...... Yep, I agree with Bill, It will do all of $5,500 and then some, especially if it has the "big block"..

Bill, Terry my friend is looking at a Quest minivan GXE with TV/VCR option . It is beige color with 47,000 miles on it in Madison, Wisconsin. Dealer is asking for $14995.
What should be the strategy for my friend. Start with $12000 and go up-to $13500. Please comment on it.
    Thanks in Advance

....... I will assume it's -- "Cleaner than the board of health". Plus it has no miles, if it's a 4dr and all there ... it could do an easy $4,500 at the block --- So what's it worth on the retail side.. it's probably sittin' on a lot somewhere for $5,950.

    ***** Grab that cash *****

$6,290 is A L L the money on the planet for an ES, let alone a DE ..!

Good job... I hope all works well..!

    Terry.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
    ..... Well let's see here. It's a 99 with 47klicks and its a GXE ......

The dealer might ... and the word here being might, have $12,500 in it for a favor for his next door neighbor.

$13,500 would be all the money for a Quest, especially a GXE.

    Good luck ...

I have a 2000 Chevy S-10 Ext. cab w/ 3rd door, V6, auto, a/c, tilt, cruise, CD, bucket seats w/ center console, bedliner. I bought it in Sept. 1999 and it only has 23500 miles. It's in excellent condition. What would be a reasonable value? Thanks for any info.

Sister's looking for a C70 LT. Saw this:

    >2000 VOLVO C70, conv., 10k mi., white/tan, auto,
    >CD loaded, repo-Florida, rebuildable title, no
    >damage, drive home, $24,999, call Alpine Motors,
    >Delray, 561-272-4744 or visit
    >www.alpinemotorsflorida.com.

She's not into white and wants a handshaker, but just as an excercise I'm thinking "Danger Will Robinson".

    What think you?

I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota Sport, very base vehicle, but is does have the Magnum V6, Tilt, AM/FM Cass.,Cruise and Auto, NO A/C! The truck has 73,000 on it and it great shape paint/body wise. I am thinking if trading it in on a used pickup with an extended cab and A/C, what can I expect to get for it?

In the near future I am going to buy a brand new 2002 Chevy Tahoe, would I be better off trading the truck in on this instead?

    ..... Your welcome, drive safely..

    Terry.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
...... This will kinda depend on where your from.

Actually, it sounds like a nice truck, the miles aren't bad, it's an auto and V6.

-If- .. it's nice and clean, new sneakers, shows like a 98 and it needs -0- then you are lookin' at a $2,5/$3,000 figure.

Now is the time to trade this puppy .,. it's winter..! Actually, I would retail out of this. Everyone on the planet is lookin' for a nice *clean* little pick-up .... try $4900.

Then let someone slap Ya like a "junk yard dog" and give you $4,1/$4,500, and then go get that "fat daddy Tahoe".

    Good luck...

    Terry.

"Danger, Will Robinson!" is correct. There are other C70s out there; no reason to get one with a rebuilt title.
  • rroyce10rroyce10 Member Posts: 9,332
..... What does the title actually say ... rebuilt..?

That's a perfect FL vehicle, right color, right miles and I will bet it looks sharp, actually it's a great any place vehicle.

If the title is "straight up" -- it's a $21,000+ vehicle in the dark at the block .. and the retail "asking" is ok.

Drop a post on this title thing .... it can make a $5/$7,000++ difference.. this could be more of a -- Dr. Smith thing.. l..o..l...

Never mind, I found them ... it's Fazio's (Delray, FL) old place from Detroit. I didn't find that particular vehicle -- But it does change the whole value by a ton .... I would need a whole lot more info --
I will guess on this one .. it's worth maybe in the $13's if it's been crushed.

Yep, stay away Will Robinson -- DANGER.

