Can you shed any light on 6th Gen reman autotrans? Do the remans have a different supplier or harder spec carrier bearing installed?
As for the trans, we are being told that since mid 02 all issues have been fixed, how I dont know as they didnt give details. Most of the common failures are in the 2000 and 2001 although they can and do go back to 98 in some cases..I have not seen many 02 and no 03's as of yet..
These reacalls are all coverd by Honda so should be free, Second when i got the wire harness part replaced they forgot to hook up a connector so my AC did NOT work and did not find this out until I went out of town the next day so if you have this re-call MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THAT YOUR AC WORKS!
I think that it would drain the battery too much to keep High on all the time, but the seats wouldn't heat sufficiently or fast enough using Low. That's just my assumption.
I paid attention yesterday - it took 6 minutes for the seats to be too warm on high, and I needed to move it to low. That was in 6 degree weather - today, with the minus numbers, maybe I'll try letting it cycle, and see what happens.
but seriously... is XM radio available on 4 cylinder sedans?? or just 6 cylinder?
LX? or just EX?
thanks
I love the XM radio and those heated seats sure come in handy when it's 25 degrees outside and I am parked outside because my husband is being greedy with the garage.
Took it back to dealer and they performed a 4 wheel alignment and road tested car. Noticed slight improvement but still feel the drift, additionally after the alignment the steering wheel was off center, took it back once again and that was corrected. Question is can a off center steering wheel be adjusted without re doing the alignment? and has anyone else been experiencing alignment/drifting problems?
Accord has such remarkable steering feel that you can notice even the slightest anomalies.
thanks,
Frank

I have several 6 gallon plastic gasoline containers into which I pour my used oil-several garages around me burn the stuff for heat. Nobody would just pour it on the ground-bad idea.
Changed oil today on my 97 I4 accord-took all of 15 minutes versus at least an hour to go to a quick oil change place and who knows what they will do to your car.
I noticed that even Bardahl sells a special blend formulated just for Honda cars. Has anybody out there ever experienced problems in the long run using regular PS fluid ?
I did notice last night that when i started up it read like 82 degrees and it went down slowly to like 68 over like 10 minutes, it may be part of the logic behind it i guess... good luck!
If anything u can check the sensor to make sure its not blocked by anyhting, its behind the front bumper...
Honda dealer knew nothing until I took info. from other Honda owners. It took them 2 days to do the repair, but they did fix it. Followed the Honda service bulletin to fix the popping noise. My Honda is now perfect. The only problem I have had. By the way, it gets 33mpg on highway driving between 65-70 mph. Thanks
Thanks.
But lately, it does have this vibration problem if I don't warm the car long enough and drive it when the temp outside is below freezing.
Brrrrrrrr........
The vibration gets worse if I put the car in reverse or turn on the rear defrost.
I asked my co-worker. He said it has something to do with the torque converter when the engine is not running hot.
It only occurs for me when I pull up to a red-light and have > 1 accessory on and/or the wheels turned, causing extra strain to the engine. Simple fix: Place the transmission in neutral while you wait. I enjoy doing this anyway so I don't have to keep my foot planted so firmly on the brake for so long, and also whenever I do this I can't tell that the engine is running at all!
Also, does any one know a trick to rejuvenate a part-time speedometer? It works ~40% of the time.
It started after I used the rear window defroster for the first time this year (our temps have been sub freezing for a few days). I thought at first it was some kind of warning to turn it off (my former cars had timers for this). But the beep continued after the rear defroster was turned off, and even after the entire climate control system was turned off!! Also, it continued after shutting off the ignition and restarting (twice).
There are no warning lights on or other visible causes. Somebody in an earlier message said that their DVD nav system malfunctioned in cold weather and emitted beeps. Does that make sense?
Help!!
If anyone wants to enter my previous post in a stupidest question contest, I cannot object.
Post this again on friday, I want the weekend to start off with a laugh.
