We just got ours sienna limited thru www.zag.com, what it does is you specify your car, and they will give you a zag price with dealership they deal with to get that price. We got ours for $4600 less MSRP. You can also try www.autobrag.com, dealers will compete for the price you want, and if the dealership likes the price you want, they will accept your offer.

You say Navigation and Premium package: isn't it an extra $3200 for the Navigation system? I am also looking at purchasing what you bought. But our MSRP is $46,XXX.XX. Did you get both Nav and Ent for $4,025 combined?

    Thanks!

Hi, I'm considering buying a certified used 2009 Sienna LE 8 passenger FWD from a Toyota dealership (in the San Francisco bay area). It has about 41k miles on it. According to the information at http://www.toyotacertified.com when I enter the VIN #, it has the le and le awd extra value package #2. I guess this corresponds to the QF option. I also would have thought it would have the DRL option (Windshield wiper de-icer grid and Daytime Running Lights option) since I thought the QF and DRL options were packaged together for 2009 models, but it's not explicitly mentioned.

The dealership's posted price on their web site is $19,991. The van has a clean carfax history with 1 owner, but it was an ex-rental van.

I've never bought a used vehicle before, much less an ex-rental. I'm kind of surprised it already has 41k miles after only about 1 year 4 months from when it was originally purchased new, but I guess rentals accumulate a lot of mileage on them. The certified used designation is a bit re-assuring, but not sure how much it really means or if it's just a marketing gimmick.

I was originally looking at buying a new 2011 Sienna LE 8 passenger, but hate the 8th mini seat in the new model. Need to be able to install 3 child car seats in the 2nd row and can't do that with the mini seat. So then I started looking at an older Sienna 8 passenger options.

Is $19,991 a fair price or is this inflated too high? Realistically, how much lower could I negotiate on this van? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Just my thoughts. 19.9K for a ex-rental with 41K sounds high. At 41K, that van generated a lot of mileage revenue. (Or, if rented with unlimited miles, someone got a good deal)

My experience, rental vehicles got rode hard and put away wet. Regardless of how well maintained, they were driven by people that didn't really care at the end of the day.

Is this an AWD? If so, do you really need an AWD? Don't they have the run flat tires a lot of owners complain about? Quick wear out and high cost to replace.
  • foxyesqfoxyesq Member Posts: 26
Yes, package was the LDT Premium Package (PT) @$4,025. Includes, among other things, DVD, Nav., JBL 4 CD changer w. MP3, and Bluetooth.
  • dann80dann80 Member Posts: 18
No, it's a FWD so no run flat tires (which I agree not having is a good thing). I was thinking of a target price of 18k (maybe with an intial offer of $17.5k). Does that sound reasonable or would the dealer think I'm low-balling them?

On 2011 Sienna... Besides extended warranty, what other extras do you recommend? Paint protection, leather protection, etc.? And does anyone have prices paid for these? Thank you. May try to make deal tomorrow.
  • toy_fan1toy_fan1 Member Posts: 6
Interesting....... I just purchased that this last week and was told the opposite. Please email me personally at nmlittle1@msn.com. That way we can compare names of people we doubt with. I have an email in writing from the person in charge of that department at the Kansas dealership that after the 7years/100K I would receive a full refund if not used.

    Let compare notes........

I'm looking to purchase an XLE. In my Region, Toyota only ships Nav and Premium option package Siennas. I only want entertainment and am looking to special order so to avoid having to purchase the bundled Premium package. Can anyone tell me.....If i purchase the Entertainment package only, am i missing out on any functionality that would be provided to the entertainment system (DVD system)? Or are these options bundled purely to increase revenue? grrr!
  • sienna_ownersienna_owner Member Posts: 12
I have the XLE with Entertainment package only. It works quite well. We can control it through the remote controller or through the car stereo control panel. The DVD/stereo integration is reasonably user friendly.
I was debating to get the Entertainment package or get the DVD installed separately for a lot cheaper. Now I am glad I made that decision based on what I need, even it's way over price.
The nice thing is it's also covered by toyota warranty. I am thinking to get the 7yr or 8yr warranty. This thing will be also covered by that. Those expensive electronics can break down anytime after 3 years, some additional warranty might be useful.

