Hey volvo-max, Could you give me an updated Manheim value on my Z4 again for East Coast(Maryland). It is a 2004 3.0 liter with 15k, no dings, garaged kept under full warrenty and maintenance until August 2008. 6 spd with dual leather power seats and BMW "Onstar". Thanks very much, Wayne.
Ok, my lease is coming to an end and I'm trying to decide whether to buy, sell privately, or just turn it back in to the dealer. Thus, I'm looking for the current trade-in value of my car.
Here are all of the pertinent details.
Location: Shreveport, LA (71111) -- also, info for Los Angeles, CA would be appreciated.
Vehcile: '04 Toyota RAV4 "L"
Body Style: 4dr (5dr with rear?)
Engine: 4cyl, Auto
Driveline: 2wd, FWD
Mileage: 19,500
Color: Ext - Black; Int - Gray
Major Options: Leather, Auto Sun/Moon, Alloy wheels
Condition: Good (no major scratches or dings on the exterior, no rust -- interior is great, no stains, scuffs, marks or anything); Tires still have good tread on them (original tires, been rotated & balanced every 5000 miles); Brakes are good, still original; All mainetnance has been performed, with records.
Let me know if you need anything else. Oh, and FYI, the lease residual is (off the top of my head) somewhere around $12,500
I'm looking to trade in the following vehicle: 2000 Audi A6 Quattro (4.2), pretty much all options (eg, 17" wheeels, xenon lights, heated seats, CD changer, etc.) 89k Silver/black interior Good condition overall; a few paint nicks on the bumpers but no damage to paint; interior is fine. New tires Bought certified pre-owned, so no hesitation re maintenance Washigton DC area
Edmunds' TMV is $9,600; blue book for good condition is $13.4k (!). Does anyone have an idea what I can realistically expect? Thanks!
Just from my occasional perusal of used 4runners FS, it doesn't sound like that incredible of a price (I could be wrong). My gut feeling says, I'd probably pass on a former rental & keep looking for a one or 2 owner/driver vehicle. People will sometimes do crazy things to or in a strange car in a strange city, if only due to stress & unfamiliarity.....
And when you go to sell it at some point, it will have the "former rental" history attached: I can't believe that will help the resale value.
Yes, you should worry about corrosion. I was astonished find it big time on my son's '95 Maxima brake backing plates when I was doing some repairs a year ago here in Ohio. That car is a virtual twin to the one you have under consideration.
A good quality inspection will tell you all you need to know.
There are highly desirable vehicles - I wish I could find one like you're describing in reasonably good shape for $4500. The stick doesn't really hurt it's value IMHO.
Would like to get out of this SUV as soon as possible but not desperate. Was offered $23 for trade-in but wanted to do some more research. Getting a wide range of numbers so I need some help. Edmunds TMV Trade-In of $20,373. KBB Trade-In (Good Cond) $25,765.
Dallas/Fort Worth (Texas) 2006 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4dr SUV Auto V6 2WD 8800 miles Black Exterior/Tan Cloth Interior 17" Alloy wheels/Power Seat (8-way driver and 4-way passenger)/double decker storage/cruise/audio jack/leather wrapped shifter and steering wheel/Rear spoiler/Daytime Running Lights/Roof Rack/Auto-dimming rear view mirror/alarm Overall "good" condition (no stains, scuffs, dings, tires consistent for mileage) No prior damage
I've read that it's better to wait to discuss the trade-in value until after you've agreed on the price of the car you're buying. Is this true, or does it matter at all? Thanks!
IMHO, all that matters is the difference. You should determine what the fair market value is for the new car and the used car. Then do the math and aim for the difference price.
I think negotiating two transactions when the final goal is the difference price is a waste of time.
Madison, Wisconsin 1999 Nissan Quest SE 4 dr minivan 158,000 miles (!) Silver with gray cloth It has standard equiment for the SE plus a CD changer & trailer hitch
Has a few very minor scratches, no dents or accidents. Tires are about 50% Good brakes
My aunt and uncle replaced almost the same exact van with another Quest. Book value on it is about $2,000. In my area, you could probably get twice that much if you sell it yourself.
Hi! Thanks in advance for any info you can give me. Our van has lots of miles (115,000) so I know it won't be much. We're in the Louisville, KY area. It has 2nd row captain's chairs, AM/FM/Cassette/CD player, rear air, dual side sliding doors, overhead console (yes, I'm grasping now... ).
We just put new tires on the front, new brakes in the rear and overhauled the transmission (belt broke). MIL did back up into my parked van and damage was under $1000 (paid by her ins. co.) to fix the bumper and get the dents out of the tailgate.
I'm probably going to have to pay someone to take this van off my hands so any value as a trade-in would be great!
Sorry I can't help with trade in info on your 4runner, but would appreciate knowing why you want to get rid of it (only of course if its because of issues with the truck) as I am thinking of buying one (4wd). Thanks, DQ
I've had no issues with the 4Runner at all. I had one as a rental for 2 months once before and loved it. So when my 2004 Nissan Pathfinder was totaled in an accident back in October, I had to make a quick decision and went with another SUV - probably out of fear that someone would plow into me again. I was just thinking about going back to a car for multiple reasons unrelated to any quality/issues with the 4Runner. If I had to pick which one I like better - the Pathfinder or 4Runner - it would be the 4Runner hands down. Hope this helps!
Thanks in advance for any information. What do you think a fair trade in value would be?

