Did you recently take on (or consider) a loan of 84 months or longer on a car purchase?

kirstie, Is it OK to talk about dealer documentation fees here ? Or is this also out of bounds for this forum !! Just checking, I don't want to have my writing privileges revoked.

Did you get this price before or AFTER July 4th?
I posted earlier that the "rebates" were still available in certain states, HOWEVER, I was just told that, while the customer rebates are still there, the DEALER INCENTIVES were removed after July 4th.....and the price I was quoted BEFORE July 4th is NOW $600 MORE on a Sienna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is just unbelievable to me in a climate when the US companies are offering the best prices ever. Grand Caravan or Chevy Uplander, here I come!
Anyone else have this experience?
To add insult to injury, we wanted to lease the car and they basically gave us the worst lease terms in the world--$386 for 36 months. The never even asked for my info to run a credit report. Do these people think we are totally STUPID? Needless to say, we walked away from the deal.
I'm glad to see that there is someone else out there who doesn't wet their pants over shiny-new sheetmetal and the new car smell. Yes, I do think dealers think we car buyers are STUPID, because most buyers, once they have their sights locked in on these items, invariably cave in. So, if you were the dealer wouldn't you try the same thing, doesn't your family like to eat steak and lobster sometimes ?
When will people learn there is ALWAYS another car out there and another dealer that might want a sale ? That's not to say that this other dealer hasn't done the same thing (as has happened to you) to other buyers, because I'm sure he has it's just that when they are hungry enough, they will deal. If there was one dealer that always gave the best deal all the time, there would only be one dealer in a given area. Who else would want to compete with such an honest and great guy ?
It's an awful thing this car buying thing !!!

I am considering buying a new Lexus ES 330, but did not findany rebates or other incentives online. I will probably pay cash so financing incentives are not of interest. I would think Lexus would be aggressive these days with the 2006's coming out soon, so was hoping I could get one at or below invoice. Your thoughts?
Thanks!

I am looking at the 2005 Sienna LE and would be interested in any information you have on incentives including the military incentive. I am in Mid Atlantic region and am considering traveling down to North Carolina if the incentives are as much higher as it seems.

What are the tax, title and registration implications of shopping out of state? I thought many DMVs required you to pay tax on the purchase price of the vehicle to register it. Would you end up paying tax in both states?

One of the Toyota dealers in the Washington DC area lists the college grad incentive as $750 instead of $400. I have not seen this any where else. Are you aware of any recent changes in the program or is this just another advertising gimic? I am thinking of get my Sienna this weekend because even without any incentives the price is a couple of hundred below invoice but I am leery that incentives may be back in August.

Hope this helps.

Can anyone advice me on how much to pay for a 05 Dodge Caravan SE (basic model). Taking into account the current employee pricing scheme, saw that edmunds.com suggests around $15,800.
But can a better deal be negotiated on top of this price ?
Apprciate any inputs.
Thanks !
Is the Factory To Dealer incentive on the Honda Accord still: up to $900?
If so, does this amount apply to both the V6 and 2.4, or are there different amounts for each?
Thanks
