I have a 2013 Mercedes E350 Sport Sedan, 5000 miles on it, Diamond White with Natural Beige Leather, MSRP was $64850.00 back in September when I bought it. I ordered my 2014 and it is expected at the dealership on May 1st, give or take a week.
From what my dealership tells me, they have been heavily discounting these cars, $7000 is not unheard of. But, he also told me that when the new car comes in, he won't have any 2013's left in stock, in fact, he only has 12 now and only 5 more coming in from Germany in the next few weeks. The rest will be 2014's.
He thinks the car will be worth about $51,000. He always puts my traded cars on his lot because they never have dings, dents or scratches - super clean if you know what I mean, almost a demo.
Since Manheim has not had many go through the auctions, what do you think - about 5 or 6 weeks away from trading. The new once will be $65000+ a few bucks.
Would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks. My guess is that clean wholesale is about 48-49K, and since my cars are a step above new, he gives me a few thousand more.
As far as knowing more than you, it all depends on the topic and the question. With the 2013's quickly evaporating, that gives my trade a possible reprieve in May. Only time will tell.
Again, thanks for your feedback.

My question is was this an aberration? Specific to the S class? Or is there a huge mark up on all Mercedes Benz cars?
With that in mind, what would a 2010 ML 350 with AWD, NAV and low miles in Pittsburgh, PA go for from an independent dealer?

Looks like quite a few ML350s in PA have been in "above average" condition and commanding a bit of a premium. Looking at average condition examples, I see $27500 for a black one with 27k miles, $27250 for another black with 30k, $30k for a black with 30k ... probably an option difference there. Then there is another larger group with 32k-34k miles for right around $30k.
So I'd say $30k is the sweet spot. By the time a dealer gets it home, cleans it up, puts new rubber on it, it hits the lot with a $35k asking price and $32-33k should put it in your driveway.

He basically said the same thing about auction prices of the S class. He couldn't figure out why they were retaining their value so much better today than a few years ago.
For one in your condition, $24k trade-in is just about right.

It's the typical "old man's" truck we have in this part of the world, which is to say it was used as transportation only, and maybe carried the lawnmower, but no hard work. Its in very good shape for being 16 years old, and never having seen a garage.
Location is Brunswick, Georgia, on the coast, off I-95 between Savannah and Jacksonville. Very rural, which means trucks sell here. Always.
I know the value is whatever I can get somebody to pay, but I'm thinking $2500-$3000.

Dealer offered me $20k as trade in. Fair???
Seems a little low to me but thought I would ask.
I'm trying to look it up, but I don't seem to have an "LT3" option. Looking at LTZs, I could say that my gut was right and $20k is strong. He's definitely giving you credit for the low miles. They are going for around $18k with 80-90k miles, which would put trade at $17k. I'd add about $1500 for your low miles. So even if real nice, I wouldn't have expected more than $19k. Must be a real nice rig.

It is an LT3 which is basically an LTZ. It's actually more loaded than most LTZ's.
Thank you for your info. Very much appreciated. Looks like I'm coming out a little ahead of average. I'm not complaining. Going to get a '13 Acadia Denali and a few thousand bucks in my pocket out the door.

Retail? Well, probably not worth it, IMHO. You'd have to sell for $25k to entice anyone to deal with you rather than a dealer, and considering Nevada offers a tax credit on trades, you are talking about an effective trade value of $24,610-$24,840 (tax varies throughout nevada apparently). So I'd just trade it, personally.

Due to a change in family circumstance my primary driver became a "second" car and as a result, I'll have used just about half of the allotted 36k mileage.when the term comes to an end later this month.
Is there substantial value to this mileage, as simple as multiplying this 18k remainder times what the overage would have cost (15 or 20 cents a mile)? This comes out to be a couple of grand which when added to the residual seems way high.
Does anyone have any experience with how dealers might credit this towards the new lease... is appraisal first by an entity like Carmax the way to go?
Our intent is to re-lease the same, current model car (now becoming our primary driver) though not necessarily through the previous dealer.
Any thoughts most appreciated

Going back to my leasing dealer this weekend to see what their number will be and then I'll hit another dealer or two in Jersey just to sell. Turns out there isn't a Carmax in the area but something similar called Carsense so I'll give them a shot at buying too.
Thanks again!
Yours does have some needs, but lower miles... so I would guess that it is about equivalent. So figure $4k-$4500 trade.
Sounds like a great candidate for private party. $6995 asking and $6k taking.

Not to be greedy, but do you mind pulling numbers on the below two cars? Since I'm looking to get a CPO, I figure auction numbers would at least help in getting a beginning negotiation point.

Again, much thanks if you are able to pull for me.
Here on the mainland, it would be roundabout $21,500 on the G25 and about $26,500 on the G37.
I would imagine they are asking somewhere around $27k and $32k, respectively. If you could get them down to $2k less than that, that would probably be a good deal.
Again, your HI market may vary (greatly).

The difficult thing with the negotiation is that they're both CPOs that they were used as loaners - the G37 was a loaner on a lease.
Since they were dealer cars, we could assume that they got the cars under invoice and that the leased car had a cap under invoice and a 70% residual. I'm thinking $25k on the G25 and $28-28.5k on the G37.
Thanks again!
