I saw similar pricing for 2006 models with 30k miles, but that was back in the Spring.
That is a year newer 6 months later, plus fewer miles.
This is a case where steep depreciation helps the buyer, since it's used.
Yeah I thought so too. Apparently so did someone else. It was gone by the time I next rode by the lot. Called and it has indeed been sold.
Oh well, the search continues.
They are very plentiful so it should not be hard to find a similar one.

Again appears to be former rental (The one I checked on carfax showed rental then repo?!?)
What is this vehicle going for these days?
There are many similar listed around here for $16k plus. Some as high as $18k. Just trying to figure out what a decent deal might be.
So this is a basic LX with just a roof rack?
$16k sounds way high to me.
Go to fitzmall.com and you can get a brand new Hyundai Entourage for under $20k (when they're in stock, I see they're out right now).
Send more, sure, but you'd get 100k miles on the powertrain warranty instead of just 40k left on that used one.
Wrong thread maybe, but a little backstory. Got an expensive mistake sitting in my driveway right now. 2004 purchase at a no-haggle dealer, so paid full sticker, but car has become too expensive to keep on the road. Happy, though dumb, with all other car purchases through the years both new and used. Did not know about Edmunds until recently, so researching more this time. I will know more this time around.
Have to weigh all factors including warranty, safety, reliability, and such. Resale not such a big deal as we tend to keep cars a long time, at least in terms of mileage.
Family of four, 2 children under five years old. Routinely have 1 or 2 additional kids tagging along. Nothing to tow and no serious off-roading before. (drove a CRV on the beach once years ago :P ) Travel between NC and MD 4 to 6 times a year to visit grandparents/in-laws. Go on 2 or 3 tent camping trips each year, typically with other families/large groups, so additional cargo space is important. Making do with one vehicle for all use.
Crossovers are hot and sexy right now, but wife doesn't really like them so much. She is much more the basic wagon type. Bells and whistles may be nice, but not really selling points for us. Comfort and convenience will get our attention, but will not make or break the decision. So, we have landed in basic minivan land.
$15k is right at the top of what we can do right now, so Chrysler/Dodge 2005 and newer for the stow and go and Hyundai/Kia 2006 and newer for the larger engine better MPG is what we are considering. The long powertrain coverage doesn't transfer in either case.
I was surprised to find the used Kia's listed locally at somewhat higher prices for a similarly outfitted Chrysler's. I don't mind making a workable deal where I get a decent buy and the dealer makes enough to keep the lights on and feed his family, but I don't want to go overboard with my "support."
I have also been dismayed with all the subjectivity in this process.
Honda has some sweet incentives on the Ody right now.
I've heard people getting EX models for as little as $23k, so an LX should be even cheaper, maybe $21k or so?
You long-term costs (maintenance, fuel, repairs, etc) may be lower by getting a bargain on a newer van like that.
We have owned 2 Hondas and love 'em. Just haven't given serious consideration to an Ody yet.
Just for reference, the price on an EX-L was over $29 grand in May, when I bought my Sienna. Today, it's under $26k! Yowsah!
The 2008 is a refresh, so once they're here, I seriously doubt you'll see prices like we're seeing now.
Timing is everything, as they say, and right now, the Ody is the bargain. Back in May the Sienna was the better deal (IMO).
That is about what I expected.
I'll echo the general thank you mentioned earlier as well. Good, helpful, objective info like this is not readily available to us regular joes out here (Edmunds excepted of course), so I really do appreciate you taking the time.

2006 Accord EX-L V6 sedan with 6-spd manual tranny.
Silver over black. no NAV. 23k miles.
2004 BMW 330Ci coupe.
Sport, Premium, automatic. 30k miles.
Metallic blue over black. ummm... I think that's it.
Would a sedan on the above make much of a difference? Or are they crossing the block at pretty similar prices?
Both in Jersey.
Thanks!!

