I'm sure you're right about the Cheviac, Fin. Those wheel wells are looking pretty sparsely populated.

LA 1977 per the source, zooms well enough to ID many:

Gen 1 capri next to the SX. Nose if a white pinto and behind a dark LTD a white car that looks like an AMC. ambassador or rebel.

I was more interested in IDing the building since it looks more Chicago-ish than LA-like. It turns out it is the Bendix Building on Maple Ave. in DT LA.

Broadway and Heather, Vancouver, August 1976 - a lot going on here, zooms nice enough:

red gremlin X. Mine was the same year (or close, details are the same) and had that same stripe. But mine was yellow. Green Mustang II notchback. Maybe a Ghia?

Red Pinto going away in front of an Econoline Delivery Van.

  • ab348ab348 Member Posts: 20,334
Actually I think both of those vans are the rather unloved 1st-gen Chevy vans.

Datsun B210 on the right in front of the 2 red and white cabs.

Plenty of room in that parking space.

'72 Lancia Fulvia? Don't see those every day...
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,481
In Vancouver, big dark colored fastback beside the vans looks like a 68 Galaxie, and a 1st gen Celica beside the Mustang. I agree on the Colt.
  • bhill2bhill2 Member Posts: 2,602
Bang in the gold on the fastback, Fin.

Minnesota per the source maybe around 1963, zooms well enough to name several:

57 Chevy in the third row.

I'll grab an easy one - 1957 Mercury Wagon.

59 Chevy, 59 Buick, second row next to the Falcons.

Both Falcons appear to be hardtops, IIRC making them no older than 1963.

In the row behind the Falcons at L, beside an early 50s GM hardtop (Pontiac?) at the end of the row maybe a 1963+ Rambler. Maybe a 62-63 Ford behind that, but really hard to tell.

    1956 Dodge.

And a 1956 Chrysler. I can't be sure about the car on the far end of the first row, Any ideas?

Are all those people walking on the street because their French cars broke down in traffic? :D

    In Paris

The lime green car ahead of the approaching black lorry looks like a Citroen SM and the red car along side it is a Simca 1300 or 1500

I don't think I'd like driving in Paris.

I've never driven in Paris as it's bad enough as a pedestrian

Cars all get dents and parking three deep in streets is common while the traffic wardens are all pretty ladies who window shop.

Conversely I have enjoyed driving in Italy.

In Britain we have a book called the Highway Code and it is observed reasonably well - but I think the Italian "Highway Code "must be very short

    "Don't give way
    Don't use the brake
    Always use the horn and
    Don't get caught`"

  • explorerx4explorerx4 Member Posts: 20,776
    @magnette,
Driving in the US seems like it's getting more Italian every day. ;)

i am not sure of the small car at the end of the row at Ward's either.

I've driven in eastern France a couple times along with northern Italy, pretty normal in those areas. Torino is a little busy IIRC but not too daunting.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,481
In Paris, not many furrin cars, I do see an ADO16 and a Mini, or variants thereof. Looks like a 204 cabrio alongside the SM.

The Pattullo Bridge across the Fraser River between New Westminster and Surrey BC, probably very early 80s, zooms fine:

  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,467
1st gen (2nd?) next to an Opel Kadette. and a very crumpled Monte Carlo.

Pretty sure the car heading away from the camera in the right lane is a late ‘60s/early ‘70s English Ford Cortina. That first-gen Monte looks like an expensive repair.

Another view on the Pattullo - I agree about the Cortina, and that poor Monte is probably a goner:
