And when you go to sell it at some point, it will have the "former rental" history attached: I can't believe that will help the resale value.
Mileage is 102,000 black color--comes complete, leather, heated seats, etc--
I think I can buy it for about 4500 or less
two questions
1. Should I worry about corrosion with a 10 yr old car in Minnesota, can this be seen accurately in an inspection>
2. what is a good price for this car>? my guess is that the 5 speed cuts the potential market to about 3 people, me being one!
thanks
John
A good quality inspection will tell you all you need to know.
There are highly desirable vehicles - I wish I could find one like you're describing in reasonably good shape for $4500. The stick doesn't really hurt it's value IMHO.

We just put new tires on the front, new brakes in the rear and overhauled the transmission (belt broke). MIL did back up into my parked van and damage was under $1000 (paid by her ins. co.) to fix the bumper and get the dents out of the tailgate.
I'm probably going to have to pay someone to take this van off my hands so any value as a trade-in would be great!
Thanks!
Thanks, DQ

Thank you in advance for all the help.
Though I must say I am surprised by 14,500-15,500 on a car that has 4000 miles on it and is only 8 months old. This car cost me over 21,000.
1) Anyone can now buy the same '07 new for about what you paid for the '06.
2) A dealer taking your car in trade is going to mark it up for resale. How much can he expect to get given #1?
Having some experience in this area myself, I can tell you that you can lose alot of money trading almost new cars.

If so then buying the domestic for "invoice" and getting KBB for your trade is probably overpaying a little bit. There might be a few thousand dollars worth of rebates on the new car which would be enough to overallow from real wholesale value up to the artifical KBB trade value and still leave a substantial profit for the dealer.
