in my opinion, it still maintained its clean lines. The interior is something to be admired about. It clearly speaks of honda's attention to detail and quality.
I just hope that interior noise is a thing of the past.

here got better prices than mine.
I am considering to install keyless entry myself.
Is it easy to do? any advice?
Also, one thing that's disapponting about the interior is the automatic shifter. Honda kept that cheap looking tall shifter. What's worse, they put a real nice automatic shifter in the Civics for 2003, ones that have a little silver trim on them and have a nicer shape (they may have it in 2002, but I don't think so).
Oh well, the interior is still a 10.
In some of the other pictures I seen, the shifter looks different than the one in the current car, in a more substantial kind of way. It's height is propably related to the height of the arm rest such that you can rest your elbow on the arm rest and hand on the gear shift. Its the same as in our '01 EX 5spd. and very comfortable.
I think Honda didn't mess with the ergonomics of the interior - everything seems to be in the same place, except the materials have increased in quality, and there are only minor differences.
I think the new shifter is a big improvement over the outgoing model, which was shaped very well for grasping, but it did look kind of cheap.
Seriously though, the new Accord looks really good in these photos. Even the rear end (which is still the weakest point of the exterior stying IMHO) looks better to me. Especially in the darker colors (the burgundy and the dark green) and with the rear spoiler added (surprisingly enough). Front and side views are very attractive and the interior looks top notch. I can't wait to see one in person. I just may "defect" to Honda when I buy my next car (whenever that may be).
Many thanks to the poster who generously supplied the link.
So does anyone know where Honda has stuck the flashing LED for the security system? From one of the pics, it appears it is no longer located on top of the driver door sill.
yes, the 2002 accord is a lame-duck model, but it is still the best selling car in america 2 years running, and still has more demand than alot of other models.
Also, on the door locks, it would be nice if they'd use flush fitting knobs. The current stem design always pokes me in the arm when resting on the door with the window open. If you hook your arm around it, its livable...
The car's looks have been growing on me since I saw the September MT. One thing I noticed in the Holtz pictures is the back end seems to have Odessey-like angles where the fender wraps around to the back of the car and then an almost flat surface through the majority of the tail lights and license area. Nice.
warning and info lights)
For latest MPV's security system, it is in the dash. Same may be the case for Honda.

Anyone else notice that the door handles have changed on the sedan and not the coupe? What advantage could the redesign have? I prefer the flush handles on the coupe.
There's an interior shot on one of the web sites with the pics, I forget if it was vtec or wieck, where you can see that the new cupholders seem to have those rubber ribbings on the inside to securely hold your drinks, and they also seem deeper than the current ones.
I remember reading on the Pilot board how people were able to purchase one (over MSRP, of course) at least 2 weeks prior to the official release date.
Not a joke or scam, just one crazy low volume dealer in Oklahoma.

the good it does is the fact that there are lots of people who believe that there is no risk to ordering in advance...the prices are non-negotiable to begin with, and they know this up front, so lack of pricing is a non-issue. these are mostly people who have had honda products repeatedly over the years, and trust honda to please them again.
They don't look bad though.
And I don't think the cupholders had covers.
Eight cupholders! Is that ridiculous or what?
Discounts ????
Why?
Doorhandles:
Talon95, Accord has had those doorhandles in the JDM version. You can see it here.
Just hope they're NOT like Volvo: 0% financing for 24 months! That's really a big help on a $30K car, even with a down payment...
Oh well.........
PS Guess this is technically off topic since it's a Honda discussion....lol

IMO, Hyundai Sonata V6 performs better at higher elevations.
the thing im expecting to see is the 4-cyl models holding msrp for 3-5 months...the v6 will be much longer...maybe even till the end of the '03 model run. im assuming also, once the 6-speed coupe comes out, they will never be discounted, as the allocation for the largest dealers will only be about 3-4 per month.
dont underestimate the savvy marketing of honda...they will keep the demand high far longer than any of us anticipate, IMO. the odyssey is competing with the chrysler in volume, and still holding full pop.
ahossa...the economy isnt that good?!?! honda is having a record volume year, as well as the rest of the auto industry. and i, personally, have never made so much money in my life...i think you are listening to the liberal media a little too much...lol.
I bought the Accord because of its reputation for quality, reliability, and durability, and I am now very concerned that my Accord may not have been manufactured with the same quality and care as other Accords. Any other owners out there with Mexican made Accords? Has anyone noticed or experienced a higher level of problems with Mexican made Accords?
