I have been looking online, emailed many dealers in the Midwest, and searching autotrader.com and cars.com --for months.
As well as checking this forum regularly, the input from many has been very helpful --thanks to all.
Finding this particular color combo in a manual, with ANY engine (4 or 6) has been nearly impossible, many dealers offered to order , but prices were not as good as on the lot inventory.. I could wait ,so did ---but finally used advanced search techniques thru the websites above to find my car at Schlossman's Honda City in Milwaukee. Quite a drive ,,but email and phone conversations were very straight-forward , with no suprises at all.
Car was offered at $19640.00 ( including destination) , included a trunk tray, haggled for mud-guards , but did not work out.
At business office got the pitch for extended warranty , but did not succumb. May consider later , but doubt it.
Extras were WI taxes, license plate fees, $125 service fee, with total at almost exactly $21,000.
(WI taxes about 1100.00 ) that's the final $$
I had seen closeout 08's about 18800 last fall for the same car ,but in color combos I would not consider,,though I live in the north I've lived with Black leather seats, and just too hot for me ,,the blue exterior is just great for me.
Many WI dealers very competitive with V6 models,,but never had my colors
Happy with 190 Hp and my fourth new Honda product. BTW got 31 mpg on the freeway home ( Not bad for the new blue beauty)
Good luck forum friends ,, good deals are out there,,and patience paid off for me to get exactly what I was after..
Edmunds-2009 EX-L w/NAV 26,593 (invoice w/ dest)- $1,000 incentive = $25,593.
I got a 2008 EX-L w/NAV (BLACK ON BLACK) = $24,000
I'm sure I could have done something, but I didn't move. The price got me in the door and I signed. I got the 3.9% and they gave me $1,500 for my beat up 2000 Accord.
This went down near the NYC area.
The dealer was cool and the business manager didn't try to sell me on anything except for Honda Care (which I'm not interested in).
Honestly, my wife and I were planning on getting a 2007 MDX w/ Tech (12,600) miles for around 35. In the end, I saved a lot of money.
share us with your purchase experience with break down details. $22470+TTL was the lowest I have seen on this forum.
Thank you for your time
The OTD price was $20,550. Anybody in SoCal do any better than that for a base LX?
Window Tint
Wheel Locks
Cargo Tray
Honda Splash Guards
Color Keyed Molding Package
$23,070+TTL = $24,300 OTD
I think I made a good deal. Your thoughts??
Was quoted $22,999 with a dealer fee of $400 in addition to tax, and tag.
Your deal is $400 better, if you don't have to pay the fee.
H91638 114059 2009 HONDA ACCORD 09 4D EXL 5MT POLISHED METAL / GRAY MSRP:$26,275.00 IN-STOCK
For this vehicle , your special Internet e-price is $21,766.00*
The price includes destination, there are no dealer fees but it does not include TTL. It is about $2200 less than invoice and seems reasonable to me. I think I'm going to buy it unless anyone posts that they think I can do better.
eprice"$24837 + TTL
So he gave you all of his holdback and is now digging into his own pocket for $587 to sell you that car, unless he is adding a Dealer fee at that amount.
Something doesn't make sense there. Is Honda giving more that $1000 cashback to dealers on 2009 Accords??
I just purchased last week Accord LX sedan Auto for $19,900 with FL tax 6%, $52 doc fee, $100 for Tag etc. I think in CA it's good deal.
Now problem is that you are in dirty business, as in price of the car is not set in stone, but variable, and buyers have to haggle. So this site clearly helps us to learn what is true price of the car. This site would not exist if you salesmen and managers were not so greedy and trying to get as much as you can from each buyer. Actually I'd love if everybody would pay the same price, but then you wouldn't profit as much.
So as a consequence, allow us to not have the desire to share our money with the dealership. Only crooks are scarred of information being available to buyer.
Most buyers will agree - we want to pay manufacturer, not you.
Most Car Dealerships have given up trying to be profitiable in the new car departments. And it will only get worse, not better. It has to do with supply and demand.
The only time I was ever able to sell a car at full MSRP was when I sold a Mercedes CLK which had a special turquoise color . . it was the only one in the entire southeast, so we could charge top dollar for it.
Everything else went at invoice or close to it. There are about 12 Honda dealerships all selling the exact car and color.
If you are a good salesman, you need to get out of the new car business . . either start selling used cars, or some other product entirely.
Some of the discounts described here makes me think that may have changed recently. Does anyone know for sure?
Something wrong? too good to believe?
09 Accord LX/AT Sedan:
$15,999 if coupon used + $298 doc fee, + $111 new plates /registration + $799.95 MA Sales Tax = $17,207.95 OTD. Please remember that the $200 coupon expires in 10 days!
Please make sure you see that this vehicle comes with our lifetime powertrain warranty, as well as the promotional financing
Yell at your boss , not at us.
The best deal I got from a Boston Dealer for an LX auto was 17,900
Banzai!!!
Well, it is tough time and you have to speak up... we understand that. But, you are forgetting some fundamental of this world. Let me remind you all..
We are living in USA . Land of Free . And land of opportunity
The golden rule of freedom and capitalism is “Survival of the fittest”. Think of our great great grand father came to this land (500 years ago) and with freedom, capitalism, they survived and build this nation to # 1 in the world.
We (Consumer) people have internet and technology (i.e. consumers are getting more “Fittest”) and getting more educated about how to save penny. And at the same time few businesses are getting smarter and keep going. New car businesses need to survive by giving us some innovative offers and lure consumer into dealership. I think all new car dealers and salespersons are smarter than average consumer.
We have seen groceries store compete for $2.99 milk and compete for their survivor We have seen so many companies rose high and become top business because of their smart business. (i.e. Microsoft, Wall-Mart) and so many companies got doomed, because their poor management and bad luck (i.e Circuit city, Lehman Brothers etc).
Best Buy survived because Circuit City got doomed. Cell phone companies have same problem So don’t compare those businesses with Auto business. No body is putting a gun on car salesperson and demanding low prices. If you can’t afford, and can’t sell any car close the business. Well that’s it in nutshell “Survival of fittest”
God bless the USA.
Is it good deal-?
And I wonder usually how much this car w/ Navigation?
I should've bargained more if I knew there was a $1000 manufacturer rebate to the dealer
Please go back to where you came from and take your negative energy with ya. And please folks, don't engage this troll anymore. His 15 minutes are up!
Later. Oh yeah, G-d bless the USA which gave you the right to express your views...now go away like a good little boy!

You are working in the wrong industry. And wrong website indeed. You should be on Monster.com, looking for Grocery Store Clerk jobs; if you don't want to negotiate.
Good luck. (Obviously, God doesn't take care of you!)
I got some other two quotes 17499 and 17850.
Thanks,
Unfortunately, with internet, we don't need a car salesman.anymore, nor sales manager. We just send a few emails to get price quote, then sign the purchase contract. We don't need any service from you or your manager.
So, feel lucky if you still have a job!
This forum has been very helpful to me in understanding what to expect and how to negotiate while buying a car. I have been shopping around for an Accord LX-P 4 cyl AT for the past few weeks, but couldn't get a deal price of around $20,500 OTD. Am I looking for an aggressive price number?. It will be very helpful if anyone can post their buying experience, dealer name, price (including OTD) that was bought in North/Central NJ recently. Thanks again & Happy shopping everyone.
Is it $1000, $1500, or ???
Does anyone know? I am guessing that it is $1500 till April 30, but have not seen anything here.