Which dealer did you get the warranty from?

    Thanks'

just curious if you two ever "compared notes." we are soon to be purchasing from Kansas city dealer as well and wondered if this was really true. thanks.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
    Sounds totally reasonable to me.

Rentals are driven by many people and not particularly cared for (since they know they don't own it).

41k miles is a lot, though at least it's fairly new.

To be honest I'm surprised they certified a rental at all.

Just picked up a Super White 2011 XLE FWD with Nav and Floor Mat package in Chicagoland area

    Price: $33,150
    OTD: $36,200 (suburban Cook County)

Love the car so far but steering feel is a little light and vague compared to my Acura MDX. The SE probably has better feel but ride would have been too bumpy for my wife (we also wanted full leather heated seats). Love the roominess, kids can no longer kick my seat back while I'm driving. Also love the power hatch and sliding doors. No longer need to have a handful of road salt closing the rear hatch in the winter. Still learning the Nav system - good functionality but touch screen is not as responsive as my Garmin or my MDX. Getting used to not being able to program it while driving. MDX lets you do anything you want when the car is moving. I know the Sienna is not the same class as the MDX but we bought the MDX for about the same price 5 years ago.

Smart Key system is a love-hate relationship. Love being able to open any door without having to hit unlock. Hate that there is no convenient high-visibility place to put the key when you are driving. Little draw on the left is good but makes noise when you hit a bump. Center console is high visibility but slides around when you turn. Maybe I'm too old for Smart Keys :-)

Paid $980 for 7/75 extended warranty from the dealer with no deductible. Can probably do better with the Kansas dealer by about $150. Who knows? Can cancel this one within 30 days before the "restocking" fee kicks in.

BTW: Inquired at 3 dealerships about special ordering Blizzard Pearl on XLE. First one said we'll email you (never did). Second one said June's production order is filled - call us back when you're ready to buy. Third one (where we bought ours) said it's not on their production order sheet for XLE so it's not possible.

:confuse: Planning to buy the 2011 Limited AWD, on the toyota site we like
the Mystic Teal color, but on the brochure there is none like that and we
see one similar South Pacific Pearl, are they both same?? When searching
for inventory on dealer website all I can find is South Pacific Pearl, on one
of the websites I got same color code same(SOUTH PACIFIC PEARL Mystic Teal Mica 785 ) for both them.
Would be great if some one can clarify that these are same colors......

I've contacted about 6 dealers to get lease quotes on the LE and the quotes are all over the place. So far the best for just a first payment down, roll taxes, title, fees into lease:
$533 down and $355/35 months 12,000 miles (MSRP is about $30k)
I'm in NY so my sales tax is 8.75
    Anyone getting substantially better terms?

I think the highest quote I got was $414 down and $414/35 months...comes to be about $2,000 more over the term.

Hi everyone, I am looking to buy a 2011 Sienna Limited AWD in either Blizzard Pearl/Bisque, Predawn Mica/Bisque, or Silver/Gray, with CX (Convenience Package) and PT (Premium w/ all options) packages. I have had no luck for the past week looking in the midatlantic region and have been told I'd have to order it and wait. Is there anyone out there who knows of availability or can do a search for me? I don't mind having the car shipped from elsewhere (not west coast, though). Evidently, the CX package is the rate-limiting factor. Thanks.

XLE AWD - no option (almost). Order and took a month.
    Bought it end of May.

$32527 with floor mat and wheel lock. (Did not ask for but included in the deal)
    Dest. charge included.
Fee not included: T T and Process fee $100.

