I am in the market for the BMW 325i. Dealers are currently offering the 2006 model and the best deal I got so far is $500 over invoice. The problem is that the dealer does not have the exact match that I want (for instance, I really want fold down seats and graphite exterior).
The dealer told me I could order the car with exactly the features and colors I want. The dealer still offers that option at the same price.
My doubt is that the car will take 2 months to arrive if ordered and in 2 months the 2007 model will arrive. The dealer can't say whether the 2007 models he will receive will have the match I am looking for and did not tell if he would be able to offer the 2007 at the same price, but most likely not.
I am not in a hurry to buy, but was wondering if I am leaving a good deal on the table if I wait for the 2007 BMW 325i. There is also the factor that the 2006 I could buy now would be a 1-year old "new" car by the time the 2007 is out in 2 months, so paying that extra for the 2007 might not be that bad either when thinking about resell value.
Any advice?
Thanks,

The 325 Coupe will become 328 in 2007.
( And the 330 will become a 335. )
The Sedan ** MAY ** also receive these motors in the 2007 model year. Though BMW has not yet officially announced this . .

Enjoy!

Hoping a 335 Sedan will also be available – by next Spring . .
Take your lumps and just live with it!!!
If it makes you feel any better, the first new car I bought I offered $10,500 and they accepted... I was happy... then they don't sell any more of the few they had left... a month goes by... and they advertise them in the paper for $9,995.
Ya win some ya lose some. Plus, my $10,5 was a good deal, no matter what happened later, so I was happy.

What if they didn't or they pulled offers completely cause the cars started selling like hotcakes? Come on ... Betrayed?
How about them (Ford) making no profit on the vehicles? Aren't they betrayed by their customers who dared to take all incentives and expect more? Of course not.
They put a product out there - some people found it attractive right away and bought it for X. Ford found that was not enough and if the pace continued they would have cut the production or worse. So they lowered price to X-Y. It was enough to attract more people, but apparently not enough again. So the price goes to X-Y-Z. Perhaps this time will be enough, but who knows... As much it is not customer's duty to buy anything they find unappealing or too expensive, the manufacturer is not bind by any code or duty to sell it for certain price. It's a marketplace - things sell for whatever they sell at the moment and it takes time for both sides to determine how much it should be.
Betrayed?? :surprise: :surprise:

It hard to purchase knowing rest of country saving extra grand right off the bat .. thoughts ?
My feeling GM should be consistant across whole
country. I never seen where one region is less than rest of country.
I live in MASS

country.
Why? Because you say so? What if they offered larger incentives in NE - would you protest then? They offer as little as they think s necessary to meet their sale goals - if NE is a region with better sales, there is no reason to give up this money. If sales go south they will surely change their strategy soon enough.

Is there other incentives I have missed.

I *was* interested in purchasing a Chevy Impala .. went to see what the incentives where and noticed
that it is *only* $500 in Northeast - *but* $2000 in *every* other region of the US .. I find this unacceptable.
How do you expect people in
NorthEast to purchase a vehicle when folks in ALL other parts of country can get
an extra $1500 off - right off the bat.
I will now focus my purchase on a Toyota Camry unless GM
increases the incentive in northeast to match rest of country. This is basically a slap in face for folks living in North East. GM should be ashamed to ethically discriminate against folks in NE.
The resaon the incentives are less in the northeast is because the inventory in the northeast is lower then the rest of the country.
The cars are selling well in the northeast and not so well in the rest of the country.
It is funny how people grow accustomed to some things to the point they feel entitled and get angry when it's not there. Manufacturer/seller is not to provide us with incentives, but to sell the stuff. If it sells for whatever the price is, no reason to change the price. Nothing to do with discrimination.

The only vehicle that even gets incentives from Rover is the LR3 and even then it is usually just in the form of subvened leases. Sometimes at the end of the model year they will throw a few thousand in trunk money at the left overs but that is it.
Of course, buying domestics new is hard to justify economicially.... the Vibe is my favorite, but it won't suit everyone.

Kirstie h and tidester...have you heard anything.
A follow-up said that GM would probably announce 0% financing for 60 months!!
works ... it claims to be better than employee pricing ?
Does one have to pay dealer prep/advertising fees/doc fees - you know dealer markup with GMS pricing ?
Thanks!
I am sure one of the two moderators will give a more informative answer. If you have read my post#3735, you might want to hod off until after July 5th and see what new incentives will be offered. Who knows, maybe GM will match Chrysler's offer.
The standard dealer 'processing' fee of $489.50 was reduced to $75 because of the GMS pricing.

While GM took the time and trouble to send them giant banners proclaiming a "72 hour sale" (which actually lasts about 200 hours), they couldn't answer my simple question.
They said they'll call GM tomorrow and let me know.
Thank you,

On June 26, 2006 negotiations were complete and a contract was signed. The contract agreement was for a 3.9% financing.
On June 27, 2006 I went to the dealership to pick up the owner’s manual and additional key (not available at the time of the transaction). I was approached by an employee by the name of Denny who stated that there was no way she could get the 3.9% financing and I quote, “God couldn’t even get 3.9% financing.” Interesting statement since I had researched Mitsubishi’s current financing offer of 3.9% for 72 months ending June 30th
He then attempts to explain what appears to be an internal disagreement about the deal, and is now asking for an additional $1,700 or the deal is off.
Can they do this?? In addtion he said he was going to report the car stolen if I didn't return it or come resign a contract? What are my options? :confuse:

In spite mailing the coupon to me, then a reminder, and a few emails, GM has decreed that it can only be combined with zero percent financing on select models. Naturally, the model in which I'm interested is not among them.
It's no wonder GM is going down the tubes.
Well, IMO not allowing combination of discounts will keep GM from going down the tubes. You know - it's that pesky profitability thing!!
Instead of being sleazeballs though we contacted the bank and bought down the rate from the profits of the deal. It turned a fairly profitable deal into a near loser but it made the customer happy.
Handling this in the manner they have erodes their credibility and demonstrates they don't have a clue.
Yep.
They have made their price structure rival the state-owned German rail system. It absolutely boggles the mind. This plan, that plan, here's a list:
GMS
GM Supplier
"In The Driveway"
Cash rebates
Financing rebates (low APR)
Conquest rebates
Loyalty rebates
Loyalty rebate only when trading in
Rebates for financing with GMAC
Rebates for NOT financing (over on the Vibe board, don't take MY word for it)
GM Card: Gold, Platinum, Blue; topped-off earnings; GMS-compatible and non-compatible
Lease Loyalty bonus
Lease Pull-Ahead
Bonus cash (maybe that's covered above, I dunno)
And now the "Certificate Extraordinaire".
I am not making any of this up.
Anybody wanna honestly argue that these guys know what they're doing?

With GM, it gets complicated... so I gotta ask here:
For a Silverado 1500 reg cab, what else is there besides the $2,500 rebate? I'm not interested in 0% financing.
Is there a conquest rebate? Or loyalty? Or the dreaded "coupons" at $250 each?
Thanks in advance,
-Mathias
With the new pricing plan, the Employee discount now gives a $500.00 rebate...so..it ends up that it now costs "MORE" since the Employee discount program went into effect today.
I think I will now wait for the Employee plan to end and wait for the former rebates... (hopefully).
I am looking to buy a new Avalanche next week, so I could really use one of these. Do you still have yours? Could we work something out?
Is the Certificate Extraordinaire transferrable to me?
Thank you,
Tom