2000 BMW 323iT (wagon).
88,000 miles.
AUtomatic (w/manumatic)
SIlver, gray leather, moonroof (looks to have the premium package).
Overall, looks clean (it is at a local small lot, I haven't been inside yet).
Assuming it is clean, brakes good, tires fine, no hits/runs/errors, what would be a fair price to put that in my driveway?
2020 Acura RDX tech SH-AWD, 2023 Maverick hybrid Lariat luxury package.
$21000 would kill that car.
Problem with those cars is that they book for the moon, but don't bring anywhere near it.
I was hoping that with a Benz, ultra low miles and a Mercedes service record would be worth an extra 10%.
Average asking price for 33 of these cars under 40,000 miles was about $26,000.
I kinda figured this car is a hard sell.
But remember, its a 10 yr old car that you are asking real money for.
Really can't get a loan for a car that old,not easily anyway.
That $21 grand would make a nice downpayment on a newer Benz.
Plus, that generation SL doesn't have the collector cachet that the previous W107 SL does.
1999/honda accord V6
2 dr coupe, auto transmission fwd
88,000 miles
black ext/black leather interior
options: power seat, leather interior
condition: inside super clean, exterior clean except scratches on body near rear tire. IN addition the car was shaking at ~ 45miles/hr so i took it in and the dealer reports needs to replace front axles and also idle sensor(?)... Newer tires (<1yr), brakes relatively new. Major maintenance done timely.
i posted previously regarding 2001 pathfinder versus 99 accord ... which to sell. I actually listed the path but with this new issue with the honda, i'm set on keeping the path and selling the accord. I'm leaning towards trading in or Carmax'ing it. What do you think i'd get for it? Thanks again fellas.
Older lower mileage Hondas sell quite easily regardless of whether they need work or not.
but i'll try again for kicks.
Thanks folks! (ie, vmax)
Just toying with an idea for xmas. Can ya help a fella out with 2 values?

It appears stickguy has a problem even typing the word automatic.
replace front axles??? what did they give for a $$ estimate? Is there a good indie mechanic nearby who does hondas to get a 2nd opinion?
How bad is the "shaking"? Could be a few different causes, I think.
Any idea what this is all about?
Oh, maybe a repo?
Which is stranger - that it would go to auction or that a Pontiac dealer would buy it at auction?
Given that it was four years ago, I wouldn't worry about it other than to make sure that fine tooth comb you'll use on it is extra sharp.
How did you get to your numbers? Reason I ask is Kelley Blue Book is showing between 15-17k for trade in as does the on-line NADA guide. A dealer I am speaking to quoted me the same 11-12 range. Don't want to leave money on the table - thx
Kelly and NADA use pixie dust and rainbows to come up with their numbers.
That said, it seems like a real nice car for the money. Maybe consider selling it privately?
Oh, and since you are in Jersey, it is 99% likely that the dealer you are speaking with is using Galves to value your trade. If I am serious about car shopping and know I am buying/selling very soon, I will usually get myself a 30-day subscription to Galves.com. Of course, this is probably not worth it to most people. I am usually looking at many different used cars, myself, so its handy to have.

Oh I look over used cars like you wouldn't believe. I check 'em then I have them checked and I do at least a 1/2 hour test drive. I don't deal with dealers who won't cooperate with me. NEVER had a lemon yet, but I've sure kicked a few deals. In return, I don't grind too much on the price. I buy what I like, I buy good merchandise, and I pay a price fair to all concerned. Works for me anyway.
I know nothing about the front suspension on a '99 honda, but: basically any, or all, front suspension parts could be the culprit. As could tires I suppose, or brakes if it did it while you're braking.
You need to get advice from the honda-knowledgeable who know about worn struts, etc, on a '99 honda........
&/or just put the thing on craigslist for what you can get........hey, it's still a low-mileage honda.......haven't you gotten your money's worth by now? Well worth it for someone else to spend $500 on it......
Factory Sun Roof
Flip-up rear hatch (not the cargo doors)
Bench second-row seat.
Interior is in pretty dam good shape especially for miles. Exterior has some scratches and small dings. Rust on the rear bumper like all the Z-71's eventually get. One owner car....I had it since new. Only saw Mobil 1.
Rear brakes were just installed, front are OK. Tires have 40k on them, but they are BFG All Terrain KO's and still look they have another 15k left on them.
I kept up on maint but have not done the 100k service yet.
Truck is in the Twin Cities.
Any thoughst on trade value?
the Accord strikes me as a $16-17000 car.
the Bimmer as a $20-21000 car.
A sedan would be a little cheaper.
Both are auction values.
On line guides are just that, guides.
Sometimes(most of the time actually) they are inaccurate.
