Nissans are wrought with torque steer and not enough suspension travel.
Toyotas are boring.
On Toyota their styling has just gotten worse with the current generation of cars with the exception of the Celica and RAV4. The new 4 Runner I don't like that. The 97-02 4 Runner was the best looking SUv exterior wise ever. The 00+ Avalon is very bland. The 98-99 Avalon was a beautiful looking car. The Camry has grown too much and has lost its sleekness. The 03 Corolla is not styled right. The 04 Solara is overstyled in my opinion. I saw one on the road and I think it looks too gimmicky. I'm 23 years old and I don't like gimmicky looking cars. I like classy ala 1999-2000 Mazda Millenia.
On Acura styling Acura maybe bland but the styling just lasts forever. I felt like the on the current generation TL between the 01 model year and 02 model year TL Honda made some great changes to make the TL a sporty looking sedan with the bigger grille, bigger headlights, and cleaned up the tailights a bit.
Nissan/Infiniti: Torque Steer
Toyota: BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honda products are less expensive than the Nissan/Infiniti/Toyota competition.
As for Toyota yeah the styling isn't there I don't know if it will ever will be. Toyota is capable of styling good products: 02+ IS 300, Supra, 00-02 Celica, 01+ RAV4, late 80's Corolla Sport, the 99-03 RX 300. Toyota plays it safe with the Camry. The only thing is Toyota is bland how come the 92 Camry looks so good and its going into its 12th birthday? I guess its one of those where the styling has held up extremely well. Can't say the same for some other Toyota products that have come out over the years.
If you add options needed for an Altima to have all the features of an Accord EXV6, it actually costs more and not just a few dollars more. A fully loaded 2003 Altima 3.5 SE can surpass the price of a 2003 TL. You can equip an Altima to cost less than an Accord if you are willing to give up a lot of things that are standard on the Accord.
Simplifying the content makes it easier to manufacture them. The more complicated the assembly line, the more it costs to assemble the car.
Toyota dealers can trade with other dealers to. All dealers have access to other dealers inventory.
Does anyone know if the 2003 model still have transmission problems?
Somebody told me they fixed the problem on cars made after June 2002. Does any body know if that is true?
Has anyone with a 2003 TL had transmission problems?
Does anyone know if the 2003 model still have transmission problems? How about the 2004?

If your state has good lemon laws, and with the Acura warranty covering the transmission for quite a while, why would you worry? I haven't read the posts in that topic, but what percentage are they saying have had trouble? 1% or less?
If I were buying a new one though, I'd take a good hard look at getting the manual trans. Should be a lot of fun; as long as you don't have a lot of numper-to-bumper traffic.
It also does not have the same transmission as the earlier version.
I think this is a smart way to cut costs. As long as it's comfortable and looks good, I don't care. I'm not sure if it was used on the 2004 design.
I did not see the 2003 TL's leather as being that amazing in comparison to the Accord.

As for Honda they have good cloth seats but I would go with an Acura if I wanted leather rather than the Honda. I sat in an 01 Accord Coupe and I didn't like the leather. Wound up buying an 02 Cl(base) because I didn't like the Accord Coupe in leather. Also liked the Cl's exterior better than the Accord Coupe's at that time too.
As far as Honda's exterior styling I think they are trying to appeal too more Domestic Big 3 buyers so thats the reason for the 03 Accord and 04 TL's styling. I think Honda realizes they are going to lose some buyers that have been loyal to Honda for 20 years but I guess Honda wants a bigger piece of the pie(more market share.) Honda's styling has gone from indusrial to more generic in the last few years in my opinion but Honda has always had criticism from Domestic Big 3 loyalists: "Bland styling" through the 80's and 90's.
