MF is marked up the max allowed - base MF is .00165 for April.
Also, ask them for the adjusted cap cost. If I use the "discounted price" as the cap cost, I get under $1000/mo for the payment, assuming 9.75% sales tax.
The base MF would shave around $40/mo off the payment.
Thank you! They’re telling me they won’t budge on MF rate. Asking for my adj cap cost, currently assuming it’s the “discounted price.” What would the residual be at 39 months? 52%?

BMW does not support a 39 month term.
Shop around; you might find a dealer willing to give you the base rate.
As is, I get $1080/mo plus tax, so the quote is in the ballpark, based on where specifically you live.
MF is marked up the maximum allowed (base is .00165) - that would drop the payment to $1036/mo plus tax.
$900/mo is simply not possible - that would require another $4000 off the selling price, or another $4000 from you, up front.
If that's your budget, you might consider something less expensive - skip the M40i part, perhaps?
Downtown
Does dropping to 7.5k per month do much to the price? In general, does that affect the residual? Or is the 56% fixed?
And you’re right - I definitely don’t need the M40i! Problem is that there are only four X4s in the state (from what I can tell) and 2 of them are M’s.

Add 1% to the residual for 7500 miles. That drops the payment to $1017/mo, before tax (assuming you get the base .00165 MF).
I'm guessing you wouldn't be happy with an X3? Gotta be more of those in stock around here...
I like the vibe of the X4. It’s very sporty and impractical. I love it.
I am looking at a Q5 Sportback S as well, because it actually has a trailer hitch so I can put my bike rack on it. Audi Denver quoted me some ridiculous MF (0.00279) and the monthly payments are almost as much as this BMW at $998. The BMW kicks the Audi’s butt in fun-ness to drive. Plus the BMW salesperson told me maintenance is included on the BMW.
I also test drove the IX. It’s really fun and fast, but the poor thing is so ugly I can’t get over it.
So now I’m in love with a car that’s hard to find in a state where everyone wants something practical… I would have to put a stealth hitch on this beautiful new X4. No shame 🤣.

Well sure, you're comparing 260-odd HP in the Audi to probably 100 more HP in the BMW. Apples to coffee tables comparison.
Nothing - let me repeat this again - nothing is leasing well at the moment. My last two leases were entry level cars (Elantra and Jetta) for around $225/mo. I couldn't get the same car for under $300/mo, these days.
So, either suck it up and pay the higher payment, or start shopping for something more affordable. I don't have much else in the way of advice.
(or, you could probably finance the car for the same payment as a lease - my doctor just bought an MB for his wife. We ran the lease and purchase numbers and the finance payment was actually around $100 less per month)

I appreciate your advice! I’ll sleep on it and see how I feel.
If you see someone rolling around town in an X4 with a bad aftermarket trailer hitch, you’ll know I made a bad financial decision lol.

Don't get me wrong, I like the X4 too, because you don't see them all over town. Just that it's rarity makes dealers think they can charge the moon for them (and mark up the money factor).
Some months back, I saw an X4 M40i in an odd (interesting?) shade of purple - not sure if that was a factory color or if it was some sort of wrap.

Yes I agree with you here.
I did find an X4 xDrive30i MSRP $58,255. It’s white (would prefer that purple you described, but the price isn’t bad).
Can you grab the MF and RV for me please when you get a moment? 10/36. Thank you!

Thoughts on this deal?
39/7.5k
MSRP: 60,500
Discount: $1,200
Selling Price: $59,300
Rebates: $1000
Discounted Price: $58300
Residual Value (57%)
Tax: 9.5%
Down: $0
Due at Signing: $1900
Monthly Payment: $863
MF rate: .00165
That adds about $40/mo. to the payment.
Other than that, seems reasonable. Can you get by with just 7.5K/yr?

Hello!! I’m so happy I found this forum.
Can I please get your thoughts on this deal?
2023 X4 M40i
36/10k
MSRP: 70,885
Discount: $2000
Selling Price: $68,885
Total Price (taxes and fees): $70,442
Residual Value (56%)
Down: $3k
Monthly Payment: $1119
MF rate: 0.00205
Credit: Transunion 847
Location: 80203
I’m hoping to get the monthly payment down to around $900. I realize that might not be possible, but I can dream right?!
I can easily do 7.5k per year mileage. I don’t want to put more down. Low inventory makes me worry about getting further discounts on the base price.
Thank you for your advice!!
