I was offered the following even trade from a private seller: His 1995 LS 400 with 161,000 miles on it, clean car, nothing mechanically wrong... in exchange for my 1997 ES 300 with 101,000 miles on it, clean car, nothing mechanically wrong. My question is what would you do and who's getting the better deal if I follow through with this? Thanks!
Looking at a 2001 Audi A6 2.8. Cold weather package, leather seats, moonroof. Black. Great shape, four new tires, 21k miles. Private seller asking 25,900. Good deal?
>>El Grande' Caravan with the 3.8, now were talkin' .. (1996 Grand Caravan LE only 35k miles.)
you "should" be seeing the $4,5/$5ish zipcode ... down Retail Rd, $7,900 in the same paper and start singing goodbye at $6,5/$7,500 .. ultra clean, low milers are hard to find anywhere.!<<
Let's "assume" that both of these bad boys are "glow in the dark", now let's "assume" they both have been cared for by the Mother Superior from my church .. now let's "assume" they have rubber from yesterday, now lets "assume" the service on both are 110% ..
In this particular case, there worth about the same money, "in and around" $7ish .. and you would be crazy to trade from a 100k vehicle to a 160k vehicle -- Move away from the Draino ..!
ZIP- 80015 .... ? I have no friggin' idea .. but as of now, you live in Richmond, VA ..
Black and tan, good color combo for Richmond .. it's a V6 SLE, new sneakers, all the stuff with a factory spoiler .. miles are Not your friend here, your another one we need to find a better dating service for .. 76k is gonna kill ya.
If it's a nice one, no rap speakers, no Vogues, lookin' and feelin' 40k, then you should be seeing the high $7's, low 8's ..
Terry, I was told to ask for you. A local dealer has a used 2003 black Sorento LX. It has 8600 miles on it. I talked to a salesman on the phone and he said that they were asking 22800 for the car. After I stopped laughing I told him I could buy a new on for that. It has 4WD and ABS (no other options) What is a realistic price for this car. I'm going to look at it tomorrow afternoon ( 6-25). Thanks, Tom
.... I can't tell ya much about the LX's .. but the loaded up 03 EX's with all the stuff, with 4k/7k are doing "around" $18,0 at the auctions .. so what's it worth on the retail side - $20,0 ..?
Personally, I don't get much involved in what folks drive, I like em' all ~ but in this case If I were you, I would be lookin' at an Escape, CR-V, Jeep, Rav, Mazda Tribute, Nissan, Mitsu, Land Rover, Envoy, Aztek, etc, etc, etc, etc.com ... "Anything But" a Kia ..!
Did you hear, and this is from CBS news, that US Forces used Barney's songs and various stuff from Metallica as torture/coercion methods for getting the Iraqi POWs to talk?
Evidently, the guys are so pure, they couldn't handle Metallica's lyrics, and Barney annoys everyone..
I'm in Louisville, KY. Potential Trade: 1997 BMW 528i auto-Aspen Silver/black leather, Premium Pkg., DSP stereo, CD changer, heated seats/steering wheel, Michelins 3/4 worn, a couple of small rock chips/dents on hood and a scuff on the rear bumper. Full service history 90,000 miles.
Potential Purchase: BMW Certified Pre-Owned 2002 325xi AWD wagon auto-White/Sand Leather, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package(heated seats and headlamp washers), Xenon Lights, Park Distance Control, and Full-Size Spare Tire. 10,000 miles.
Terry's thinking that pretty much the exact same 528i as div2's but white with 75k miles and in the NW will go for 18k...? Is this discrepancy normal...?
Regards... Vikd Who needs to go to KY if he wants to buy a '97 528i...
hi, I have a 2003 MBZ E320 7,000 miles Tectite Gray/Charcoal Leather, 6disk CD Changer, Moon Roof, Upgraded Stereo, Metallic Paint. Window was $51660.00. Car is as new. I live in Los Angeles, CA. Whats it worth ???
Right color anywhere, 4dr, we have some nice upgrades and some nice toys .. trade side, in and around the $40ish figure, "could" "might" see $41 if it's puuuurfect ..
