Also, I was quoted $480 by the local Line-X guy for over the rail lining (the Rhino guy never returned my call). Does this price seem high?
One last thing, has anyone put in different lenses/bulbs in the fog light housing. Mine is coming with the lights, but I heard that they're rather week. Thanks.

They are good for illuminating the area directly in front and to the sides of the truck.
Good when turning into a driveway off of a dark road.
Have not had an opportunity to use them in fog yet.
They are not driving lights, too weak for that application, at least for me that is.
At AutoAcessories.com I also found two potentials. The first is a "Catch-All Floor Liner - 2nd Seat Area" piece that is a one-piece carpeted item with lip. I'm not sure that this one is available for the Quad Cab. Price is $59.95. The second is "Husky Rear Seat Liner" it is a one-piece rubber tray wtih lip. This one IS available for Quad Cab. Price is $59.95. See www. autoaccessory.com.
Finally, I found "Custom Fit Floor & Cargo Guards 'Husky Tough"' at www.premiermotoring.net. This is a two-piecer that overlaps in the center. Price is $64.90.
Hope this helps!

The custom sub that you are looking for can be found through www.crutchfield.com. It has a built in amp also.
I finally received my Extang - Tough Tonneau III (Extang) for my Quad, after waiting 4 1/2 months. Manufacturing was discontinued late Aug (when I ordered it), to resolve a reliability issue with their rear corners. This models' rear corners allows one to lift up the rear tonneau crossbar prior to opening the tailgate. This feature prevents scratching the tailgate top. The new corner appears stout enough. Also the rear crossbar is easily removed by raising it an additional 30 degrees or so.
Another thing I liked was that the Tough Tonneau contains 3 mounting clamps per side and uses three arched crossbars- whereas their Saber model contains only 2 for the Quad.
I hope to install it when the weather warms and most of the salt is gone.
This will give me time to work OT to buy aftermarket bits for my truck.

The dealer cut out the fog light holes in the valance for free. It took two days to fabricate a suitable mounting surface that was solid, recessed enough and angled properly for the right fit. Then I had to find a route to pull the wire into the cab to a "Catz" on / off button.
I'm not claiming to be an expert craftsman but its probably better if you're a "McQuiver" type if you are think of going this route. Although it sounds hard the results are great. Real yellow fog lights and in humid south central PA, I have to frequently contend with fog and deer.
Those big tires sure spray a lot of slush on the truck during the winter.
It packs the corners of the rear bumper full of this slush and ice.
Has anyone put mudflaps on their truck? If so, what brand did you go with.
thanks.
I'd rather leave the $13 variety behind versus the $40+ type.
I believe that a flexible type of mud flap would suit my needs best. My concern would be that when going off road, a rigid type might break and fall off.
Mopar flaps are formed and not flexible. Is this correct?
spike50 - The mud flaps you chose sound like the type I would like to go with. Flexible.
Was this a mopar part or an aftermarket part. Would you please post the manufacturer and part number. Thank you.
When installing the flaps, does this require drilling into the truck, or do they bolt in place with existing holes?
aftermarket changer in my 2001 Dak CC. Originally I was going to get an RF
model but have been thinking about ordering the truck with the cheap radio
and then install a new head unit matching the changer so I can have it hooked
up direct. I went to a stereo shop and they said for $95 they would install everything.
Does that sound reasonable?? The only drawback is that I will only get 4 speakers
instead of 8....Is it hard/expensive to put on aftermarket speakers later??

The headunit install is a breeze with the right equipment and knowledge. I bought my dash kit at store.autotoys.com for about $15. You can probably get the kit locally, just ask for a kit for a 98+ Intrepid. The 2001 is totally different than the 2000. I bought my wiring harness at Walmart for about $5. Each wire was labelled, making it easy to match up the wiring to the new headunit's harness. Check my profile for some pics of my install. The changer is a little more work. I think there was a previous post on the fact that the 8-speaker system is not really eight speakers, but they counted a single two-way speaker as two speakers. Someone with the "8 speaker" system can confirm. I'm now up to 6 real speakers, as I replaced the fronts with components. I've got tweeters in the door sails (need to update the site with pics). The changer may be a little more involved, depending on how you mount it. If you like to do that kind of stuff, I'd highly recommend you do it yourself. Then you've got $95 to spend on CDs.
OHC BABY
I'm not sure on installing the CD changer under the back seat. I felt the room was very limited there, but I may be more limited due to my cargo tray. Anyway, you can buy the MOPAR changer, or there are aftermarket changers that will plug into the factory head unit. I wouldn't think either would be any different as far as ease of installation. There were posts on this before, but since we can't search these posts, I can't find them. Here are a couple of links:

that seems pretty big...You think that will fit in the console??
TD
crutchfield but they dont have a listing for 2001 yet.

my changer is (WxHxD): 10-1/8" x 3-11/16" x 6-3/4", I'd have to go out and measure my console to be able to tell you for sure how big the console is, but I think it will fit, but you would have to get rid of the power outlet in the console. I relocated my poweroutlet so that it sticks out the back of the console for the backseat passengers.

where do you see a $179 adapter? autotoys has the whole kit for $245. It includes the changer, adapter, and free shipping. You also get an additional 4 discs (6 disc vs 10 disc). Granted it won't be covered under the MOPAR warranty. I've spent over $1,000 with autotoys in the past couple of years putting CD players/changer and minidisc players in my last two vehicles. They handle all their customer service over the net, but they are about the cheapest I found anywhere.
My Pioneer CD (CDX-P1250) changer is a 12 disc (small enougth to fit in the console, plus it has features like CDTEXT, CD Title memory, etc. It's on closout for $186!!! MSRP for it's replacement CDX-P1270 is $255, so it should have a street price of about $200 or so. Of course you need a pioneer headunit these models, but in my opinion that's the way to go anyway.
a console at a dealer..Ive been trying to find out the dimensions online but cant
find anything. If the dimensions are right then its pretty big even if it fit width-wise
Im not sure if the lid will close..

"Compatible with new oval face radios. Nit compatible with 2000+ in dash cd radios"
Now I think "nit" is supposed to be "not", but, the unit I have is the cd/radio. That is (along with the cd/cass/radio) also the only way to get the on radio cd controls. So their description leads me to think that it won't work with our factory units. I may be wrong, you've actully installed your changer and mine's just sitting, boxed,in the garage, so I will take your word on it.
triple...
I'll try and remember to measure my console tomorrow morning.
I got a reply from autotoys...they said it is an audiovox type changer
TD
It sounds like you either have a bad changer, the wrong changer for your head unit, or a short in the wiring if there is any.
I ordered a 2001 QC about three weeks ago. Got the premium Infinity sound system with everything except the Changer unit. Thought I would add it later.
I hope that I don't the same problems that you desribe.
What should you do?
I wouldn't try the dealer. I would try Circuit City or some other audio dealer. They usually know more about the sound systems in cars than the dealers do.
Good Luck.
