I don't know if someone has posted this before, but it's deadly accurate:

My wife sends out a traditional card while I always send an automotive themed card. This is my 2022 card:

I would tell my wife that if she won't tell me in advance, I am having her stuffed and put out in the shed.I told my wife I wanted to be cremated. She said “good idea, let’s get started on that”.🙄

@qbrozen - little late to the responses, but congrats on getting the Gloria sorted out. Sounds like a lot of lessons learned and now you can hit the ground running on the next sale.
@nyccarguy - that's tragic about your mechanic. Very sad regardless of the circumstances.
I had a nice surprise yesterday. You may recall that the faulty keyless access on my driver's door of the wagon was found to be caused by a GPS tracker that had been installed by the selling broker. I contacted them and they put me in touch with the company who installs the trackers for them. A rep from that company asked to see my car to verify what the MB service dept said. I assumed they would just explain away their liability, but after checking out some of the wiring, he agreed it made sense that his tech hadn't installed the tracker correctly and said they'd be cutting a check for the repair!

We had a 2008 Aura XR bought new for the wife. We only brought it up to 65,XXX miles but overall was a great car. GM did step up after the warranty was up and replaced the transmission wave plate which was a weak point in the 6 speed transmission. I got an extended warranty letter a year or 2 before offering a replacement transmission up to 8 years after purchase. It was done by our local Chevy dealer because by that time Saturn was gone. That was the Aura, on the GM Epsilon platform which also begat the Opel Vectra and Saab 9-3. Not a bad driving car with a V6.The Aura XR looked great at the time, but probably would have been a nightmare to own once the warranty was up (one of the first applications of the GM 3.6 liter V6 plus the early six speed automatics had widespread issues, if memory serves).
The 3.5 liter overhead valve V6 had variable valve timing, and drove pretty well in a few rentals I had. Of course, the car I ended up buying with that powertrain, a G6, was plagued with transmission issues and, consequently, never drove quite as good as the others I had driven.
The XR was fully loaded and had the 3.6 V-6 which had I think 258 HP and was plenty quick. The sticker was $30K and we paid around $24 as that was when GM was in the process of getting rid of Pontiac and Saturn.
I sold it to a friend for his daughter and she got good use from it for few years and traded for a Honda Civic.
I always got compliments on the Moroccan Brown leather interior which was a $100 option

Happy Thanksgiving from South Florida! Enjoy all the turkey and for those on the roads today, please be extra careful, leave a bit earlier if necessary and party with due moderation!
God bless this great country of ours!!

received deposit on the Nissan and notification that she booked a shipper on shiply. Awaiting wire transfer today/tomorrow for the balance.
All things taken into account, it is about $1200 less in my pocket than the C&B high bid. Still a good profit for my test subject car.

You guys are wearing out the scroll wheel on my mouse. When you quote a post with 17 pictures, you don't have to include all 17 of the pictures. Just one would be sufficient, I really don't need to see all 17 of the pictures for a second time, or a third time, or ...

Many of the take-out containers I've seen lately are marked "dishwasher safe," I wonder whether that makes them exempt from some of the bans, since they're theoretically no longer "single use."A while back Enterprise gave us plastic water containers as a sign of appreciation. I put it in the dishwasher and it melted into something that looked like the inside of a lava lamp.
I guess that was a single use plastic.
This year was much better. For appreciation day they put out a huge spread of donuts, cupcakes and candies that few of the diabetic old men could eat.