...... $14/$15 is was what the dealer might have in it .. $18 was the selling, asking price .. Left coasters pay a little more than most of the USA .. on the "5"'s, theres a big difference in 75k and 90k ..
have an '01 saab se wagon. 3 year lease (36k). after 2 years about 1k over. wife drives it and loves it(pto approved, as i say). buyout is 18k. has been rear-ended(only the bumper cover and underneath support replaced); no body damage. have had some other issues, nothing wrong now as far as i can tell. should we look into another one now, ending lease early, considering the incentives, or just wait until next year, to decide wether to buy, or lease another? I'm thinking it's kind of a crap shoot.

Baby (light) blue, 3.3L 6-cyl, auto, 16K miles, Boston area, pw, pdl, pw, rear defrost, SRS air bags, cruise, cloth int, rear AC, rack. It dosen't have power pedals or remote entry, not sure about heated mirrors. Show room condition. Dealer asking $17.5K. What do you guys think he might have in it and might be a fair deal?
Thanks! And as for the AWD-it's for my wife; the least bit of snow/ice makes her nervous. And if the xi can make it out of the driveway after a heavy snow, then perhaps I can unload the Jeep and get a serious track rat.
Just wanted to give you an update and a HUGE Thank You for the info and all the help on the Excursion. (post#12737 remember,01, dsl, limited) my brother took it to the Lexus store and they offered him $26 after BMW offered him $25, wow, was he upset! As you recommended he went retail, he must of had 10 calls and sold it in 3 days to a person that lives almost down the street from us for $32. He is overjoyed but I have a feeling that he won't be visiting the BMW, Lexus dealer for any new business. Again, you are a wonderful service to everyone on this board, including Edmunds and obviously the other posters feel this way. I hope they are paying you the big bucks. I think we owe you like 25 steaks and 10 cases of beer.
And no, our neighbor has yet to sell his $57k MB or his Caddy.
Still haven't seen you list color... Terry or Bill is gonna wack your pp for sure (that's a Monty Python thing for those to young to recognize it). Probably should re-mention the stuff about the fuel pump again, since it's been awhile since your first query on the Windstar.
Thanks for the trade in value...I was given $18K at one dealer, $20K at another. Looks like I'll be keeping the Passat... wish I could get out of it and back into a Civic...I owe $28.5K (but sent in a $600 payment recently)...
As I did not keep up with the forum for two days, a re-post . . .
Looking to sell -
1999 Honda Odyssey EX 56k miles good condition zero problems all records, all TSB's, and recalls New Michelin Symmetry's in past 6 months no add-ons
Still haven't decided via trade or to sell via paper autotrader, etc. Know what I should do, but the hassle factor(how much $$ difference) . . .
Now some additional info;
1. Color - Forest Green, paint is in good shape 2. Live in the Washington DC Metro area 3. No leather, was not offered in 1999 4. Not dropped off a cliff
I am sorry that I affended you by just giving you the zip and not the city. I live in Denver Colorado. I was asking the dealer trade in for a 1999 Toyota Solara SLE, 75K miles, Black, V6, auto, leather, spoiler, new tires, power everything.
2000 Ford Windstar SE (Cabernet Red - maroon) 58K miles CD player RH power sliding door alloy wheels rear sonar system (when in reverse) everything else standard for an SE model
The exterior has a few dings and scratches, and the interior is probably average cleanliness.
live in Raleigh, NC area
Also, the dealer told me the fuel pump needs to be replaced because the fuel sending unit has failed (gas gauge). That costs $500 so I'm not sure whether it is better to fix it prior to trade-in or not.
they'll hit you a lot harder than $500 with a "mystery" fuel system problem - if it's fixed, they don't have to come up with their own number for repair.
....... Eeeeeooow ..! $28,500 .....? real money ..?
Some would say you have a little bit of "negative equity" ... others might say you are -Tanked- .. ouch.!
But anyway these are Real Nice vehicles, they drive great, look sharp ~~ you just may have this one for a little longer than say, the building of the Great Wall of China ... :-)

That's nice. Now how many miles on it? Tut tut...
Well not that bad.. about $11K. Might do better with a Private sale.
And why do you need AWD in Kentucky? TO go and drive it to Alaska with Satch?
It shoudl take about $28K to buy one.. they add the CPO in.. they got $29,500-30K in it.. they prolly wanna get $33K for it is my guess.
That's if I read what I thought I did on Roadfly...
