The trunk was damaged pretty badly, although neither the axle, muffler or rear doors were damaged. All of the replacement parts were Nissan parts and not after-market.
Looking to sell or trade a '90 Toyota 4R V6 4WD with AC and factory stock with about 78K miles later this spring. Should I trade to a non-Toyota dealer, would any dealer want a 12 year old truck or should I sell on my own, it has good curb appeal and little wear due to being a second car. Relocated to Texas and not sure if they offer tax credit on trade-in value, anyone know? What's good price?
I have a 97 Toyota Avalon XLS with 76K miles. All maintenance is current, car has all options - full power (windows locks seats), leather, moonroof, traction control, ABS, CD changer, wood trim, gold exterior trim, pearl white color, light tinted windows. I'm starting to shop for a small truck, and was offered $7500 on trade. Seems a bit low. I also have the Toyota extended warranty through 7/03 or 100K miles which is assignable for $50. Does this add significant value? If I trade the car I can cash in the balance of the warranty for about $300. By the way, I live in the Chicago area. Thanks.
You will almost always make more if you sell the car privately. Also, the extended warranty should add some value to the car if you sell it, but not if you trade it to a dealer. Add about $200 or so for the warranty I would say.
It is almost always unwise to buy your lease out after the term. The residual value also knwo as guranteed future value is usually inflated to make it more attractive to lease.
90,000 miles, GS sedan, light green, very good condition, Edmunds TMV is $4800 for a private party sale. What would it bring at auction, and what is a fair price for the buyer (me) and the seller (co-worker). Maryland car.
I have a 98 Acura CL with 63K miles and an extended warranty to 100k.It is worth $10000 now,In a year if I only put 6K miles on it how much is it going to be worth? I would like to sell it to my son then for ACV or trade in value.
I have a 2001 Honda CRV EX AWD auto tranny with 16,000 miles. It is black and in excellent shape with all service records. What would a dealer look for trade-in value and what could I ask for it private party?
I think I may have found a car. I'm leaving in about 30 minutes to go to Cincy and check it out. It's a '99 black/black LS400, nakamichi, HIDs, cd changer, heated seats, moonroof, 36k miles. It's also certified. It's a trade-in, not an auction purchase. Asking price was $38,836. I talked to the internet manager, and he said he could do around $35k, which Bill said is all the money on this one. It's a bit more than I wanted to spend, but this sounds like it could be the one. They are offering 4.9% on their certified cars, so that helps. I'll let you know.
I live in Missouri (hot humid summers, cold, sonetimes harsh winters).
Would the $17's be what a dealer would give me on trade or what I should expect from a private party.
I'm batting around the idea of getting an older 4X4 pickup and using the money from the CRV for some investments, savings, etc. I only owe about $2,000 on the CRV.
2001 Toyota Highlander Limited vehicle is loaded including moonroof and vehicle skid control. 8500 miles Color is vintage gold with ivory leather interior. Original sticker was $34700. Wondering about trade in value and or private sale value?Any ideas? Thanks much!
Ready to turn in a leased '99 Audi, A4, 1.8T, 5-speed, Bose, sunroof, heated seats, leatherette, santorin blue, 24K miles, great condition. Audi Financial says they'll credit us the amount over residual that they get when it's auctioned, which could offset the 3 remaining payments due. Somehow, I doubt the auction price could be higher than the residual, even with this low mileage. What's your best guess what this figure might be? Thanks for your help. BTW, we're in SE PA if that makes a difference.
Man, if you are telling me that I can get mid 16s for trade-in, something is amiss... All the dealers out here in the San Francisco Bay area are trying to quote me 14000... 15000 was the highest anyone offered. I don't know how to get around this problem... If I got 16000 even, I would be ecstatic... Anything I can do?
..... It was very, very nice .. and then some. I love that place. Your on a 900 acre resort, it kinda boring -- just beautiful beaches, Golf courses, para sailing, offshore fishing, service up the ying yang and that beautiful Volcano in the background.
...... I see your from Missouri, I don't know why I was thinkin' Alabama.
Have you been to Branson ...? very cool place.
Yep, the high 17's is a wholesale price, maybe even $18 and some change depending on the dealer.
If you retail it in the paper, give it a big Hoorah Ad (5 liner) make it look like a diamond, have the service records on the dash. A good asking price would be $19,950 and let someone come over and insult you with a $19/$19,400 figure -- cry and stamp your feet, then grab the $$ and go buy the next vehicle.