Appreciate any help you can provide. I was hoping to trade my '02 S2000 in on an '07 Infiniti G35. The dealer offered $14,700. This is pretty low by any standard and I would like to know what is realistic.

Actually, what you were offered isn't bad considering your geographic location and the time of year. If your car was in So-Cal it would be worth @ $16,000 wholesale.
Hello, just wonder what I would get for this sweet car:
2005/Infiniti/G35 Coupe Premium package: Bose, Sunroof...and a bunch of other stuffs Mileage: 16800 Color: Diamond graphite/ Graphite interior Location: PA

Hi, I'm looking to trade a 2006 Acura TL. It's white with tan interior, auto, base model with no navigation. It has 3,000 miles, no accidents, no scratches, and a 3M clear bra. I live in the far northwest suburbs of Chicago. What should I expect? Thanks
That makes sense and I did already factor that in. I guess my question which still hasn't been answered is what would a dealer give me for it. If the answer was the 14500-15500 I believe and know that I will get more than that. In my previous experiences with trading in vehicles, I have always received what KBB trade in value was if not a little more, and also received the vehicle I was buying at invoice. So, is there a price or is it the 14500-15500? Thanks
Have you been buying mostly domestic vehicles for a while?
If so then buying the domestic for "invoice" and getting KBB for your trade is probably overpaying a little bit. There might be a few thousand dollars worth of rebates on the new car which would be enough to overallow from real wholesale value up to the artifical KBB trade value and still leave a substantial profit for the dealer.

I'm looking for something like this for my son right now and, damn, it's like "Mission Impossible."

Mileage is 102,000 black color--comes complete, leather, heated seats, etc--
I think I can buy it for about 4500 or less
two questions
1. Should I worry about corrosion with a 10 yr old car in Minnesota, can this be seen accurately in an inspection>
2. what is a good price for this car>? my guess is that the 5 speed cuts the potential market to about 3 people, me being one!
thanks
John

Though I must say I am surprised by 14,500-15,500 on a car that has 4000 miles on it and is only 8 months old. This car cost me over 21,000.
1) Anyone can now buy the same '07 new for about what you paid for the '06.
2) A dealer taking your car in trade is going to mark it up for resale. How much can he expect to get given #1?
Having some experience in this area myself, I can tell you that you can lose alot of money trading almost new cars.