They tried to sell me 7/100 ext warr for $1500, cross bar $299, mudguard $349 (What a joke).
I bought the cross bar $140 and mudguard $79 from the parts dept. and installed them myself in less then hour.

I believe they are the same color. The official name is South Pacific Pearl so I am not sure why they keep using Mystic Teal Mica.

Any update? I would like to purchase an 8yr warranty too but still deciding if 75K or 100K
  • jacobsmomma1jacobsmomma1 Member Posts: 32
We checked for all Toyota dealers in our area through Toyota.com and then googled for each of their website. Then we checked their inventory and called them 1 by 1 to find out which one has the LTD AWD Blizzard Pearl that we wanted. We were flexible with the interior color and options. For options we did want just the entertainment package but are fine if the one available has the premium since we didnt want to order & wait.

I am not sure if this is near you but some have used fitzmall.com
  • jacobsmomma1jacobsmomma1 Member Posts: 32
I like your recap. Here are what I think:

Steering wheel - i agree - too light.

Nav - I think it's awesome since we only had Tomtom prior to this. I like that it gives the address and phone number of the destination and can use voice command to contact.

Smart Key system - i usually keep it in my purse nowadays but i guess a place for my husband to put it would be nice. he just put it in one of the cupholders and just use the extra on the dash for his drink. I use the center console to for my phone and it does slide so I am thinking of buying a non-skid mat for the center console.

Blizzard Pearl on XLE - I still have to see someone who successfully got that combination since it specifically says on the brochure that its available on Limited models only. Truecar and Edmunds will only bring up Blizzard Pearl as a color option if you chose a Limited trim.

I would opt for the 100k warranty. I worked for toyota for 15yrs as a master tech and found that not much goes before 60k.
  • jacobsmomma1jacobsmomma1 Member Posts: 32
i thought the warranty expires on whichever comes first. We only use the van on weekend trips so i think we will be putting in less than 10,000 miles a year. If we get 8yr/100K warranty, my understanding is if it reaches 8 years then the warranty expires even if it only has 70,000 miles in it.

do i have the wrong interpretation?

Finally, sales person agreed that she got it for 26k, after so many questions. Thanks ateixeira for your valuable information. I am trying to negotiate to give me same price. This price is really tough to get, as MSRP prices are increase because toyoto includes floormate now. I will update the final sales price.
  • toy_fan1toy_fan1 Member Posts: 6
    Yes:

The update is clear here. Other people were dealing with the wrong dealership. Here is who you need to be going through. http://midwesttoyotasuperstore.com/
Without naming names you need to ask for the Special Finance Manager. Initials are JJ. Make sure you get in writing that if you don't use the policy over the term you will get a full refund..... They will resist, but demand it and it can be done.

    Here is the price list:

    T3-TOYOTA SIENNA VAN,

    6 YEAR 75,000 MILES $509.00,

    6 YEAR 100,000 MILES $749.00

    6 YEARS 125,000 MILES $1,019.00

    7 YEARS 75,000 MILES $594.00,

    7 YEAR 100,000 MILES $889.00

    7 YEARS 125,000 MILES $1,144.00

    8 YEAR 75,000 MILES $709.00

    8 YEARS 100,000 MILES $1,039.00

    8 YEAR 125,000 MILES $1,399.00

Any questions let me know. Hope this helps

I am looking for Sienna XLE AWD with premium package. My local dealer gave me 41K offer. Is it really worth? What should I pay for this?

I am not going back to this dealer...he is not ready to negotiate anyway!

Visited a Dealer through a major warehouse's auto program. Though the deal says &750 over invoice but the dealer said that they will take out $500 more making it only $250 over invoice. THe final price including TTL was 30301.

THough I was confused that the toyota website says they have a 2.7 engine but the delaer said they don't get it in this region. THat would make the price even cheaper.

Can anyone confirm if they have seen to purchased 2011 LE 2.7 Engine in the philly/NJ or DE region?

