Has anyone actually used Slime to seal a puncture in a tire? Is it worth it to keep a can in the trunk....with an air pump? One friend said he once tried to use it and the stuff shot all over. Some reviews say the gunk they use gets all over your wheel etc and can be a mess to try and clean up. What is the alternative if you get a flat, and your car has no spare? And how will AAA help you, if you have no spare? Questions, questions,....... :/

I used it on a lawn tractor tire once and it held for a couple of years.

Haven't had the need to use it and I don't carry it. I do carry a puncture repair kit and a air compressor just in case.

Thin....I just mean the way a person should be, not fat. But I checked on what causes kidney stones. Kidney stones form when waste products in urine—such as calcium, oxalate, and uric acid—become highly concentrated and crystalize. The primary cause is insufficient water intake (dehydration), allowing these minerals to stick together. Key contributors include high-salt/high-protein diets, obesity, and family history.

So, boys and girls, be sure to drink a fair bit of water, and obesity is a cause of kidney stones.
btw....Happy Easter for those who celebrate it!

@driver100 - unfortunately, my mom had an episode of kidney stones on Christmas day. She takes calcium supplements due to osteopenia and previously had appropriate tests to confirm she wasn't taking too much calcium. Nevertheless, the type of kidney stones she had were linked to taking too much calcium. After that, none of her medical "specialists" would give her specific advice as to how much calcium supplementation she should take, given the totality of the circumstances, but she's taking less now, of her own volition and not because any medical professional exercised common sense.

Seems like as good a time as any to update on my latest courtroom saga for traffic:
    1. I successfully wrote the Court to correct their mistakes on venue (County Seat - demanded at the time of the write up as the vehicle code is written it allows you to demand (not request) it if you live or work closer to the County Seat). I wrote that the Sherriff Deputy was within his rights to amend/change the charges, but not within his rights to change the venue back to his home court since the matter was already set for the County Seat per my citation copy (he granted the demand). Furthermore, I noted I was quick with my response once I learned of the amended charges and jurisdiction as I never received their "proof of service."
    2. Whether the Deputy was pulling the shenanigans deliberately (or more likely by administrative oversight - honest mistake) matters not, the law is clear and it was improper for them to change the venue. The judge granted my request to fix the mistake.
    3. I hired not Mr. Ticket (they are lame) but My Traffic Guys. This guy is a lawyer that actually wins. Always count on the guy. Since I already did the hard part, should be a slam dunk case.
    4. I put it at least at 85% the Deputy doesn't show outside his homecourt advantage especially for one lousy amended charge.
    5. I have a rock solid case that 40 MPH is safe in a 35 MPH zone, not conceding I was going 40, but if I was it was perfectly safe, reasonable, prudent, and legal to have done so given the conditions then existing at the time.
    6. If he does show up at trial I have a rock solid case, mainly this one fact: Once I was near the only pedestrians that included children (maybe 2?) and 1 or 2 adults, I had slowed to 25 MPH, and remained at that speed within their vicinity.
    7. There were no visual obstructions and no traffic in front of me blocking any viewpoint.
    8. Just a reminder, this is no longer a "school zone speed violation case" as the Deputy realizing the error of his ways "when children are present" not met in a reasonable interpretation, changed it to a basic speed law violation. Therefore he's wasting the court's time over a 5 MPH discrepancy (PF limit 35, alleged speed 40).
    9. I feel good the State and Courts will not collect any revenue on this case.

I have used it a few times in bicycle tires. It tends to work for basic punctures, as long as it is pin-hole style and not any sort of gash. My bicycles have the advantage of using inner tubes, so cleanup isn't nearly the mess a tubeless tire would be.

Well it's more than being a minute slower; it's safety too. Going slower than prevailing speeds makes collisions exponentially more likely, and we all know how many minutes an insurance claim wastes, not to mention wasted time at body shops and rental car outfits (no offense to those working there).

Lastly, slowing down is no guarantee of not being pulled over. As my case shows, because I did slow down when it was time to, but I know what you mean; point still stands.

My Guys only cost $125 for the "not guilty" plea and to show up at trial. Would have been double if I made them make the motion to change the venue instead of handling that myself. Cheap justice and worth saving my wasted time. Given the odds of the Deputy showing up at the County Seat, I think I'll save my time on this one.

As from my other post, $125. Would have cost at least $250 if I had them handle the hard part of getting the venue corrected first and foremost as a principle.

Interestingly, AI makes a good lawyer. It helped me draft a solid letter that was perhaps more respectful and targeted than my own letter without proofreading by AI would have been.

Here's an example of the good advice it gave:

I may have speculated either the sheriff's office failed to mail off the proof of service or the USPS lost it in negligence. The AI said don't "blame the Gov't" for its failures. At least not to the Judge. Stick to the facts. Fact is I never got notice. Just stated under penalty of perjury I never received the proof of service.

No need to speculate why. Short and to the point.

Had a '25 loaner Audi A5 while my A7 was in service. It is a step down, as also noted by the SA.

It did grow on me a bit as I became acclimated and note I only had it a few hours today. First plus, it's a hatchback! I also liked the sports seats, adjustable thigh support (BMW's better). More road (perhaps the Pirelli P Zero MS vs my Conti DWS06 +?) and wind noise than the A7 and I prefer the IP of the 7 vs 5 (of course, 5 years of familiarity may shade my opinion). 4 cyl. seemed peppy enough, didn't really push it.

