    Sure. For those who've leased a lot of cars know that the most important part of the lease payment calculation that the customer can influence is the selling price (i.e. discounted price) of the car so have to negotiate the price just like you would if you're buying the car. You should only pay the first payment or first payment plus DMV at signing. If someone asks why then I'll explain.

    I'm located on Long Island just outside of Queens so there are a lot of Kia dealers in the area. The discount I got off of MSRP was about $4100 and then I also got an additional $500 off from the NY state drive clean rebate (which only applies to purchases and leases 3 years or longer). First I used the Kia inventory search to find dealers near me with an EV6 GT-Line AWD in wolf gray with suede interior that I wanted. Then I gave Google Gemini AI a list of all the dealers that had what I wanted and asked it to rank the dealers from best to worst based on sales reviews. I contacted a few of the best dealers via email plus a couple of car brokers. One of the car brokers gave me a really good deal but a dealer beat it after giving them a deadline to beat it.

    I got a 36 month,10k miles/year lease and at signing I only paid the first payment plus DMV. With the $4100 discount plus the $500 NY drive clean rebate and an added $950 wheel and tire protection plan, my monthly payment is $535. The total paid at signing for first month payment and DMV was about $800. The monthly payment without the wheel and tire protection plan would have been about $505.

    A realistic target discount in NY is about $3k-$4k off of MSRP and that's way below invoice price. The EV6 MSRP is only about $1500 higher than invoice price so you have to find a dealer willing to give a bigger discount than invoice price. Just make sure they don't include the lease cash in their discounted price quote because a lot of dealers do that to hide that they're giving little or no discount off of MSRP. There's enough EV6 inventory out there and some dealers have been stuck with EV6's for months so they need to sell/lease them.
