Don can run the unit that markets the bike racks and other outdoor sport accessories. Pat takes over Quality Control, no question about it.

Me? I'll be chief test driver, along with all the names I forgot to mention.

    Sound like fun?

Patti, great poster...Are the rally bread guys good folks?

juice...go wax some wheels!(lol)...I will be in charge of making Rally Bread, Rally Challah, and will gladly do the test driving for the European roads...of course, Subaru will have to move my family and I to Italy (to make Rally Pasta, of course). Plus I speak Italian.

Thanks for putting me in charge of rally division. Sounds like fun. While I'm at it in that regard I'm going to try to get Subaru into Indycar. Can you imagine how a boxer clould help lower the cowl on an Indycar and make it more aero?

LOVE the pic, Patti! I'm trying to figure out a place to include it in the Subaru Crew boards. Any suggestions?

Re: the inactive "breadcrumbs" at the bottom of the page. This is site wide. It's been reported.

Also, don't forget chat tonight! Next week's chat is cancelled due to Thanksgiving. AND, if I don't say now, I may not get to it later...

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!

Wow, juice! You do have too much time on your hands. I'll start with my dealer and will get on the phone with the co-owner/President shortly to tell him my plans.

Thanksgiving Day was October 8th. :-) I think Juice does have too much time on his hands - you do have a job, don't you? - but he did well in the initial assignments. I will conduct a job performance evaluation in 6 months so be on your toes everyone. Failure means demotion to GM!!

Paul - how's your Australian accent? Ad Director Graham could coach you!

I also forgot our UK correspondent, Ash, and Marco, our Carribean Chief, mon.

The only perk is unlimited access to JDM Subaru models. Some how I don't think that'll be a problem with anyone here!

Pic looks great, Karen. Love it.

Juice - I have no problem with copies - have fun.

The Rally guy's were great. Subaru had a buffet lunch for us and I kept asking around for rally bread and turbot, but for some reason, they didn't know what I was talking about. Oh, the uninformed!!!

Juice - Sounds like a great coup to me! Except, I think if I was CEO, I wouldn't be allowed to have as much fun as I do now! Now, if we open this up to votes, do dimpled chads count?

I hope to join you all in the chat tonight. If I can, I'll see you there!
