You actually nailed the MSRP right on the head at $27,365. I did take a look at the New Vehicle Pricing section before I went into the dealership last time- the invoice for this car is $24,673, but I didn't make too much of a fuss when they came back at $25,100 (which matches the TMV price). They wouldn't budge off of the $25,100 (it really is a great color combo and is, by far, the nicest V6 EX on their lot- the only Honda dealership w/i about a 100-mile radius).
I'll be sure to go back and check my math again, but if you're coming up with around $334 pre-tax, and they're asking $399 pre-tax, wouldn't there have to be more than a $427 difference ($25,100 - $24,673) in the purchase price (keeping in mind that the $399 pre-tax figure would be rolling everything into the lease, paying nothing whatsoever until the first payment that would be due a month after I had the car)?
My sincere thanks for sharing your wisdom (and time) :-)

"When you set the bar, you feel obliged to raise it every now and then.
- BMW, on the new 330i
"If 255 hp is `the bar,' what is 298 hp?
- Infiniti, on the G35

That's raising the bar?
My 2003 G35 lease (through Chase) expires 9/12/05. The launch date for the 2006 Lexus IS is 10/01/05 as of now. Chase said that they will let me extend my lease for 1 month only, which would take me out to 10/12/05. That may or may not give me enough time to consider and obtain the new IS as my next car. If I need more time in order to consider the IS, do you have any suggestions for me? Rental cars are very expensive in the metropolitan NY area, though I have not looked into monthly rates (if there is such a thing). I have a purchase option, but given the high residual, I suppose that I'd get burned when I sell it to a dealer (at trade-in value) a few months later.
Many thanks.
David D
Thank you.

Good luck!!
The 06 525xi is 2% lower on residual, but the 525i, 530i and 530xi are all 62%.
Both are 3.0l in size, but the 530i motor is 255hp/220 lb-ft and the 525i motor is 215hp/185 lb-ft.
The Infiniti M35, on the other hand is 280hp/270 lb-ft. The GS300 is 245hp/230 lb-ft. The new RL is 300hp/250 lb-ft.

For retail purchase the rates are 2.9 - 36 month, 3.9 - 48 months, and 4.9 for 60 months or $3000 rebate plus the same $1000 hot button bonus.
Thanks for your reply! Really appreciate it....Ok...so I'm in Ohio and it was/is for a V8.
Now...fortunately or unfortunately, I already made a deal on the car the other night. I had a trade-in that wasnt even close to worth what they gave me for it so I didnt want to argue too far on price for the new car OR wait to let them reconsider their offer. So, I ended up getting the loaded Toyota 4Runner V8 w/ Navi (MSRP $43,155), 36 months (45,000 miles) for $580/month. I'm not particularly thrilled with the settled payment, but like I said, with offer they gave me on my trade factored in, it seemed pretty sweet..... What do you think? In the absolute, I would think you'll tell me I got ripped....but let me know...
Thanks,
Nick
I'm also looking for a G35x in NY. Where did you get the quote of $32,612.12 from? Did it include the premium package. The best pice I've gotten so far is 33,599 which includes the premium package
How much should the lease cost me per month on a 24 month lease with either 12k or 15k miles per year based on the above agreed price,
Any help much appriciated.
It has been posted a bunch before, but money factor on these is 0.00255 . This is the "Buy rate" from BMWFS and just about every BMW dealer will try to mark this up. They more they mark it up, the more you pay.
The residual on a 24/24k lease should be 74% and 24/30k 72% .
The residual on a 36/36k lease should be 63% and 36/45k 61% .
The lease acquisition fee is $625 in most states but again most BMW dealers will try to mark this up.
Just to give you an idea, if you paid all taxes and fees the 24/24 lease would be $597.67 per month plus tax. 24/30k = $623.63. 36/36k = $546.52 36/45k = $564.02 .
If you roll the fees and taxes in, then payments will be higher - then you have to add tax.
In this case not a HUGE payment increase to do 24 months.
I am betting in exchange for the $1,598 discount the dealer is offering they will:
1) Jack up the money factor
2) Jack up the bank acquisition fee
3) Rip you off on your trade, if any
4) Charge you a sizeable "doc" fee and maybe want to sell you some other "Services"
Most 3rd party lease banks offer a much lower money factor and fee, but the residual will be lower. In the end, it will probably be cheaper to go with a 3rd party lease right now.

We need to pump about 20 of those charmers on your front lawn .. then we''ll let you put the rubber on them, the new hoses, the new filters, the new stoppers and the radiator and belt thing, then do the cleaning of about 10,000 french fries and 115 Snickers bars .... then you can tell us ALL about the "Rip you off " thing ............................. :shades:

I just spoke to the dealer and it looks like I may be able to get $36,355 (invoice) for the MDX Touring (no navi, no DVD) in New Jersey. Standard 36 month/36,000 mile lease. The MSRP is $40,295 without any options. I also agreed to pay $482 for the running boards, the only option I'm looking for. The Acura website lists the running boards for $550.
Does this sound like a good deal or do you think I can get below invoice in my area (area code 07922)? For this deal, what lease payments should I expect at $0 down (sign and drive)? What about first month, but no other fees or taxes? I want to roll these into the lease. Thanks!

