Stephen, I just noticed something. That reddish car behind yours in the top picture looks suspiciously like mine. Is that a Legacy? Just wondering. I've told my wife, son and newborn to make do without me tonight until I see pictures of the tint. They said, "what about Survivor and Friends, daddy, husband, daddy?" I told them "Shush!" So, post them quickly, oh NW man.

Edit: gbrozen: Usually quite reasonable. I wouldn't be surprised if Stephen beat $200.00, although wagons can be a little more.
breaking the bead and dismounting your average car tire is not a lot of fun. high performance, low-profile types are even less fun.
it's possible though if you have the tools, preferably a plastic set since it's an alloy rim. I change tires for my motorcycles by hand all the time but you'd never see me try it on a car tire, fwiw. ;-)

I went w/5% on back windows and rear (limo tint)and 20% front sides. I'm actually illegal as front sides can either be 35% or not at all (can't remember the WA State law). I wasn't thrilled w/the contrast between 35% and 5% of the front and rear sides so I went illegal, shhh...don't tell anyone! :-)
Oh, yeah and I forgot that I won't be able to lower my windows for the next 3 days. The last day of this ban is Sun, the big Vancouver B.C. Soobie Meet. Oh well....

Question
What are the laws in NYS regarding tinted or shaded windshields and windows?
Answer
Section 375 (12-a) of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law prohibits a windshield, as well as sidewings and side windows which are adjacent to or forward of the driver, from being "composed of, covered by or treated with any material which has a light transmittance of less than seventy percent...". In other words, 70% of light must be transmitted through the glass, and therefore the tinting may not block more than 30% of the light.
This standard also applies to rear windows unless the vehicle is equipped with rear-view mirrors on both sides which give a full and clear view behind the vehicle.
It is illegal to sell, offer for sale, equip or operate a vehicle which violates this standard.
Wonder what it says here in Jersey.

I also found on the NYS DMV page this tid bit... No out of state tickets are charged back to your NYS Liscence unless it is a DUI ticket or if the ticket is issued in Quebec or Ontario. So I just realized that any out of state ticket will be merely an extra toll

http://www.cobbtuning.com <---- Just the simple flash animation (text) at the beginning. There have been some teasers about a project car ("Project 666") and they are finally giving some hints as to what kind of performance we might see. It's a turbocharged H6, and lookey at what kind of 1/4 mile times they are expecting. Wow. Makes a B4 seem like a dog.

BTW, I paid $170 for 7 windows tinted to 35% with SolarGard dyed film. Metallic film may cost a bit more.
That scoop looks ANGRY, like it wants to eat the car in front of you! Careful! LOL

I was surprised at how well I can see out of the tint in the rear (5% limo tint), even at night. I also already forget how light it is outside until I roll down the window...almost like the land of the mole people. :-)

There was a large turnout of cars for various install mod projects such as grounding mod, foglight, spring/strut, tinting, pulley, plug mods, etc. I had the bigger project of the weekend. I got right in and started to remove the items that are in the way of the spark plugs and pulley/belts conversion. I was really nervous as my expertise is nil. Basically, you tell me what I need to loosen or tighten, and I do it. I was by myself on this for most of the AM. By noon or so, the guy that has done like 7 uppipe installs from the Stage 0 pkg showed up. We finished gapping (about 26mm) the new, colder NGK spark plugs and installing, removing the stock pulley (one heavy sucker), and installed the new, lighter one and new belts. We got the car back together in order to start it and turn it around so that the front end was facing toward the garage opening and jacked up to prepare for the uppipe install. I now understand a big reason why the 30k svc is so expensive on the WRX. In order to remove the spark plugs, you need to remove just about everything on either side of the engine. The plugs are down at the bottom on either side.
So, we now had the car turned around and up on ramps. In order to install the new uppipe, you have to loosen the connection of the downpipe to the front midpipe, loosen the exhaust from the manifold and loosen the stock uppipe form the downpipe. You need to remove the intercooler and a pleuthra of heat shields. The WRX has a heck of a lotta' shields! Well, one the bolts seized between the downpipe and uppipe connections. One of the guys made a quick errand to get the right tool. I was underneath loosening some connections and I could hear another person working on the nut at the end of the seized bolt above me. I believe he was using a 12pt lug nut instead of a 6pt and effectively rounded the bolt. We then proceeded to find an open store (it was about 7pm) that had a nut splitter and stud remover tool...no luck. As this search is going on, another guy yells down to me and asks me where I got a large dent on my driver's fender side. I'm thinking, this is not the time for joking! Turns out that the wagon fenders are pathetically weak and dent in easily. The fender was pushed in from someone leaning on it while trying to loosen some stubborn bolts. I had to loosen the fender lining in the wheelwell and pop the dent out w/my hand. I got most but the remaining ones won't come out w/o a visit to the DentWizard.
So, now I decide to just get the car back together w/o the new uppipe conversion, or unichip, or MBC installed. My main guy leaves and w/him, takes his o2 sensor tool that allows one to reinstall the sensor. Additionally, another bolt galls as we try to tighten up the spot where the uppipe connects to the downpipe. So, it's 9pm and I've been there since 8:30am. I have to leave the car in the garage after backing it off the ramps because the front end is sticking out the garage opening. I bum a ride back w/another guy. I'm tired, frustrated, worried, angry, and regretful.
Fast foward, I go back the next day and one other guy who has some uppipe experience shows up. I decide to just get the car back together and take it to a shop to do the uppipe, unichip, MBC, and turbo gauge install (should have done this all along!). I've bought a nut splitter and stud remover form Sears that AM. As we are putting back together, another bolt/nut galls itself where the downpipe connects to the midpipe. We still have the first bolt that's seized in the uppipe area. We manage to nut split and remove one of the seized bolts there but not the others because of a lack of clearance. We tighten everything up, put the intercooler back on, and start the car up to see how bad the exhaust leak(s) are. Well, there is one between the downpipe/midpipe but the uppipe/downpipe area is holding well. The car sounds kind of throaty at idle but more like a lawnmower on steroids w/any rpms. I have my Pocketlogger and Palm Pilot hooked up at this point and don't throw any codes. I drove home short-shifting to keep out of the turbo boost as much as possible. No CELs, thankfully.
Today I'm calling DentWizard to get the fender repaired (no paint creasing or cracking present, thankfully). I'm also calling the shop I should have taken the car to in the first place about the uppipe installation. They will also have to grind off the two seized/galled bolts. I've left off a few items that they would have to remove to get to it so it's a bit easier on them.
Well...this is the long, sad saga. I've learned my lesson. The Installfest would have been fine if 1)there were less cars participating, 2)it was just Stage 0 installs, 3)I only had a more minor project to complete..i.e. plugs, pulley, lights, etc.
I met up w/Lark6 (Ed) right after Sunday's install and showed him what happened. It was good to be able to process w/someone and good to meet another SubaruCrew person in the flesh. This was probably the highlight of an otherwise "painful" weekend. :-) Sorry for the loooong post.

My visit to Seattle and the OP was very interesting from a car standpoint - it seemed like at least 10% of the cars on the OP were Subarus of some sort, not quite that high a % in Seattle proper but more than here. Lots of neat antique iron, too. Story for another post.

It's cool, lesson learned. Be patient and you'll get it all installed professionally.

FWIW, I know the sheet metal are pretty soft, but it doesn't look like it was caused from leaning. Looks more like someone had your fender to break their fall (shoulder, elbow and all...).
Good Lock with the DentWizard, I'm sure they'll careress her back to shape