    :confuse:

Planning to buy 2011 Sienna LTD AWD Full Loaded with Limited premium package
including the CX limited convenience package, the MSRP is 45,485 and the invoice
is 40,999, I might getting 41,500 plus tax, tags and processing fee still negotiating...
Is this a good deal?? and also is it worth waiting 3-4weeks for the color we
want(actually there is none available right now any decent color)???
Please advise.....?? It is very tough to deal with these dealers... I am not sure
why they make it so hard to buy a car/van...
  • jerrsnbrgjerrsnbrg Member Posts: 6
in atlanta we get screwed by dealer fee. just about everyone is $595.00
ontop of this some of the best priced zag dealers add on floor mats-399, toyoguard extras 499 to add an extra 900 to final price and they say this is non negotiable.
Does anyone know if this is really true?? I already got a great 1st price from the dealer but then they add this junk to it??
  • nobonobo Member Posts: 305
$599 dealer fee is ~ 90% pure profit. So are the other items you mentioned. If they refuse to negotiate, go elsewhere. There are other Toyota stores besides Atlanta. If you are determined to get a better price, keep looking and be willing to drive (or fly) to get it.
  • chucksrtchucksrt Member Posts: 12
dealer cost on the floor mats and sill protectors is something like $195. If it is not on the factory window sticker then you shouldn't have to pay for it.
  • chucksrtchucksrt Member Posts: 12
You are right on! remember the cost of the warranty is negotiable the actual cost of the warranty is about 65% of the retail cost. So you should be able to get a deal if your good.
  • chucksrtchucksrt Member Posts: 12
We just bought a limited with blizzard pearl with premium package for $41000 plus tax and tags. I'd say you can do better. I worked 6 different dealers on the phone and in person to get $4000 off MSRP
  • rockcity50rockcity50 Member Posts: 1
We just bought an XLE FWD with no options for $31,000 plus tax and tag (MSRP 32,175). The dealership wouldn't to "throw-in" the floor mats so we didn't get them and will get aftermarket mats instead.
  • chucksrtchucksrt Member Posts: 12
I have seen that combo at Team Toyota if I remember correctly. Now I would never buy from Team toyota but I went there to look because they have a large inventory. I believe Conicelli Toyota had some too. You can go to the dealer of your choice, and if they want your business they will even order you a car and give you decent deals too. If you want a good deal go to Champion/sloane Toyota in Philly on cottman ave. They offered the best pricing right up front (no games) they were really good. if you want the salesmans name contact me and i'll give you all the info. Remember if one dealer doesn't have it on their lot, they can dealer trade with other dealers to get the car you want.

The bay area Dealers are having low inventory on Sienna, not because the cars are selling like hot cakes, but because Toyota has intentionally kept the inventory low till they come out of the crisis. The price for 2011 Sienna is not going down as rapidly as you may have thought, mainly because of this low inventory.
I'm looking for a V6 LE model and so far the best quote I've got is $26,995 (i.e. $27K) + Tax & License. The issue with that is there is only one car left, black color, which I am not interested in. Then next best quote I got was directly 1K more, $27,965, with few more color options.
I think I'll wait till I get the color I want for a price below $27K.
Please share your recent buying/window shopping experience.
    Thx.
  • hitoravihitoravi Member Posts: 7
$26,995 seems good price for LE V6. Lowest so far I got is $27,700 near Chicagoland.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Sweet, glad to hear they finally came clean.

Sounds like you're going to get a sweet deal as well.
  • jacobsmomma1jacobsmomma1 Member Posts: 32
Thanks - this is the same quote I received from same dealer and from same person so he has been consistent.

I will make sure to get in writing the full refund if the policy is not used during its entire term.

    Thanks!
  • jacobsmomma1jacobsmomma1 Member Posts: 32
Dont go back to that dealer. I got my LTD AWD with premium package for 41,195 so 41K for XLE AWD even with premium is too much based on this.