Biggest negative? Acres of piano black plastic, notably on the passenger side where I believe you can get an optional screen. In this iteration, just a slab of piano black. As well as the center console. Also, the touchscreen seemed less responsive than mine, I often had to really push an icon to get an action.

And the most fun was as I stepped in and my foot instantly slid down the rubber mat towards the firewall, which was as slick as winter ice with a bit of water on top. Honestly, it could have been an injury for someone with more brittle bones and tendons...

Too much calcium is a major cause of kidney stones. I don't normally drink enough water, but I am going to try and drink more.........it could make a difference. Kidney stones can be really painful, I'd rather try to do what i can to prevent having one.

My federal pension has a cola luckily. Just wish my folks got it that this job was one that would pay me and my wife for life. Sure, it wasn't the highest paying gig out there and I wasn't a doctor or lawyer, but it still is paying me at 71 and will continue. And I know that every 1st business day of the month, that amount is in my checking account waiting to pay for our lives. The thing about the RMD's is that we have no choice but to do them and pay the taxes with them even if we just throw the income into another vehicle. Uncle Sam wants his cut sooner then later...and he always gets it!

At first I was worried that my old Chrysler wouldn’t be able to use E15 but then I remember reading in my 84’ Corvette owner’s manual that even that far back engines could use it. I wonder if that means lower gas mileage?

    Can your Mustang use it?

I missed the E15 thing, as well, but what I read sounds like E15 will be allowed to be sold everywhere, not that E10 will be completely replaced with E15. Many pumps already dispense E15 and call it "Unleaded 88" because the ethanol bump gives it an extra octane point. I'm not sure how much E15 availability will reduce gas prices. Prices for E85 tend to not be much less expensive than regular fuel.

I could probably run the Maverick on an E30-ish blend and still get the benefits of higher octane with the turbo.

I think I mentioned that we switched from Verizon to T-Mobile a few months ago. It's about $30 a month less and we both got new phones at no cost if we stay with them for 2 years.

If you aren't getting enough junk mail, or if you want more spam, you should consider doing it too.

I was hesitant to say that I am getting 10 times more junk, but I think it is so. I don't keep a spreadsheet on email. :/

No issues with Mint Mobile here. My cell bill is less than anyone I know. The downside is that it does mean no subsidy and buying an unlocked phone outright, when the time comes for replacement.

And folks are skeptical when @oldfarmer50 says we are being tracked.

Everyone should fill up or top off before May 1st.
That's when the E15 is going to start getting delivered.

I'm going to fill up all 4 of my cars multiple times before May 1. It has absolutely nothing to do with E15.

We switched to Consumer Cellular last December and are very pleased with it. Same AT&T towers we used for years but better customer service than AT&T ever gave us. There's a C C office about 5 minutes from the house and the folks there are always friendly & helpful. And like the commercial said, took about 20 minutes to switch over with no loss of service. We went with their "senior plan" though I think we could've gone with a lower priced per phone plan as we don't use the internet that much, I've only gone over 5 gigs/month maybe twice in the last few years, usually staying below 5 gigs. The wife uses way less than I do but we're happy with the plan we got. I've got a iPhone 15 Pro Max our oldest gifted me with while my wife has an old XR model which needs to be replaced. I've offered my old iPhone 12 as a temporary gap until she gets a new iPhone but she's keeping her XR right now. It's been having some charging issues of late so betting she'll take me up on my offer sooner than later, as it's in like new shape. I always keep a case and screen protector on my phones so they still look brand new.
Did want to try Mint mobile but had a hard enough time getting her to switch to C C. Finally went over there to find out what it was all about and then had her meet me there to do the switch. Very seamless & she's quite happy now. I use my gps a lot at work so need a good cell phone signal. Very happy camper here!

Just started using Brave on my computer as I heard that it worked pretty good. So far, after 4 hours, am impressed with how quick it loads pages. Still use Firefox for many things and use Chrome less and less as I don't like that that browser seems to delve too much into what one does on the web. Have been using Duck Duck Go for my search engine for a few years now and like it to. So far with our switch to Xfinity in December, am pretty pleased with the way it all works. For the last 37 years, we were locked into the only service our city allowed but in 2025, they finally let AT&T fiber and Xfinity come in and many folks have switched from what I've been reading. Choice is a good thing and we finally have it.
One last thing, have noticed that I'm watching YouTube and Tubi a lot more than ever. There's so much great content on YouTube and like the selection of movies on Tubi currently. Like the idea that these channels are free also.

Yes; we activated a phone for my daughter this year (she turned 18 and is a HS senior, so seemed like a reasonable gesture), and the prospect of paying what my Verizon plan wants was daunting. My son suggested a "US Mobile" plan, which uses any of the major US networks (you pick upon activation), so I was able to get her plan set up to use the same Verizon network as mine. Everything is basically the same about it, functionality-wise, but it costs us a little under $30/month (as opposed to the ~$90/mo Verizon wanted).

I would probably go to Consumer Cellular also but I’m on a family plan with Son #1 for at least 7 years with T-Mobile. My phone has been paid off for years and I’m about to get a new one. My Son (big spender) doesn’t even bother collecting for the monthly service which he said is less that 25 bucks a month. He said they no longer offer the plan he has but I’m pretty sure he’s grandfathered in unless he changes any part of the service then he has to start into a new plan. So far, none of us need to change anything since everything is working fine. Change for us is not good.