Thanks much and aloha,

GOOD LUCK
Could you help me with the numbers for the 2005 Avalon XLS lease? Looking for a 0down, 36 (or 39)month lease (12K/yr). MSRP $31, 340, target price $29,100. Thanks in advance!

BMW 745Li and an 2003 Audi A8L both 3yr./36k miles.
Also this would be my third 7 series lease and I've noticed that two year old
745Li's seem to be scarce and $5-10k higher than my existing 740iL when it
was two years old.
I read a few old posts and it says that the 2005 Maxima SE Money Factor is .00045. On the Nissan Website, it lists special leasing for a 2005 SE AUTO. I would like to get a 6 Speed Manual. My question is simply... is the .00045 MF the same regardless of transmission? Thanks so much, again!
Keith
numbers if you would for the above. I am in the Pacific Northwest. 12,000 mile lease for 36, 48 mo. lease.
thanks,
John.
Dealer 1...$421 or $449 tax in with my 6.75% tax per month 36 months 12K year drive off fees are $450 first payment, $475 security, $67.50 tax on rebate, and $94 for temp tag and paperwork.
Dealer 2...$459 month or $490 tax in at 6.75% with zero due, sign and drive. Or $445 a month tax in with $925 down.
How do these look, is one better than the other or are they all basically the same just a switching of numbers from one colum to the other?
It is two dealership working days away before June 1st and am really wondering of I should wait until June to see if things change, hot button is ending. Heard rumors of GM offering GMS pricing to everyone for a short while in June, but again they are just rumors and GM In Your Driveway discounts would be more realistic. But if lease rates go to 3.5% then I'm still better off even if they do take away the $1,000 incentive. Any input greatly appreciated. THANKS!
Thank you so much!!
Craig
Smart buy-
$0 down
$246 / month- 35 months
residual $9432-
tax in NY is 8 3/4%
Have to wait till Tuesday to get the car (they had trade with another dealer) and only put $100 down (didn't sign any binding docs) so if I got ripped off I will eat the $100 and go elsewhere.
How did I do?
Thanks for all your info. I need to lease a 05 Escalade ESV. I have a GMS employee pricing number - do you know if they will let an outside (non GMAC) leasing company buy the car to take advantage of the additional incentives and lease back to me using my employee discount? thanks Also, ive never used an independant company before - should i bother? are they competative with GMAC on the escalade?
thanks
And they wonder why we hate car dealers!
Thank you,
Sean

But he lied to the potential customer when the customer asked him about the .0033 money factor seeming a bit high, the dealer said something to the effect that he couldn't do anything about it since it was fixed by BMWFS.

Any advice/insight would be helpful?
Not defending the dealer either :-)
It used to be only a few BMW dealers marked stuff up, but now it appears they all do. With the Bangle era questionable designs and the recent further slip in quality added to these poor dealer practices it is a wonder they can sell any cars. Part is the BMW badge some folks feel they have to have. The other part, unfortunately for the driving enthusiast, is how good they feel when you are behind the wheel :-(

You could try calling the toll free next week to ask them.
I would be shocked that the original lessee would allow someone to take over the lease if they knew they would be held liable for the car. You cancel your insurance and total it, turn it in damaged or with too many miles and the lease bank goes after the original lessee and not you. Sweet deal for you, bad deal for them.

Thanks,

I only follow BMWs, but if you search for GS300, you might find your answer in this discussion...

Add to that the silly money factor the dealer hit you with.
If you HAVE to get the BMW, then go with a 3rd party lease though someone like leasecompare.com or lease-by-tel - or even look in the local phone book for a lease agent/broker. They will buy the car from the BMW dealer and lease it to you and the rate (even with them making money) will be a LOT less than the dealer tried to charge you. The 3rd party residual will be less (more real world) that the BMWFS one, but the MF will more than make up the difference.
Just FYI, I have a BMW daily driver - so I am not a BMW "hater" :-)
All the GS300 models have the same 0.00225 base rate. The residual varies depending if you pick RWD or AWD and if you pick NAV or not.
For 36/36k the GS RWD is 60% and drops to 58% w/NAV. The AWD is 61% and drops to 59% with NAV.

msrp 47520
price 44760
cap cost reduction 3000
ny tx 8.625%
MF .0025
residual 62%
term 36 months
total due at signing is 4700 (which includes 900 acquisiton fee, 1st month, security, title, tax on acqu fee, plus my cap cost reduction)
i get 520+tax per month
dealer gets 555+tax per month
what am i doing wrong here?
i thought i had all the numbers straight, and the deaer gave me a really good price on the car, but somehow this price difference has caused me to delay the deal...and i was hoping on getting everything done today