Thanks again,

Have a 97 blue accord lx. 56k miles. sound mechanical. some body scratches on doors and hood.

Would appreciate an estimate for trade and private sale.
Thanks!!

Hope Terry is having fun down south.
Gheeeeeez .... my shoulder hurts from losing all those golf balls, oh well.
Hi Bill .... anything new ...? ..l...o...l.
Q... did you find a vehicle yet ...?
Sobers, did we find you a job yet..?
SOBERS AUTO EMPORIUM
Terry..... :-)
Do you live close to Huntsville ..?
My boy Bill Heard has a little store there.
Well anyway, you can be my first victim
Ok.. it's a 01 ..16 klicks, EX, AWD and based on what your telling us it's like new .. right ..?
The miles are a little stiff, not much though, and now is a good time to drop a black vehicle in Bama, come June, they get ugly.
The vehicle will do the mid to high $17's if it's a "baby doll".
Whatcha lookin' to buy ...?
Terry.
Hey ..! --- No ticky.. No washy ...!
Terry.
These are great vehicles, will run forever and no brain damage.
The miles are good and almost the right color.. if it's nice and clean, it will do the high 4's..maybe $5, if it's "jam up" ..
Terry.
I will check in later... ....
Terry.

Bill
I am thinking $13,300ish... give or takje a few hundred...
Bill
Bill
If it had 30Kish miles.. I'm thinking $22,500 isnt that bad..$23Kish is what it could do at auction now.
Bill
If its not a goofy color.. and its clean...
I think this is a $19,500 car.
Bill
What do they want for it?
Bill
I think we have a $10Kish car here. (99 Maxima GXE with 39K, right?)
Bill
On the Dodge in the Klondike: Assuming it hasnt bumped into too many icebergs or Polar Bears, Moose or Glaciers...
$21K all day long. I bet $22K up there.
Bill
Put it in the paper for $6,950.
If it helps, we just sold a SUPER NICE 88 2-door 4-runner SR5 V6 with 178K for $4,350.
And we had people lined up at that price.
Bill
May be a tad light, but I think $8K would be all the $$ in Chicago. It cou8ld do a litle more here in FL or CA tho.
$10,900/bo in the paper, grab the first $9,800.
Cash in the warranty!
Bill
$7,500ish.. maybe a little less depending on how bad the scratches are.
$9,950 in the paper, Grab $9,000
Bill
Bill
IF its nice.
So.. If it were yours, I'd say to shoot to get $4,500ish for it so $4,800 sounds reasonable.
Whats fair between the two.. thats for you and your friend to decide! But I'd tell ya to not take less than $4K if it had your name on the title.
Bill
what Terry said that is..
Bill
The 4WD Bit helps.
I think it ought to do $26,000 across the block, maybe then some.
So ask $29,500 for it and grab $28,500.
Bill
I have been SWAMPED this week... and well, all of a sudden we gots busy.
How was Tropical Paradise?
Bill
Umm....handshaker?
So you do not have to look back, here is the info again.
Dark green 1196 Acura Integra, 64,000 miles.
needs brakes and tires. interior descent, exterior excellent.
Thanks again for the help.
Evan
However, if it was a 1196, I imagine I could get a lot of money for it. I am guessing they did not make many of them that year.
Evan
Yep, it was rough.
Terry.