I have a 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix with less than 80k miles (the odometer stopped about 2 years ago at 63k). There is a leak in a line connected to the power steering pump, my mechanic said it would cost a little over $100 to fix. The a/c also doesn't appear to work and the front passenger door is very difficult to open, I haven't gotten those checked. There is also a small broken piece of the bumper (about an inch and a half long). Other than that the car is in very good condition. I also have all the records for the car. Thank in advance.
  • soberssobers Member Posts: 496
It an 11 year odl Pontiac! Odometer is not correct which leads it to Tru mileage not known. There are quite a few problems & AC also doesn't work. Do not be surprised if you are offered $500-700 by a import dealer !! Of course Terry/Bill are the experts & they should be able to help you!

I was curious as to what I should expect as a fair trade in for a 1996 Infiniti I30 Touring with all of the options and 90,000 miles. Everything works and it is beautifully maintained. It is a Champagne color and has been in Florida for all of its life. It also has a spoiler.

Just got back from our bimonthly dealer only auction. Sold a '96 Dodge Caravan with **207K** miles on it. It was dark cherry, gray cloth, SE, had a dent in the RF fender. Ran very well. Rugs were real dirty, reasonable Michelins on it. Anyone care to guess what the bidding stopped at?

close. Keep trying. In all fairness, the van looked like it should have had about 70K on it. Also had the 3.3 V6

01 Civic EXA 4-door? Super nice? Cant reasonably tell from new?

$13,500++++ Across the block. Right now, if one sailed past 14K it wouldnt surprise me.

    Bill
  • im_brentwoodim_brentwood Member Posts: 4,883
If its nice.. etc.. you know the drill :)

$3,500 is whgere I hit it, but it could do $4K if its real nice.

So.. Spring cometh soon.. so try $6,500/BO in the paper. Get $5,500? Grab cash and run!

    Bill
  • im_brentwoodim_brentwood Member Posts: 4,883
    OK.

2-door? 4-Door? Auto? Stick? The room I'm sending you all to is gettin crowded! :)

  • im_brentwoodim_brentwood Member Posts: 4,883
If it "Shines like a diamond" No paintwork, go9od color, has leather, auto, roof.. etc...

And this thing is NICE and isnt liek Black/Black in Miami...

I am thinking EVERY bit of $10K and then some.

Shop this one around a bit... look for independent lots who sell cars like that. Even call your local Acura dealers, see if they want it.

I'm not saying it would do it as a trade, but to the right buyer.. if it did $11-12K across the block I wouldnt be shocked at all (Unless I paid that for it.. lol)

    So do yer homework! :)

    Bill
  • im_brentwoodim_brentwood Member Posts: 4,883
    Shees... Man I am sorry.

$1,900/bo in the paper for this one.

Its a $500 wholesale piece. I knwo ya like it and took care of it.. but.. 12yr old Pontiac, Bad AC, mech problems.. cosmetic problems..

    Know whuttuh mean?

    Bill
  • im_brentwoodim_brentwood Member Posts: 4,883
    Hmm..

Camry Behind Door #1: (The 98) If its nice.. $8,500-9K (Easily 10-10,500 if it was an LE.. reconsider next time you buy new.. so you know, not tryin to be cute :)

Camry Behind Door #2: Did you say 5-speed? :( Umm.. $9,000... $9,500.. somwhere in there, but I think its a $9K car myself.

    Bill
  • im_brentwoodim_brentwood Member Posts: 4,883
Relax... we not paid to do this.. And we been at the auctions... down boy!

OK.. $7,400? Umm.. With 70K on it and real nice maybe., Pushing 90K? Tapping noise? (Boy does that scare me) I think typically $6,000-6,500 but that noise has me a tad scared...

    Bill
  • mnrubinsmnrubins Member Posts: 3
Agree on the LE part...the lack of power locks is the only reason we'll probably part with that one instead of the 99.

Are those trade values or private sale?

    Thanks
  • im_brentwoodim_brentwood Member Posts: 4,883
    Hmm.

The miles are high, but then its 11yrs old.. Soo..

I think it could do closer to $2K if its like new, but I think reality is $1,500.

$2,950 in the paper. Take $2,500 but really no less I think.

    Bill
  • crankcrank Member Posts: 6
What do you think I could reasonably get for a 97 Civic LX 4-door, 5 speed, Dark Green? 83,000 miles, perfect interior, slightly more than average exterior scratches (no actual dents however)
